@@artisticskillz01 wow, I never thought of it like that. I was into garage from back in the day when it started of as “house and garage” - songs like Rosie Gaines Closer than Close. Born in 1980, my heyday was UK garage. I raved at all the best London garage clubs and was gutted when UK garage “died”. I always liked tunes with the dirtier bass and can hear the progression to grime that you pointed out. I like a bit of grime, but I moved from UK garage to UK funky house and didn’t really connect the dots. Thanks for eye (or should I say ear) opener.
I highly recommend checking out some UK Bassline stuff if you haven't already. I reckon listening to Heartbroken by T2 would be as good a start as any because that was the track which really got that style heard. Happy to recommend more tracks if you like. The more people listening the better.
