The song was written by (and was a tribute to) George Harrison - The third songwriter in the Beatles. Excellent live performance from a star studded line up.

This Concert For George took place in November 2002, in tribute to George Harrison (formerly of The Beatles and Travelling Wilburys) who passed away in 2001. I recommend you watching the full concert on DVD, it's one of the best and full of great performances of George's songs. It was wonderful seeing all the great musicians who gathered together on the one stage at The Royal Albert Hall, London to pay tribute to their friend.

George was such an amazing song writer.

The history of this song is unusual. Written by George Harrison about his wife, Pattie Boyd, who wound up married to his friend Eric Clapton. It is said 4 songs penned by Harrison were inspired by Pattie and 3 by Clapton ("Wonderful Tonight" is one you may know.)

Stars I saw up there were Ringo Starr, Eric Clapton, Paul McCartney, Electric Light Orchestra's Jeff Lynne , & others there to pay tribute to dearly departed George Harrison.

This was from the Concert for George on the first anniversary of George Harrison’s passing. George, the Beatle who wrote, sang and performed it with Eric and Paul on past occasions. Frank Sinatra thought it was the best love song written.

George Harrison wrote the song "Something" in 1969 and it was recorded for the last Beatles album Abbey Road. It is one of the most covered Beatles songs ever and even Frank Sinatra (who hated the Beatles) called it the best love song ever written. It is a song about George Harrisons wife at that time who later became the wife of George's good friend Eric Clapton. Geoge Harrison died in 2001 and this is a tribute concert for him shortly after he passed.

George Harrison loved the ukulele, that’s why Paul McCartney is opening up with it. By the way, I think Concert for George’s live performance of George’s “Isn’t It a Pity” (led by Eric Clapton and Billy Preston) is incredibly powerful and moving…hope one day you’ll view it here!

Great tune from " The concert for George"..The whole performance and concert was top notch. Made me sad though, another gone from my era. RIP Billy Preston "on organ" and Tom Petty " not shown in this song but him and his band The Heartbreakers performed as well at this concert.

The ukulele was because George always had ukeleles at his house for everyone to play them when they partied. They DID all sing this a thousand times together.

#1 song for The Beatles in 1969. Written and originally sung by George Harrison this is from the tribute concert to him after his passing. Besides Eric and Paul you can spot Ringo on drums and ELO's Jeff Lynn on backing vocals and guitar. The organist is their longtime friend Billy Preston.

GET WELL LULU. Paul McCartney And Eric Clapton | Something !!! This is one of the songs that was written about George Harrison's wife Patti Boyd. Eric Clapton was a friend of his. Eric also married Patti and Eric's song Layla Is about Eric falling in love with Patti while comforting her. George had numerous affairs?
