Old disabled house bound dusty rusty rockhound here: Watching you slab these rocks brings back such good memories! I can smell the shop now! I'm so proud of you and Alexis. Y'all make me proud to be an elder in a fascinating community of younger people who are growing the field and mentoring others! Greetings to all our rockhounding friends out there... beauty is everywhere if you open your eyes!!! 👁👁
That Labradorite is breathtaking! It's been quite a journey to watch you go from "This rock is too big for my saw" to "this rock is too little for my saw" 😂
You really have a great pile of beautiful la labradorite and the tiger was unusual with the color combination. Can't wait to see how you make a cab put of them or at least the finished product. Thanks for sharing and hi to Sarah too. 😷⚒
Awesome! Thanks for sharing! I always love the purple too. When you cut lab and tiger eye, I would love to see you talk about the flash like you did, and then also show how you clamp it up in the saw, and how you make adjustments along the way.
Variegated Blue Tiger Eye is some of the coolest stuff. I have a piece that is almost transparent and is both dark blue and bright yellow, lets light pass through it and the amount of banding in it makes it stand out so much more than most of the Blue Tiger Eye I have bought. It looks incredible I plan on making a few silver/sterling silver rings with it for the whole family and friends. Im taking the best one, of course, if I can manage to even make some rings with the scrap silver and gold I have
Awesome slabs, nice variations and textures. Side note, you do know that the chatoyance is created by layers of crystallized asbestos running through the stone and is extremely hazardous to sand or carve without the use of water. I'm sure you already knew that but just wanted to make sure. Thanks for the video.
I love Laborite and tiger eye. I did not know that tiger eye was blue. I was online looking for beads for making bracelets and it showed blue & green beads. ❤
Those were all gorgeous! The lab slabs were insanely beautiful! Purple is my favorite color as well so I totally understand! But t I'm claiming one of those gorgeous purple slabs for myself! Insanely gorgeous! And the tigers eye was awesome as well, but messy! Lol! The blue with yellow and green is so pretty! Wow! It's going to be an intense day of bidding! Lol! Thanks for that wonderful cutting video. Too bad the dendritic opal couldn't be cut! It's such a lovely stone! But I think you filled it with labradorite just fine! Thanks Theo!
Anything with a play of colour gets me going hehehehehehe! After seeing Karen's fire opal faceted, I wondered if i could do that with my chunk of dendritic opalite 🤔🤔🤔
A question that has been brewing in my mind is,do you vent the mist that comes off of the rock saw?I have one near the outside of my house. We don't want to get the mist on the house,so we have't used it yet.Can the mist be captured somehow, and collected?A retort chamber,of sorts.
I'd like to get some small pieces of Labradorite to tumble. Where would I be able to find some? Where did you get yours? They are really big. I don't have the set up to cut anything.
