14:02 time for math class again. This time with student teacher Braun. 3.795 million divided by 349K is 9.2% of the entire Danish Population. 3.795 million divided by 2 is 1,897,500 Men. That number divided by 349K is 18.4% which is the number of Danish men that died
I'm so glad Paradox gave us a Focus Tree for a Nation that doesn't exist and added that nation to the game in the Arms Against Tyranny dlc. Definitely the most elaborate "What-If" scenario they've ever done.
I remember finding out that if you go concentrated industry + full welfare your base production starts at 0 and can't actually go up so you can't produce new stuff. That was a mystery that took awhile to figure out.
At 4:26 it's not a bug. At max welfare you have -10% production efficiency growth. When you start a new line you have 0% and then it goes up to max productiob efficiency rhat you have. In this case the growth is negative, therefore you will never start producing anything
To be honest, before paradox nerfed them, Denmark had the second best Arms against Tyranny focus tree, after Finland of course. But then Paradox realised that Denmark was actually fun to play, so they made sure you could only form 1 of the many formables of Denmark. Now they have the second worst Arms against Tyranny focus tree, just infront of Iceland.
paradox are so incompetent lol, they'll have something good on their hands and then completely ruin it somehow. a toddler could do a better job than paradox devs
@@honeybadger6275 Denmark created the North Sea Empire, and the Kalmar Union. They're THE nordic country. Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Iceland gained their independence from Denmark.
@@honeybadger6275 dumbest take you could have lol. "fun to play" doesn't = "meme levels of overpowered". it's also paid content. so it SHOULD be fun to be worth the price. no one wants to pay to play a country that can't do shit.
Its kinda funny how minor nations now have huge focus trees while the german and french tree are basically as old as the game itself, even with the alternative paths it still feels little
The addition of weird new mechanics like balance of power (especially for non-dictatorships, if it was a dictatorship-only minigame that works as a counterbalance to every advantage being a brown or red ideology gives you it would be pretty neat) is why I despise DnD system. More rules and mechanics rarely means better game. I genuinely hate when mods also add similar jank that often barely works for quite some time (e.g. OWB bottlecaps/trade routes, MD's budgeting etc) The balance of power for Denmark gives you base production efficiency at -10%. IIRC you start production at 10%. pause at 4:34 and you can even see the debuff listed. Someone at PDX thought it would be a good idea to give 0% efficiency (or maybe even negative one, I am unsure if the basest base one is at 10 or 5 %)
Here's a brief rundown on Denmark's history during the world wars: **WW1** Denmark: "Look, we're a small neutral country, but we have a strong army. Dont invade us." Germany: "Allright, seems fair." **WW2** Denmark: "Look, we're a small neutral country, and we dont really have an army, so we dont seem threatening. Dont invade us... Pls?" Nazi Germany: "You know what. I think I will inva-" Denmark: "We surrender."
Its been years since we last saw our beloved Rat. El Rato lives in our hearts as our lord and savior. But the evil ISP , standing for I Silence peasants , took him from us.
The reason he can’t produce anything is because the high welfare is -10% production efficiency gain and he has no other buffs to it. And when he starts the new line, it starts with 0% production efficiency so he never gains production efficiency, which endlessly keeps him at 0(producing nothing)
Imagine being one of the poor 16 danish soldiers to die, only for your country to surrender a few hours after you hit the dirt. Edit: better yet, imagine being danish.
Honestly paradox should just plan a whole overhaul of all focus trees to make everything feel equal, or make Hoi5 and replace focus trees with a completely different system.
The historical fate of Denmark is being militarily occupied, but being under the civilian government's oversight. Denmark becoming a puppet is not historical. Nor is Quisling launching a coup in Norway. Paradox would rather you not know this information.
Fun fact: It takes longer than 6hrs to walk from the German border to all the VP needed to cap Denmark, meaning that a DM with no army in HOI4 will "hold out" longer than DM did irl
I think the most fun I've ever had playing as Denmark after the new arms against tyranny DLC was released was when I went down the Communist path and defended against germany, never capitulating in the process. I was the one that managed to capture Berlin too, it was pretty great. Ideological loyalty is still busted as shit
Denmark AI ended WW2 once in a playthrough of mine. I guess Germany was so busy in Russia they forgot to leave any units in Germany and the Danes just marched into Berlin and shortly after Germany capitulated. Non-historical is fun
Hey ISP, idk if you've already done something similar, but I'd love a semi-in-depth guide on what you're looking for in good unit templates / equipment designs. I've got >1,000 hours in the game and STILL am just guessing! Love the content anyhow!
4:06 that man really said "Denmark has more than one democracy leader... Adrenaline in my soul Every fight out of control Do it all to get them off their feet Crowd is here, about to blow Waitin' for me to start the show Out the curtain, lights go up, I'm home WOOOOOOOAH!"
The reason you couldn’t build equipment was because your efficiency growth was at -10% so if you start a new line of production it’ll never go above 0 cus you got no efficiency
So ISP clicked the historical button at the start of the video to show historical focuses. I just checked and I don't have that in my game. is it cause I don't own all the dlc (I tried with Italy and I got by blood alone) or am I missing something?
asking sincerely as a danish person why the hell they added this focus tree, the literal only thing this country accomplished of value in the entire war was getting people *out*
