In this one, we head out with Derek the Rock Master for our last venture in Florida! We set out with hopes of finding good calcite coral, which to be fair we did find, but ended up spending the day finding incredible rocks! Fossiliferous chert loaded with agatized shells, limestone filled with fantastic fossils, completely calcified fossils in matrix, but the true stars of the day were the incredible pockets of brilliantly flashy druzy quartz surrounded by agate banding! I definitely was not expecting to find such incredible crystal specimens, and Derek found one in particular that is among the coolest agate specimens I've ever seen from Florida! It was a fantastic day for sure, and one amazing way to wrap up our time in Florida! After our hunt, we head back to the shop to cut and prep some of our specimens.
