I love how Genya went straight to save Tanjiro when Resentment was crushing Tanjiro’s head and jaw. In the past, Genya would have attacked the demon instead, but to see him go straight to helping Tanjiro was wonderful. Also, I had a lot of happy tears in this episode.
Genya’s character development was so nicely done. If I didn’t read your comment, I wouldn’t have remembered how mean he was before. One thing with demon slayer, they know how to pace character developments. They did the same with inosuke. Just felt so natural
@@kyroking9934true. I think one reason for this natural development is because he has always been pretty kind. But he is so eager and determined that it gets to the point of violence. Though Inosuke we should’ve learned that it doesn’t make you a bad person in general.
I just realized Muichiro giving/throwing the sword to Tanjiro is very symbolic. Muichiro being a descendant of the first breathing users giving the mantle to Tanjiro who is now the user of the first breathing.
There's also the parallel to earlier in the season where Muichiro tossed his broken sword to Tanjiro disrespectfully. Now he threw a fixed sword (Or at least it started to get fixed) to him with hope.
@@mukhtarhussain584 I found this one, but they said it's their own cover on it and not the original. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-dChS6F4cDZM.html
yea he was badass. Focused , determined , always thinking about next move when the previous one failed and died like a man. If only Upper 5 had half of Zohakuten character , it could turn completely different for Tokito.
@@Yoursenpai111 it’s about ten chapters the hashira training arc! So it either maybe the first few episodes of the new season or maybe a movie? Let us find out in the nearby future ✨
we need to take a moment and appreciate and praise those who worked on this episode, it is truly a amazing episode everything from the music to the animation was absolutely perfect
This was the perfect finale for the swordsmith village arc. As a manga reader, I was so impatient to see nezuko conquer the Sun. Also the reveal on Muzan's backstory was amazing; really shows how ancient he is compared to other characters in the series specially since he lived in the Heian era(700 AD to 1000 AD) which was a time shrouded in superstition and myths. It's absolutely worth mentioning Hantengu's backstory since unlike most backstories of demons he wasn't a victim of society but rather a perpetrator of evil. He isn't meant to be sympathized with but understood since most people would stoop to his level if they find themselves in the same situation. And we gotta give it to Zohakuten, the Gigachad clone. I also loved how Tanjiro followed the principles of thunder breathing taught to him by Zenitsu in aiding his battle. Overall a 10/10 season with a fantastic finale.
It's also worth noting this is one of the few times Tanjiro did not feel any sympathy or give a demon closure after beheading them. It's like he sensed Hantengu was an evil, deceitful being at his core.
@Celfieparie It's similar to how we do wrong things and the accountability of it burns on us. Hantengu just didn't correct himself the first time he felt that and let out excuses so people would pity him; like how a child does to their parents. It just so happens his 'parents' didn't punish him.
I haven't read the manga, but Muzan's backstory was utterly ridiculously dissapointing. It literally justifies nothing. How does a flower from a medicine turn someone immortal with super strength? As well as, how does that immortal man with super strength is now able to mutate himself and make others like him that can summon Wood Dragons and fishes? Or summon a literal infinite castle in another dimension? Where the heck did these supernatural powers come from? I really hope there's more backstory than this, this was lame as hell
@@Hyzayn bro I'm sorry from the bottom of my heart, but we get no further explanation besides one more revelation later that probably won't surprise you either and you went get a answer on the powers.
For your question at 32:51 ; this part wasn't spoiler since in the later of story, it's just reinforce and clarify his back story again but not really adding that much into it so here's some answers. Muzan was born pretty ill and weak and was predicted to not live pass his 20 and his desire was to be alive is immersive to the point of being selfish and he would willing to do whatever he wanted to archive it. The medicine of doctor was in experimental state and the doctor didn't even know it will work like that also (the doctor was much likely never mentioned again.) The medicine transformed into what he is => Muzan wasn't born demon but mutated into demon after the medicine and you know the rest as he would do anything to be alive and would never give a thoughts about others as it's all about himself: eating human, creating demon kind for those purposes have been mentioned in this episode. From what I know, Demon Slayer was written based in philosophy of JP's Buddhism. Muzan, the antagonist and Tanjiro, the protagonist are extremely contrasting each other. Tanjiro was depict as kind, compassion while Muzan was extremely selfish, cold-heart. So, like you said, he wasn't made for being sympathized with. Red spider lily is real life flower that was believed to stand for guiding the death to their rest (which is why it often used in some manga/anime whenever dead scene coming up or to predict it.) Blue spider lily was fictional but blue is contrast to red => so is its meaning => it stands for bringing the death back to the mortal world and in this case, it's Muzan => the supernatural thing that wasn't belong in the mortal world = Demon.
A common complaint I often hear aimed at this show is that Nezuko, for as big a part she is of it, doesn't really have a personality or character. While I see where those people are coming from, I like to think this episode refutes that; Nezuko's JUST as selfless and heroic as her brother, if not more.
Nezuko not speaking doesn't imply no personality, her actions throughout the series have shown her devotion, love and caring towards everyone especially Tanjiro. Anyone who i saying Nezuko doesn't have personality forgets that she repeatedly fought and protected innocents in every season of this series, yeah she didn't speak but her actions are far louder.
those people forget that scene in ep1 when standing over the family grave and she just has a blank stare then when they leave Tanjiro deos the classic look back towards what was lost Nezuko stops, bc they're holding hands ..but doesn't look back. In her mind it must seem pointless somehow although she's the same person she just doesn't interface w the world the same way my point is if you allow it, the story might actually propose some interesting ideas
I have a theory with the Nezuko thing. With the blood demon arts, they're always, in some way, connected to their lives as humans. In Nezuko's case, she and Tanjiro had a family that worshipped the Sun God and had Sun Breathing passed down within their family, so we see that reflected in her first ability "exploding blood". It burns demons but doesnt hurt humans at all, much like the sun. And now as her blood has mutated even more, she now has sun resistance.
18:55, @Carlie, I just want you to know that i was watching this very loudly, as said before, and your scream here woke up my husky mix dog who then stormed the front door and started howling hahahahahaha. Perfection.
Many may say this season was mid but damn this episode was an emotional rollercoaster, i cried for nezuko, tanjiro voice actor need a rise he was phenomenal
what bothered me was, the episodes where kinda too predictable...especially this...almost gets hit, slowmotion into flashback. that was used a bit too much for my taste. but overall still enjoyable to watch..and we got alot information about whats going (specially muzans motivation)
The way I see it this season was more about character development, explaining lore, and setup for future arcs. Upper Moon 5 and 4 were introduced and killed in this same season and weren't given much spotlight, the others seem to be much more important.
I think Muzan's goal of withstanding the sun is exactly like that "dog chasing a car analogy" where even he himself doesnt know what he would do with true immortality once he has it. It started off with him being afraid of dying young and then it iust became an obsession since it's the only real obstacle that he can't overcome. I would imagine that if he were to achieve true immortality he would probably regret it now that he has nothing of real substance to do for the rest of eternity
@German Plays I don't think he does though. That was something he said when he was sick because he was bitter about his illness but I haven't really gotten that impression from him in any of his other scenes. I mean if he really was just itching to kill humans left and right, I feel like he would have immediately killed the people in the alleyway in season 1 but instead he gave them two opportunities to fuck off. It wasn't until the dude said he looked sickly that he freaked out and killed them
@@Gabriel-zd6ub Well, we know he is a coward, so he doesn't go killing people left to right, because that would alert the Slayers I've read the manga, but I don't remember if he says his real objective after being immune
@German Plays he doesn't, the manga also doesn't have the line about him wanting to kill all living things either I'm pretty sure which is why I don't think that's the case
Sun breathing created all the other breaths, so it makes sense a sun breather can use the other breathing techniques at lower effectiveness. Same way he uses water breathing. Also that wasnt Muichiro's sword. It was tanjiro's from inside the swordsman robot
I’ve never cried for any film show etc, but this, this was something completely different, I felt my eyes water and I thought to myself “I am really gonna cry right now?” And coming back to that thought I wouldn’t be at all upset if a tear ran down my cheek that split second, this episode was peak demon slayer the animation, music, vibe, etc was completely different in this episode it truly is a work of art. You guys are amazing your reactions are so entertaining and relatable, too bad your reactions for demon slayer have to come to a temporary stop, but I can’t wait until next season and your reactions that come with it!
@@guts_gudanikym reading the berserk manga through a summary of it in video form on RU-vid, it is sad but I was already spoiled of what happens during eclipse so it saved me from feeling more emotional during it, plus I’m not a very emotional person but I do have a deep connection with my sister and this episode really hit home so it was aswell as a more personal view point.
"When she was running out of stamina, good thing he finished" got me rolling 🤣 that was the most unintentional ly out of pocket thing to say it woke me up so much 😂
The sibling relationship between Nezuko and Tanjiro is wonderful. Tanjiro hesitated to make a choice, Nezuko didn't. So she made the choice for him. She was the MVP of this episode and it was an amazing finale
I'm glad you thought the same thing about Tanjiros final dash at upper 4th looking like rengokus attack on akaza. When Tanjiro did thunderclap and flash, not only was he standing the same way Zen was, but the camera movement was pretty much the exact same when we first saw Zen fall asleep and use thunderclap and flash back in S1
What a masterpiece of a season finale. This has to be to best episode Demon Slayer has produced thus far. No other episode made me cry like this, and the animation and music were so beautiful.
I think it make sense that Nezuko is in a child like state of mind. She probably retreated back to the mindset where she was most safest. Before Muzan killed the entire family. She's going to have to relive that gruesome moment and becoming a demon all over again in order to get her sense of self back. Something that happens alot irl. Some people mindset completely changes after a traumatic event. They resort back to childhood for security.
I really don't think that is the case here. I think Nezuko was such a special being. She probably could speak due to her humanity fighting with the demon cells. This might have caused some neurological implications. And, due to her not speaking for so long, the brain's language centers (Broca's and Wernicke's area) were underutilized leading to reduced connectivity. Since the large skills weren't practiced, her linguistic abilities were frozen at the latest pre-demonic state. This may be why she can't really speak properly. I know i tackled the situation as a Med student😅but im proud my nervous system notes are paying off...
I think the coolest part of the episode was when Tanjiro went to finish off the demon after leaving Nezuko, his eyes had a pinkish colour (like Nez) instead of his normal red. I also find it interesting in the flashback that Muzan never actually tried to walk in the sun he just "knew" it would kill him. So maybe he's already immune to it and doesn't realise it and has wasted his 1000 years looking for a cure he doesn't need, which would be funny. There's something to be said about Nezuko's "fast adapting blood" and the fact Tanjiro has shown he can combine breathing forms. He did it with Water and Fire last season and this season he's done it with Thunder and Fire. The next season being "Hashria training", I think Tanjiro is going to learn to adapt and combine each breathing form and be like the "Ultimate Demon Slayer"
Bro imagine muzan accidentally being exposed to the sun 1000 years later only to find out he is immune. But the thing is that I think all demons instantly have that instinct to not get exposed to the sun. Just like nezuko for example. Remember when she hid from the sun when she actually has no experience as a demon yet.
People forget Sun breathing was the original breathing style, making all other breathing style branches of it....Basically, Tangiro is the Avatar of Demon Slayer.😂
I cried while reading the manga, I cried watching it animated even without subtitles, I cried again when it already has subtitles, and I'm crying on every reaction video I watch 😭
You two have quickly become my favorites when it comes to these types of reactions. Thanks for sharing your honest feelings, and keep up the great work. Much love
even while knowing nezuko would conquer the sun bc ive read the manga, this episode almost had me in tears with the flashbacks and the way they presented it
As an anime watcher I kinda knew bc of the opening video. Him and the rest looked at that bamboo thing (or her) very relieved and happy so during the part where she was about to die as we were supposed to think I was thinking about that part of the op video so I kinda was already suspicious of her dying. So I couldn’t sob at all lmao
I'm so happy that Nezuko conquered the sun thank goodness!! First half got me sooo sad but she didn't sacrifice herself for everyone at the end and that was soo beautiful and emotional!!😭😍❤️
It is not mentioned as such, but the ability to have seen the main demon inside the heart, is called Sukitōru Sekai, or transparent world, this ability is only available to those slayers who have awakened the slayer's mark. I seem to remember that only Gyomei Himejima is the only one to use this ability without having his slayer's mark yet. Even though I'm not sure how he used it, since he's blind xd
before i watch i just want to say that i stayed up ALL SUNDAY NIGHT AND MONDAY MORNING and now it's 4pm on monday, trying to wait for carlie and ange's upload of this reaction. Damn you australia time :P But damnnnnn you both for taking us on this beautiful journey hahaha
I have not read the manga, so this is all theories. If you guys remember, Rengoku said when they met on the train, that he had heard that people with black swords have no idea of what style to master. I am starting to think that Tanjiro is able to use all breathing styles, since he has some relation the sun breathing, which all other styles are based on. We just saw him use some kind of Thunder breathing. So that's Water, "sun" and Thunder breathing that he has used so far.
@@GermanPlays05 im also a person who has NOT read the manga and do not want to be spoiled, but if we're following basic laws of physics, "black" is usually the color that absorbs sunlight the most, so maybe a black sword is a MUST to harness sun breathing techniques otherwise it would overwhelm the sword and snap it?
Even though I know Nezuko will be immune to sunlight, I still get carried away by the sad mood when the Nezuko scene gets burned by the sun that just appears
best reaction i've seen yet...specially carlie.. ON MUZAN: he was not a demon he is actually kaguya ubuyashiki's ancestral relative... the blues spider lilly potion hadn't worked before he murdered the doctor, so just like his blood when he turns people into demons you must have some insecurity, evil, or ambition in you for it to work.... that is why it takes more blood to become a demon being a breather or a good person. THE KAMADOS are sun breathers, look as their father's demeanor, and he taught the breath of hinokami to tanjiro, they werre all loving with no petty ambitions and goodness in their hearts, also we saw tanjiro's soul in the mugen train arc with little sun flares and light, htis is proof, but NEZUKO'S soul shouldn't be different she is a sun breather too inside her soul, proof is that tanjiro learned water breathing but his sword is black... a sun breather sword (black absorbs more light, it can absorb more of the sun, that's why when it's red it damages more its the sun's power) NEZUKO also is cionstantly training, remember this is a very bhuddist and shinto anime.. in bhuddism you must release of petty ambitions, insecurities etc, and sun breathers are very pure naturally, also monks train by not speaking or not eating for long periods of time, this is what nezuko has been doing for years, trainning spiritually, that also accelerates changes in her blood, also muzan's blood is his will his will is to seek power and not illumination he moves away from light, from the sun.. nezuko has no such ambitions and trains like a monk moving closer to to illumination, SHE DOES NOT CONQUER THE SUN.. SHE EMBRACES THE SUN AND GETS CLOSER TO IT, first she rejects muzan's blood and rejects his constant temptaition (muzan's blood is his will, he can see though it read your mind with it and make you do things, tempt you and such) so that makes her stronger and her blood art rejects/destroys his blood which is present in all demons, she is constantly training evolviong spirtually and gets more physical powers. LAST DETAIL the blue spider lilly grows close to a characters grave related to yorichi, and in the story's present tanjiro's mom knows where it grows and blooms, she showed tanjiro once, she is also a cook of regional recipies, so maybe she used to cook daily or as medicine and the kamados have been always exposed to it but since they never have petty terible ambitions or insecurities it only has positive effects on them... hope you guys get to read this book of a comment but enjoy it as i did your reaction!
Oh boy!, when You get to yoriichi's back story is gona stick in our hearts like rengoku did, he is the man. Simple yet beautiful character, i actually cried a bit when saw him animated and voiced for this seasson just like tanjirou did.
God, the music in this show is just so elite. The song that plays during the Nezuko slide show is called Kamado Nezuko no Uta, and it's meant to be a parallel song to Tanjiro's theme that plays at the end of Episode 1x19. I was hoping we'd get it this season, and I'm so happy at how it was used. The story may be somewhat simple, but Ufotable always executes the Demon Slayer adaptation with stunning mastery. Even with plot points we've all seen before, the studio elevates it to a degree that I have NEVER seen in anime before. Can't wait for the next arc!
i love you guys, honestly this has become my go to channel for anime reactions i think you both have amazing energy and have excellent viewpoints too on whats happening
A lot of feelings, emotions. I'm so glad that Nezuko's alive.! 😭🥺Tanjirou having panic attack but This is a very good depiction of a panic attack. He didn't choose but Nezuko made the choice for him. 😢 And look how strong he is to keep going.
The scenery/tension reminded me of the end attack on titan season 2. I was 100% tearing up as soon as she kicked tanjiro in the air I was ready to flip a table.
I loved that there was no sad backstory for Hantengu. The man simply was a cowardly lying thief and a murderer. Makes you hope there are layers of hell, or at least still chances of redemption for some of the Demons sent there. Gyutaro doesn't deserve hell nearly as much as Hantengu.
Little side infos (no spoiler) We have 3 arcs left. 1. Hashira training arc with 9 chapter 2. Infinity castle arc with 47 chapter (by far the biggest arc) 3. Sunrise countdown arc with 22 chapter So basically 88/166 chapter are done (53% of the manga) I really guess the hashira training arc gonna be a OVA or movie and infinity castle get splitt in 2 parts
So emotional episode ever !! really love the relationship between Tanjiro and Nezuko, can't wait for next season How long will we wait for this ? Thanks to Demon Slaye and Carlie and Ange Let's see in next season
