I made my first shirt for my son using a Mc Calls pattern and all went well until I reached the instructions for making the camp collar !!!!!! Thankfully Karina from Lifting Pins and Needles was there to lend a helping hand 😍 in fact , I use her tutorials every time I get stuck with a project, I cannot recommend her enough, she is a STAR.

Love the shirt your wearing. Your shirt inspired me to make the PE pattern in some fabric in my stash similar colour. I have plenty of other sewing but just had to make a shirt! Almost finished. Thanks for the inspiration!

Hello Kristen. The shirts that I will be sewing this year is the 'Vernon' shirt by Cashmerette, (the one with the covered button placket) I have made this shirt previously HOWEVER due to my larger wide chest it didn't fit and I am kicking myself because I love the fabric (printed linen from de Linum) yes, I know I should have measured myself previously... it is in my wardrobe in the hope that one day... it will fit. I am planning to make my next Vernon shirts from a gorgeous Lady McElroy fabric 'Holiday in Italy' and another printed linen from de Linum, and yes I will be making the right size this time. I also bought the I AM 'Lucienne' shirt as I have the fabric that you made yours from (that I bought off you). which will look great. Thank you for another great video (and I think I will also be buying 'The Makers Atelier' 'Ambrosa' shirt too, what a rabbit hole that pattern website is..... great patterns!!)

I have made 8 shirts from Assembly Line Patterns' "Oversized Shirt" pattern and I have four more already cut out to sew. I'm looking forward to making a Wakerie shirt by Muna and Broad - just to shake things up a bit!

Thanks so much Kristen so very helpful. Currently making my first shirt The Jenna shirt for my daughter. I paid extra for the sew along which is brilliant I can highly recommend. One you didn't mention which is very different and I'm thinking of making is the Leila shirt from The Modern Sewing Company.

Lots of lovely inspiration there Kristen - looking forward to seeing your Cousette disco checks shirt - beautiful fabric! My favourite shirts are the PE all in easy fit shirt - simple shirt with a great fit and instructions, and I also love my Closet core Jenna - I did downsize (2 sizes I think) shortened it and straightened the hem as I don't like anything too oversized, and it is perfect.The Style Arc Italia shirtdress is a great pattern and I have cut it shorter and made quite a few shirts from that pattern. Liesl and Co have some good shirt patterns too and I first learnt to do plackets with no dramas with her great instructions. Karina from Lifting pins and needles is also my go to if I'm not sure about something - she definitely is a STAR!

Hi Kristen, i am usually not a big shirt wearer and have only made one shirt dress ever. I do have a shirt pattern the Pattern Emporium All in Easy Fit shirt which is on my list to make. I get nervous doing buttonholes cos i have had some disasters in the past. Thanks for the great tips with the collar construction! A great run down of the different favourite patterns that you have.i love the Logan wool shacket of yours, so handy to throw over a tee shirt. You've inspired me to make one! ❤

love shirt making. Current fave is Marty, I like the version with a half placket and curved hem, wonderful for a large bold print as not broken up down the front and don't have to use more fabric and pattern match. Have made several from makers atelier, all good, will try the pleat back one soon. Also like the olya shirt, great for stripes.

Hi Kristen. Literally wearing my Pattern Emporium Easy Fit Shirt today 😊. I was wondering if you know what the interfacing is that I am seeing other sewist use, that can be ironed directly on top of. Everything I have ever used melts under the iron. It would be so much easier to have whatever it is. So glad I learnt to sew shirts. Pattern Emporiums shirt is how I learnt to sew them. Do you have a picture of the glue you were talking about? Thanks so much for this video. I love catching up with you ❤❤
