Simplest thing would have been by a dually pick up rear-end. Cab and chassis trucks use the narrow rear-end whilst the dually pickup has a full size rear axle!!!
We specifically wanted the cab and chassis narrow rear end. The Ozarks trails are extremely tight and not full size friendly. We need this truck as small as it can be but still big and strong enough to get the job done.
Wouldn't it have been 100% easier to Simply space the tires out about one inch on each side? The truck is not under a constant load so it would easily handle the wheel spacers
Easier yes, but we need to keep this truck as narrow as possible. The roads we have to travel are extremely narrow, this truck will already have a hard time fitting as it is
Shows lack of experience. Much easier to make wheel tub go all the way cross and still maintain structure. Now boom and head ach rack want fit more problems now
It would be easier to get wheel clearance that way but we still need to narrow the entire bed because it is too wide for our needs. We also have to rebuild the structure under the bed regardless because the bed is in pretty rough shape and we need it to be strong.
