I have the same brush and I love it! Comfortable in the hand, love the rainbow look, and the bristles work the best out of any synthetic brush I've tried so far! Good choice!
Have you thought of wetting your opposite hand to the one with the balm/ skin cream on? This thins the cream and allows it to be absorbed evenly and quickly. I got that tip from Chris at ‘Another cut above’ on RU-vid, he does this with Codex skin food. I means it lasts much longer as well. 👏👏
The other option is to leave your face a little damp, which I think accomplishes the same thing. I am ok with applying a denser skin balm, no issues with taking a moment to work it in, but agreed - that is a good tip!

HA! To rub in your FACE, of course, that I have this supercool shaving stuff?? Also, SOME people can buy this stuff any day of the week, if they live in Uruguay, so just think about that -- it's the most normal stuff in the world for some, a mythical treasure impossible to get for others! The Dr Selby in the plastic container is open and set out as a bit of decoration in our other bathroom, and it still smells great two years later.

Depending on the base plates you get with the Karve, I think you will find the Karve (plates C-D) more comfortable than the Marvel, while the Marvel offers more blade feel and more direct efficiency compared to those two specific base plates. The Karve is certainly the better machined of the two, and I think the aluminum Karve looks amazing. Both razors do an excellent job, but I give the edge (ha ha) to the Karve.
@@mfreedberg yes Mike the German Bakelite slants was expensive on ebay and Etsy cost me a 100 dollars something that was a good shave by the way yesterday
@@mfreedberg Have you considered getting a Fatip Lo Storto? Fatip released a slant, and they have both a closed comb and an open comb head. I have the OC head, it has less blade feel than a Grande/Piccolo, but very efficient. Very comfortable on my skin.
