Guide of Souls is an automatic include in a humans deck where you may potentially run a handful of angels in the 99. It’s absolutely going in my Katilda human tribal deck

Perilous forays with something like lotus cobra and a creature token Gen with landfall like scute swarm or ramping baloths gets you all your lands. Definitely gonna build Six

With six and satoru the infiltrator on the board all u need is dakmor salvage (the dredge land) and any creature like cryptic trilobite that triggers satoru to draw but then instantly dies. U will dredge 2 milling 2 cards and then play the trilobite again. repeat untill your entire deck deck is milled, you have dakmor salvage in hand and then u just cast our favorite merfolk wizard from the grave to win. it does need 2 blue mana open, 2 very specific creatures on the board and a specific land in the graveyard (and then 1 of 10 or so creatures with x casting cost that dies instantly). Im not sure but it is probobly not viable enough to make room for in cedh. (I think six will be seen in some decks tho)

Yeah.. I am gonna make an energy deck now. So many cool card for it! Them having energy this set kind of tells me that a return to Kaladesh might be far away. Otherwise they would probably have kept that cmd deck for that set. Oh well, one day. These cards are enough to keep me happy for a while :D!

Idk to me, "Can't be blocked except by..." makes more sense when there is one thing that can block it. Unblockable would only be used if there was absolutely nothing that could block it.

One of the commander precons is RWU energy, obviously the sets gonna have a lot, no one is surprised by that.

Six, combos nice with lotus petal and Sarinth steelseeker too. Evolution witness played with myr scrapling could be a fun pauper combo. Ocelot pride is something that stacks well on itself and feels like a nut card in some boros kuldotha goblins deck.

Ocelot Pride is probably one of the strongest one drop creatures we've seen. Absolutely wild for the price

One thing about Brainsurge. In an izzet or mono blue Brainsurge is either going to be copied, stormed, or reduced to 1U. And while they may seem niche when looking for that perfect card to set off your combo it’s gonna be a nice addition to my collection. Or more than likely I just pull the draw X card from brainsurging then draw up to the reshuffle card and go fetch a land or something. Sounds convoluted but storm and decks that want many castings would like it as a piece. Baral welcomes you Brainsurge…

Brainstorm and Brainsurge are good in commander with Teferi's Ageless Insight, Alhemerot's Archive etc. Will end up in all Niv Mizzet Parun decks

weird that triton wavebreaker have that expecification about it being a creature to have the prowess, while every single other bestow card dont have that. even the ones that gain buff dont need to be a creature to actualy gain the buff (example: eidolon of countless battles)

I always sleep on evolutionary leap, and I really shouldn't. I'm so stuck in my spiky ways that I forget how good these cards can be.

Evolution witness combos nicely with Meadowboon (evoke creature that puts counters on your creatures)

Pretty sure this is the set that swaps Totem to Umbra since they're trying to move away from real world religious/cultural loan words. (Totem has become a pretty common term but it *is* technically a Ojibwe sacred object)

Well, Consider Cascade Decks like imoti, i put a 7 into a 6 drop and get 1 card more, so there could be brainsurge also work

Evolution Witness seems good. I’ve never been thrilled with Eternal Witness being a 3-drop Regrowth that’s a 2/1. I know why it’s “good” but it’s never felt good to me. Having a can-mine-additional value alternative will be nice.

Yes they changed totem armor to umbra armor for the same reason they changed tribal to typal/kindred 🙄. At least this change actually has a more legit reason as basically all the totem armor cards are "____ umbra"

So I googled it and in true wizards fashion whenever I need their site it's down. But I found a fan site that had this to say about totem armour. - Change from Totem armor to Umbra armor In 2023, R&D reviewed its stance towards Totem armor as part of a review of terms that might be considered culturally offensive.[3] The decision was made to rename the keyword ability to "Umbra armor". This change was implied to be made for cultural reasons, as Totems are considered sacred objects or symbols that serve as an emblem of certain groups of of people. The change was implemented as part of the Oracle updates for Modern Horizons 3 in June, 2024. Now I personally think this is fcking stpid because of course that was the point of the totem armour ability. It was literally an ability that was supposed to protect something of yours as if it were sacred to you.

Not exactly novel, and it's a fairly large combo, but why not use some rarely used cards like Harvest Wurm? On EDHREC it's in 364 decks. Cartographer is in 424 decks. Stoic Builder is in 264 decks. Tilling Treefolk is in 1,535 decks. Be unique and play a weak combo ;)

i mean it seems pretty clear to me why they changed totem armor to umbra armor, just like the tribal spell type was changed to kindred, they didn’t want these to sound like indigenous words, probably by fear of being called out on it and cancelled. Personnally I don’t think anyone asked for this change and find it worse that they changed it

Reason why totem armor is changed to umbra armor becuase no matter where you look you have idiots getting offended. Why we can't have tribal cards any more and we get kindred. I find it funny becuase peope felt represented with the old terms and now they get none
