I'm a London girl who moved to Inverness (next to Loch Ness) a good few years ago. You need to come here and get the proper locals experience. You'd be shocked at the most dramatic, beautiful countryside you'll ever see and still loads of bars and pubs and things. Whenever family come up to visit they're always shocked cause they expect it to be a backward little place that rains all the time but it's actually the opposite, so friendly as well.
