Longview is a cool town on the Columbia River!!! Love that area. We used to live on the coast of Washington and the PNW is wonderful we miss it there! Good times! Yes all the bridges are beautiful! Looking forward to seeing your images from the new digs!
Congrats on a happy move, and nice to hear about the podcast! I remember listening to every episode a few years ago when I got into photography, what an inspiration! We're visiting friends in Luxembourg at the moment, and while I've had fun with a 24-300 equivalent travel zoom lens on my Olympus PEN-F lately, I think I'm going to use my 35 and 90 equivalent primes when we head into the old city today, thanks for the reminder about 35mm!
Great video, Ted. I am glad you are enjoying the northwest! 35 and 50 are my go-to walking around lenses. These days when I'm just shooting for me, I reach most for my Asahi Pentax Super Takumar 50mm f/1.4 and put it on a 5D Mark III with Magic Lantern. I usually leave it on 2.8 or slower and snap whatever strikes my fancy.
Hi Ted, so good to see you. Major change man, but it'll do you good, I can see it in your face. Those B/W contrast shots are outlandish good. You know, if one would say, these shots are from the sixties, one could go for it, I love that so much. After your settled down I hope you find time to show some of your local shots more frequently (maybe some nice local models, cause you know how to pick them) I downloaded some of your model shots from the "Vegas girls", they were so vintage looking, still being very inspiring. Stay well my friend and till soon ! Thanks for sharing
Hey Rob, thanks man! Yeah, the change was actually a long time coming, but just made too much sense now. Feels really good to be back. Thanks again, man.
Glad to see you enjoying your new home Ted.I am English and on holiday for three weeks in the Italian mountains,Tuscany,it's just the same here, laid back and it is like going back to the 1960s.They have a supermarket but it is 10 miles away and many of the locals get their supplies from traders that turn up in a old Vans. Many of the cars and Van's are 20 to 30 years old.
Ted V., welcome back to the NW and to the Tube. Man, I’ve missed you so its real good to see you again. Love the entire video but the beach scapes really did it for me. Those and the one color shot of the Lunch spot. Yo T, keep plugging Brother! You remain the Man and the smoothest Brother on RU-vid. “Stay Safe and Be Blessed.”, Doc Chaps
Hey! Thank you very much. Yeah, I want to try and get to the coast as much as possible. And maybe shoot more color film this year. Again, I appreciate it, man. Thanks Doc.
Glad to see you here on the 'Tube again, and happy to see you shooting here in the PNW! If I see a guy who looks like you with a camera, I’ll be sure to say hello!🙂
I too love the 35ff look … my Fuji x100f gives it me. Plus the 35f2 on my xt5 takes me back to my nifty fifty Nikon film days. Congrats in going home I can only imagine the feeling. 😊
Well was hoping one of these days while visiting my sons in Vegas, we could all get together and do some street photography. But it sounds like you made a good decision for you…just keep posting. Both your music, and your photography.
Hey Ted! Man, I´m happy for you! I´ve watched all of your videos throughout the years, with this channel and with my private one as well. Always heard from you that you loved the Portland vibe and the north-west. I thought a lot about you in the last months, I always felt that something isn´t right and that you are about to change some things. Again, happy for you and your new life! It will be great and I hope we, your community, are lucky enough to see lots of videos from you in the future. Lots of things to photograph out there, lots of things to film! I am really looking forward to that. But the most important thing is you, seeing you happy, taking a new road, be with your friends and family, just being Ted Vieira. For now, all the best from Berlin, great to have you back! Peter
Hi Ted, lovely pictures, I especially liked the final image and would love you to do a collection of that type called Driftwood. Yeah. Respect and regards, Jake Everyman.
Great photos, especially those on the beach. Cool background music too. You said "love" so often, it seems to me you should stay in Longview for a while.
Hey Lawrence, yeah, those are actually two of my favorite photos I've shot in quite a while. (beach shots) I hope to get out to the coast as often as I can. Yeah man, I am definitely loving Longview.
Ted, all the best with the new adventure. The 262 images are very nice-who needs film anyway? (okay, we all do 😊). It looks like there's no shortage of photo opportunities in the area, both in town and out. Looking forward to seeing more as you (re)find your way around.
Welcome back to Washington! I've been in Vancouver, WA for almost 15 years. If you were in St. Johns, you must have been to Blue Moon. My favorite vintage lens supplier. Looking forward to your views of the area.
Greetings from London once more, Ted. The images are, as always, terrific. Not just for the technical aspect, or that they are black & white which is dramatic, but also for the chance it gives us to see new places, new and unusual buildings and of course, sculptures. Glad the move went smoothly and I know from personal experience how important it is to be with family so it is great that you can be with your brother. Once you get settled, will you look for a new place for yourself now, or maybe lease a small studio? Whatever you do, I wish you every success and look forward to seeing a lot more of your work and listening to a lot more of your music. All the best for now buddy.
Hey thank you so much! You couldn't be more right about family. Yeah, I'm probably going to be here for a few months, but at some point will think about moving to PDX. Gotta say, I am enjoying more of the small town vibe, day after day.
Hey Lawrence, yeah man, me too. Especially those two coastal shots are my favorite shots I've taken in a while. I'll definitely be in Longview, probably 'til the end of the year. We'll see at that point.... Thank you, man.
TV missed your base voice on RU-vid. Welcome back to the PNW. I’m up the road in Seattle. The sun is out. A great time of the year to be here. What a contrast from LV. Always loved your B&W images. Mask On Nurse Marty (Ret)
Ten years ago I visited my daughter in Seattle. Went on a brief visit to Vancouver. I have to say that the Pacific Northwest is a magic part of the world. All good things Mr V✌️🇦🇺
Welcome home, Ted! Went to 1st grade in Kelso. Had relatives in Longview. Vacationed as a kid out on Long Beach. Love & respect from the Salem area! Great pics & music as usual!
Good seeing you again Ted, was worried when the music and positive messages weren't being posted. Make the most of this chapter of your life. Enjoy the nature around you, aounds very nice!
Think CAREFULLY about moving to Portland. Weigh the pros and the MANY cons. I can actually see downtown Longview really taking off much like Astoria or Olympia has. Give it some time there and then decide. Always nice to have another Fuji guy and a guitar guy in the area!
Hi Ted, it was nice seeing you again. All the best in the north west to you. btw, what are your thoughts on a 28 mm? I'd like to consider one of the Q series by Leica Best wishes and compliments Carsten, Berlin Germany
