I played in the first weekend of the Rivals 2 Kickstarter Beta. This game is amazing, I love everything about it. Let me know what your thoughts on the game are, I would love to hear them. / @1tscyan
I'm hella excited! I have almost 2,000 hours in Rivals 1. I think the sequel is shaping up to be my favorite platform fighter ever. :] Rivals 1 has always been known for its fluid movement and incredible moveset design. Adding in more options for each character and additional defensive mechanics is going to give this game an insane level of depth.
@@GiGiTheCatjoy I totally agree! I can't wait to put a ton of hours into it and master the movement. I'm so used to turtling up in shield from smash haha
Happy to see how aether studios is trying new things for the game such as adding grabs, shields and even new types of specials. Im happy to see that rivals 2 feels like a completely new game instead of it trying to just replace the original. Though if I had to name my biggest complain it would be that the game feels way slower than the original, plus shields feel a lil too strong. My advice would be to make shields have less health that way it forces players to stop holding shield and instead try learning to parry. Also it seems a lil too easy to gimp out people recovering, since most of the casts recovery’s were never designed around there being ledges. My advice would be to maybe tweek certain recoveries or simply allow characters to wall jump the same way kragg can in rivals 2. Still I do believe that rivals 2 has a lot of potential especially for newer players transitioning from games such as ssbu. 💪🏼🔥
As someone from smash and who's been looking for other plat fighters during the last year (to escape nintendo mostly), this is the first one that really feel to me like it beats ssbu in every aspect (only arguable aspect is graphics as smash bros animation is a banger).
I get that it's definitely different, the game is still in beta but I'm not sure how much the visuals will change. I personally don't mind trading visuals as long as the gameplay is good, and I like how it looks so far. We will have to see how it ends up looking!
@@1tscyan i don’t anticipate the graphics to change much, the big change is from pixel art to a more cartoony multiversus sort of style. i can’t help but feel like it lost its charm.
@@bigmodebestmodeI do agree with you, but its also true that for some the pixel art style was a major turnoff for picking up rivals1. I do see that rivals 2 is trying to appeal to a more smash bros audience by adding things like shields and grabs to the game, so it makes sense why they opted for 3d graphics over 2d.
Most people just want pixel art lets be real here. The new mechanics are going to do better with this new engine. People can play r1 it's the same as people who played melee for years. Except Rivals has a better rooster. So why can melee player keep playing a game that's outdated when some r1 players can't?
