As a pirate myself, here are some fixes needed. A. The basic cutlass wielding pirate should be weaker, about as strong as the vindicator. B. A captain mob thats an upgraded pirate would be cool. C. Better treasure when raiding a pirate ship, being that ya have to fight hard to kill enmities and a boss mob that is the captain.

Love this, but as to the skeletons "drowning" - wouldnt they just turned into drowned skeletons from minecraft dungeons? Just make pirate skeletons spawn on skeleton ships in my opinion - or even spooky ghost ships!

You should give the ship captain a banner like pillagers. That causes a pirate raid, but only on coastal villages

Then there should also be merchant ships. These would be loaded with travelling dealers and lamas and chests of random items (the sort they would sell).

Today was MC Live and chest boats were announced. The community's dream is finally complete!

This is so fun. I remember finding a full intact sunken ship and that partially submerged in shallow waters. So I unflooded it, fixed it up, added sails and more loot, some decorations. Added some skeletons, a wither skeleton as the captain and some strays and it made it look like they were cursed undead pirates out of sea. It was so fun to see the finished outcome of it. If any update I want would be a pirate/Ocean 2 update where we get these pirates stuff, especially boats that could not only hold a chest but also connect to other boats so you can essentially sail on a string of boats and improved maps mechanics with much a better treasure hunt. Could also be a good way to add new sea creatures too

It feels that a chest update is quite needed! Along with the chest in a boat, different coloured chests would be neat! Wouldn't it be nice if chests could be dyed or have different colours depending on what wood you use? Im quite baffled that it hasnt been added yet! Imagine a sweet looking black chest... the amount of builds you could use them in would be great!

These boats with chest will actually come into the game! They were shown at the biome vote for the swamp update. Eventually it *will* make its way into the game!

This works great in terms of lore, roleplay, obtaining items, and just gemeplay in general! I especially like the cutlass because it's like chain armor, but in tool form. There's diamond armor and diamond tools, iron armor and iron tools, gold armor and gold tools, and now, chain armor and the cutlass!

If the chest boats moved slower than normal boats, that would make it more balanced so that normal boats don't get removed from the meta

I say Pirates Should be allies to villagers, or even better, they should be villagers that got tired of players stealing their loot and became Pirates.

Maybe there can be a bayonet crossbow; a crossbow doing extra melee damage (because of the bayonet). Maybe the Captain drops his own cutlass (or a new totem called "Totem of "Respect" or "Loyalty", giving you the respect of the Pirates. Maybe there can be different ranks of pirates but with the same spawn egg (swashbuckler, cannoneer, buccaneer, etc.)

This is so good, and even if I’m slightly late to the party, I think that a few things are missing from the mod ; -a whistle to control whether you want the parrot to be passive or aggressive (which would have a chance to be found in a ship’s chest) -a grappling hook or a rope to throw to easily raid the ships (to not make it too op, it could maybe only work on fences or something like that) -More diversity and hierarchy on the pirates and their ships. I’m definitely not criticizing, and your work is truly incredible

Loved the video @Systemzee! I'd like to see sailing ships in Minecraft! As in Caravels, Carracks, Galleons, Brigs, Brigantines, Barques/Barks, Barquentines, Schooners, Clippers, Ships of the Line as well as Frigates and Corvettes! You'd need to set up a decently sized Shipyard to build them, and Foundries to make the Cannons and Carronades. But not just that, you'd also have Muskets and Flintlock Pistols even the Sharpes Rifle within reach. You could even Recruit some of the Villagers to help man the Battle stations aboard ship, or even as Marines to either protect the ship from enemy Boarding Actions or land them to take an Enemy Stronghold. Make your own Uniforms for your Troops as well as fend off Pirate Attacks as even Village Raids. Speaking of which, I think since the Pirates are part of the Illager Family that they'd most likely be Allies and would probably lend a hand in Village Raids, especially when you consider that there will be times where you've built your base near or even in a Coastal Village and at least one of the waves spawns in the water, easy pickings for the defenders! Also, Painting the ship would be a nice and thoughtful part as most ships even today have a standard color scheme or pattern!

This mod is awesome! The only thing that it absolutely lacks is the separate Pirate Captain mob that drops his Captain Tricorn, which you could obviously put on.

I'd imagine the history of the pirate illagers is that their pillagers who decided to go out into sea to look for new types of magic and treasure when they discovered how to raise skeletons from the dead. They used sea skeletons to claim many rewards but after a while they decided they didn't want to rejoin the pillager's again and they severed all ties with them. Their still enemies of the villagers and have their own separate raiding system where if you kill the captain you get a pirate bad omen and if you go into a village, pirate waves will spawn through a magic water like portal and will both. kill the villagers and take their loot from their village chests close by and escape back through the portal with it. you can spawn both pirates and pillagers if you have both bad omens and the pillagers will try and attack the pirates and the pirates will try to take what they can and escape, if both raids are active, the pirates will avoid the villagers and just go straight for the crops and loot cause their not as strong as their counterparts and want to grab and dip back through the portal as fast as they can, the pirate portal is itself an entity and when summoned, it spawns a water source below it. All the pillagers except for the ravagers will ignore the villagers and go for the pirates due to them being seen as traitors to the pillager faction. If the player wants to defeat a pirate raid, they have to kill all the illager pirates that spawn and if all of the pirates are dead and not one manages to escape back into the portal, then the portal also drops some gold and emeralds when it dissapears, maybe a heart of the sea aswell as a rare drop. Pillager raids only happen if you are close to a villager but a pirate raid can not only begin if you are next to a villager but if you are next to a chest that you placed down and only if their is loot inside it, if their are no villagers close by and no more loot in a chest the remaining pirates will return back into the portal, leaving any sea skeletons behind and immediately ending the raid. The only reason they'd loot a chest that you didn't place down is because if a villager is close to a filled up chest, even if you didn't place the chest down yourself they'll see it as a village chest and steal the stuff in it anyway, or if you find a random spawned chest and fill it with stuff, it'll technically count as your chest and if you have a pirate bad omen on, the pirate raid will begin, the sea skeletons will attack you and the pirate illagers will book it for the chest, steal what's inside and return back through the portal, if you manage to kill all pirate illagers and there are still chest with loot inside, the next wave will begin. There are a maximum of 3 waves and the discount that villagers will give you isn't as great as the one you get from a pillager raid. pirate illagers will only draw out their sword in a pirate raid if their either attacking villagers, being attacked by pillagers or by you. if you the player attacks a pirate illager, if you are wearing leather, chainmail, golden armour then the pirate you attacked won't get back up from the other pirates close by but if you were wearing a stronger armour such as iron, diamond and netherite then they'll group up against you, knowing that one pirate cannot defeat you alone and needs backup if one is attacked. This prevents them from easily being picked off one by one and stand a chance against a strong opponent, sea skeletons that come from the portal will only focus on attacking the player, villagers or other enemy illagers but if necessary, the pirates themselves will swarm up on either heavily armed players, iron golems or pillager ravagers in order to defend one another but make it easier to kill a stronger enemy when one pirate can't do it alone. This always the pirates to have a chance of fighting but to not sabotage their main goal of stealing the village or your treasure because once the enemy that attacked them is dead, they'll go back to neutral and only focus on returning back to the water gate portal. If you kill a pirate illager that stole loot, half the loot it stole will be dropped upon death and if they make it back into the portal with whatever loot they stole, theirs a rare chance that if you raid a newly spawned pirate ship, theirs a slight chance that those items will be in a chest on the ship and you can reclaim whatever they stole back. it doesn't matter how many sea skeletons you kill in a pirate raid, if all the actual illager pirates are either dead or still not finished with their raid on the village or your base then the next wave will begin.

What if pirate parrots are a totally different colour, rarely spawn and are only loyal to you if they hatch from eggs that can be found in these ships, but you need to kill atleast 2 parent pirate parrots loyal to the captain?

Someone said you could also have merchant ships and I think it would be cool to have an equivalent of a wandering trader but for the seas, and maybe the pirates and merchants could have a similar dynamic as pillagers and villagers, where pirates raid merchant ships by appearing in oak boats around their ships. The pillager outpost equivalent would be their pirate ship. Also it would be cool to have a distinguishing look for the captain, the same way pillagers do with evokers.

I think should have more spawn eggs, like: Iron Golem, Snow Golem, Wither, Giant Zombie, Illusioner...

There is quite a nice idea but there could be a lot more things. Lets make this quick. We've seen drowned zomies, pirate skellys, But what would happen if you drowned a pirate. You bet an "undead pirate" Its simple. Its a drowned plus a pirate. Next is another new mob called the "Captin" This is a mob thats basiclly another boss battle. It has a lot of health and it very powerful. It spawns in the captins quarters. It is actually another mob that drops a totem. Finnally, a rare spawn called the raft. The raft is like a boat, but is moves faster and doesent break fast. When it spawns there will spawn with a villager on it. The villiger can be taken back to a villidge with a lead and if you do that you get 1: An advancement called "A happy return" and 2: get better trades from the villige. But if you find multiple villagers and bring them to an abanodoned villige and also build an iron golem you get the advancement "Revived" And the villigers have new desiegns with riped clothes. When they get in a villige though they will turn to normal but with a smile. Also theres one more small feture. If you drown a zombie villiger you get a drowned villiger. PS. You get an advancement called "Hero" when you killed all enimies on the ship and there would be a red axolotle and if you tame it you get the advancement "Red sus" which is clearly an Among us joke. Anyway This was an awsome vid I love the pirate idea, I clicked the like and sub buttons and keep it up.

Someone else mentioned ghost ships, I think it would be super cool if like with villages, there could be a pirate ship variant for skeleton pirates where the “wither pirate” could spawn. It would be super rare but an awesome find! Also, I think in terms of having the pirates and pillagers be friends/frenemies/enemies, I think it would be dope if you coded it so that normally they are tolerant of each other but if you spot them fighting one another (like how on occasion you see piglins killing hoglins in groups) you’d know there’s a rare loot chest or treasure somewhere within a 25-50 block radius of where they are fighting. The only way to get to it is to fight both the pillagers and pirates until they are all dead, because if you try to avoid them and go straight for the treasure/loot both mobs will attack you instead!

I absolutely loved this pirate idea! I had an idea of my own, and it sounded pretty interesting. It's part of the pirate update: Pirates like loot! But specific loot. For example, if you offer a pirate iron, they'll turn it down(ignore it) because they have enough of it (their swords). If you offer them coal, they'll accept it and take it (this is because pirates will have campfires in case they are deserted, and need fire to stay warm). Here is the coolest part of my idea though. Pirates will actually DEAL with you, depending on the loot you offer them. Here's how this part of the update works: If a pirate is chasing you, and you put either: a diamond, an emerald, gold, or crystals, in your main hand, the pirate will stop trying to attack. This is because they'll want to DEAL with you. Their deals will be better and better depending on the loot. Crystals, in my opinion being the best, can be traded for the following: diamond armor, diamond tools, potions, tnt, and enchantment books. The rest of the deals can be whatever. But yeah that's my idea of another pirate update!

It would also be awesome if the pirate parrot would scream or notice you in some way when a ship wreck / ship is nearby

I think should have keys in Minecraft, they should be used to lock doors, trapdoors, fence gates, chests, ender chests and Shulker Boxes.

When it comes to the whole pillagers vs pirates thing, I honestly would see them as frenimes. As pirates don't abide by laws and the pillagers seem more organized when it comes to things. Perhaps the pirates could be pillagers who didn't exactly fit in with the rest of the pillagers and went off on their own, raiding villages by the sea and plundering the vessels of others. Caring little for pillager authority and what not.

hey SysZ just a reccomendation instead of the skeletons turning into a block you should turn them into another entity instead. It would make it less cluttered and better for gameplay imo. or maybe make them stackable like sea pickles

Heres another idea for the mod New structure: Leading ship Leading ships are the ships that have the captain in them and they are ghost ships in the ocean which only spawn at night. You know your getting close to it when fog starts to appear New boss battle: Davey Bones Davey Bones is accompanied by the skeletons and summons more through the battle. (The rest is part of a mod I want to create.) Halfway through the battle Davey Jones summons the Kraken which starts shooting water and the rare chance of three squids. The Kraken also breaks the ship trying to knock you down. DON’T TRY TO HIT THE KRAKEN. Whilst the Kraken is immortal when being hit. Davey Jones and him are soul bonded, so the only way to kill both of them is by killing Davey Jones. After you kill him you will receive the first fitting gun in Minecraft “The Musket” And you can go in the captains Quarters to get the treasure chest(Bullets are crafted with gunpowder and iron nuggets.)

What if the ai was programmed to press a button that blows up the ship if it was the last of its crew? This would allow stress for you to either disarm the button or take the loot as fast as possible, (also maybe it could call backup)

Honestly this is such a great idea that I could totally see being added in the future.

An idea I thought of is pirates could be their own faction, kinda like witches, they don’t attack villagers pillagers or witches but they do attack players and iron golems, but also don’t assist in raids

The existance of "gunpowder" in Minecraft also suggests the existence of guns... *Pirate Flintlock* Damage slightly higher than that of a crossbow, but takes a few more frames to load. For ammunition, it uses iron nuggets + gunpowder + paper to form cartridges. You can also combine the flintlock with a sword in your crafting menu to make a bayoneted musket.

The pirate skeletons should only spawn in shipwrecks guarding and standing nearby the pirate ship or in ghost ships , The pirates could also have a sort of mini boss mob that you have to fight in order to gain an effect called "Pirates Omen" which is like bad omen but only works for villages near an ocean biome and could make pirate ships spawn near the coast and raid the village , there should also be pirate archers like the pillagers but pirates. And there has to be like a villager ship but the villagers are "good pirates" or whatever you call them but are hostile to anyone that enters their ship unless they have a cutlass or a pirates hat which could be dropped by the Illager pirates and they could trade stuff like buried treasure maps , stuff you find in buried treasure and ocean monuments. The good pirates should act more like overworld piglins where if you steal things from chests , they will attack.

Imagine when you fight them with a sword they can parry your attacks, and you can have sword fights. Also I would want them to look very different to villagers and pillagers, I don’t think they should be bald and have big noses, they should look unique, and also they could make “Arr” noises and stuff.
