I wonder..Is there any way that you could use and old chainsaw chain with ...say a 36-inch bar...and carve an initial channel to/through the beaver dam in the culvert; kind of like a ditch witch?

Someone with a small backhoe needs to come and pull all the debris onto the shore and let it dry so it could be burned. Once it started to sython it makes a lot of noise. The bad thing then is all the loose stuff gets sucked back in the culvert.

Greetings from the BIG SKY. The only way you learn about beavers is to see how smart they are with your own eyes. Then, you can gain a respect for their enginuity.

Interesting thought here... While the 4-tine rake is good for pulling brush free on these beaver dams, a pitchfork might be helpful for 'shoveling' larger masses out of the water, rather than using gloves or trying to do it bare-handed.

Beavers are incredible builders.
