The firearm is supposed to go in the velcro “hidden” pocket... not the pocket you are using. That is why the mesh is grabbing your pistol. If you watch the promo video for the item, they rip open the ccw pocket and draw, suggesting what I am saying.
I think I have yet to find a reviewer that puts their firearm in this appropriate pocket and it boggles my mind why folks would put their phone in the ccw pocket and their gun where all the admin organization is🤷♂️
I just recently bought it but it's just kind of strange that they have the loop portion in the main compartment rather than the actual cc compartment. So like does it just slide around without velcro?
I suppose you could put a weapon in the mesh pocket, however it is actually suppose to go in main compartment where the hook and loop is to secure a holster. The small pockets are for mags.
The velcro backed pocket has mesh in the same pocket to the front of the pack isnt this what hes talking about? This is where the guy at the 5.11 store said to carry the gun. Ohh the full velcro pocket has loop back too. Why would you want to store your gun in there and make that noisy velcro noise to draw
The waist bag you show in 6.38 is the Polish Helikon Bandicoot. I have been using this model for years and so far it has been irreplaceable. Its only drawback is exactly what you say, the inability to mount it on the chest or in another way, and that's what I need too. Great review and I was finally convinced to buy LV.
Thanks a lot for this video. I just bought myself a Fjällräven High Coast sling bag since guns aren't really a thing over here, but let me tell you, that was a huge mistake. I own two 5.11 backpacks and I should have known better. This one costs as much as the one I've bought, but it's not only bigger, it's also a lot more durable and versatile. The Fjällräven one is already bursting from the seams with just my RFID wallet, an altoids tin, my phone, a set of keys and a pack of paper tissues. And the straps cut into my neck all the time when wearing it cross body, since the weight drags the whole thing down. Guess I'll really have to just buy this one instead now.
4min17sec - WOW!!! I've had the pouch for yeaaaaaaars, and never knew there was this hidden compartment. Thank you GideonsTactical and the view who pointed this out.
The LV18 & LV6 have replaced my COVRT18 which has faithfully served me for 6 years. I use the front pocket of the LV6 as the “tech pocket (phone charger, cable, ear buds, etc…)” for my LV18 but I keep the CCW pocket empty. As far as mount this to the LV18; move the C clips to the top loops of the LV6 then through the compression strap buckle loops of the LV18. Run the compression straps through the smaller bottom & top loops of the LV6 and connect the buckles. The LV6 does does not flop if you do this.
I use this bag every night when I run 3 miles. With the right holster you can draw pretty fast. I use a COOKS holster that is kydex. A glock 19 is about as big as you can go. It holds the glock 48 nicely with an extra magazine.
This is for minimal edc, pricey for a small bag,but if ur backpacker its good when its attach with the lv16 U have to buy em both seperately thats the downside
I'm at a toss up between the Lv18 and the Vertx Gamut 2.0, leaning more towards the Vertx. I had the 5.11 Rush 100 and love the quality and how well it carries the weight but it seems more like a giant dump bag. Definitely switching it out for the Vanquest Markhor 45. However the modularity with being able to attach the lV6 to the LV18 and have it fit perfectly makes it a tough choice. I do appreciate 5.11 being more affordable than the Vertx. You can get both these packs for around the same price. Excellent review as always.
The most detailed reviews in the game for sure. I had zero interest before I watched this but I’m definitely getting one as soon as they’re available. Pretty stoked to check it out...my tactical murse....or manny pack. 🤙🏼
Not bad, but when you start using a Hill People Gear kit bag with the super comfortable straps...it's hard to look at anything else. Love my HPG bag and it works well with my XDs 9mm
Just got recommended one of these, thought I would see if anyone has reviewed them and you came to the top of the list. Not watched yet but am now looking forward to your honest review. Cheers for doing these videos, really helps us out. Peace and love 🤙🤙
Fantastic and thorough video, well done! But I spit out my drink when you talked about carrying it at the 10 "AM" position 🤣🤣🤣 I know it was just a brain fart but DANG that was a good'un 🤘🏻😂 Again, amazing video, that part just made me giggle lol
For quick access of the Zipper try to add Zipper Extender or a Little bit longer paracord that might help you get the zipper quicker and pull it a little faster to quick draw , since you like using the main zipper compartment of the LV6 ,
Someone wrote that there isn't a buckle on the waistband to get it on and off. What do you have to do, slip it over yourself and tighten it up? Is that a deal breaker?
Hey mate, check out the Hill People Gear “belt Pack”. It’s like this but 50 times better. Much better thought out for CCW and EDC. Keeps them both seperate in the same size as this. Just a few less mounting options but much better. I bought the LV6 and then found out about HPG belt pack. So bummed. Who am I kidding - I’ll end up getting the HPG belt pack as well...
what do you think this lv6 compared to 2-banger? I have lv6, thinking of getting the 2-banger. I cant fit my ipad mini in lv6. I saw someone can fit the ipad mini in 2-banger. Although they are both 3L, but it seems like 2-banger got more room.
I am sooo confused about the different straps. I'm a grandma, so that allows me some confusion. 😊 Anyone want to give a sloooow step by step for seniors on all these straps? Don't need to know about attaching to a back pack.......Just all the clips, buckles, belts and how I can switch out the really wide belt for the smaller kind.
I’m jumping on this for just wearing tank top and shorts. If u have to draw with slower response time, take cover behind a tree, car, wall or anything that u can use while drawing. If you’re hunting, pack 40 S&W bro.
Would a small HydroFlask fit in one of the pockets? It is 2 11/16" wide (the lid across) & 8 1/4" tall? Im looking to purchase but would like to be able to place water container inside. Thanks for any info! MD

Can you put a link where you got the holster in there? I bought one but it didn’t come with one. I’m most using it as a holster I’m using to put holster in it
I watched another video i think you would have better results with attaching it to the lv18 backpack if you used the c clips to the buckle clips on the bottom of the front pocket to the back top of the lv6 waist pack.
I'm almost worried they're are too many options for how to use it as a standalone I'm tempted to dump my rush 12 edc just to get the rush 6/rush 18 combo. Cool setup.
I am a recent sub and have been trying to find a cloth or synthetic patch to put on my gear. I would like to represent your channel because I fell that your reviews are very informational and honest. If you could send me a link I would be grateful.
Those plastic zipper handles on some 5.11 aren’t durable ive had alot of bags over the years that those particular zipper handles break. Their not even used as much or exposed to the sun.
The opening width is about 7 3/4". the depth of the pocket is about 4 1/2". For the 19 and similar sizes, the bag wont close with the Velcro. The quick response will be hindered.
Why are you publishing a recent video on a bag that's been discontinued? I contacted 5.11 and they said this is an older bag that had been discontinued.
you haven't attached the L6 properly by the 2 hook and loops, thats why it is sagging so much, check out this fellas video ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dtfh-uZ1l1s.html
This video shows how to attach the LV6 to the LV18 without having the sag you're talking about. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dtfh-uZ1l1s.html
