Ear infections can hurt a lot more when you're laying down. Try putting her mattress on an incline to ease the pain a bit. It also helps runny nose as well. Hope she's feeling better soon!

When my kids were bitty, I used to mix their meds into half a serving of pudding (you know the little pudding cups). Never had ANY issues with them taking meds... of course they didnt even know it was happening and gobbled it down. As they got older, and the medicine got "grosser", we'd mix a little strawberry syrup (for ice cream) into the cups for extra flavor. Helped a lot.

Oh my goodness! It's sooo cute! When Emma is looking back while climbing the stairs!!! She knows your there to catch her if she falls!! We have a 22 month old and he also looked back at us while he was learning to climb the stairs! I think it's a sense of security to know that they are ok!!! Omg! I can't get enough! My husband and I are in escrow to buy our first home. My advice, don't be discouraged if they don't accept your offer, there is a perfect house out there for you guys and someone will accept your offer if this isn't the one. Alternatively if they do accept it and you aren't 100% convinced don't be afraid to just let the house go. Trust your instincts!

When my girls were little our pediatrician told me that when they have an ear infection to get some pediatric nose drops and lay them across your lap with their noses pointed toward the ceiling and put the drops in. The hard part is that you should try to keep their heads back as long as possible so the drops can work to open the tubes in the ear and take the pressure off the eardrum which is what causes the pain. It really does work so well! It really helps to do this at night before bedtime so they can sleep better. Just a suggestion for you to see if it will help Emma sleep better while she has her ear infection.

Tilting the head of Emma's bed can make a huge difference in her comfort with an ear infection (or stuffy nose). Roll up some towels (or fold a few of them) and just lift up the head of her crib mattress then lower it back down ontop of the towels. If you incline it by about 2-3", that's about perfect. The first time we did it, I asked my daughter's dad to do it, and she just would NOT go to sleep that night. When I got home from class I went in to see her (I was breastfeeding at the time, so thought she may want me instead of a bottle). Low and behold he had it propped up so much that she was literally down at the foot of her bed. She went sledding instead of sleeping, haha! Oh, and I really think that Beau was trying to protect Emma from bonking her head on the bench instead of knocking her over on purpose. Not "Bad Beau"... "Beautiful Beau"! If the medication is not flavored take it back and ask them if they can add flavor. I think it costs $3 but SO WORTH it to get her to swallow it. My son loved the strawberry flavor and it smells like strawberry Fanta. If you can't get it flavored you can give her a little spoonful of sugar free chocolate syrup before the medicine and it will coat her mouth and throat for when the medicine goes down.

Aww bless her! My husband had a deep ear infection earlier this year and it wasn’t nice at all. He was so dizzy and his balance was all off but once those antibiotics have been in the system for 48hrs the symptoms get better. I hope she gets better soon 💕

I am seriously the same way about family pictures. I look forward to them every single time! We do them at least once a year, but since our kids are all so close in age it feels like we have had them at least 2 times a year. I never regret it either

Ok two ways to give an infant medication she won’t like it and she will scream cry and spit it out.... speaking from experience!!! And of course whatever way you find is easier for you!! 1. Lay her in your arms and insert the syringe by her check and push medicine little by little that way she won’t spit it up and you know she is getting all of it. Another way is similar but this time you blew some air to her face (it will look like you made her lose her breath) but that is the trick so she won’t have time to think of what she is swallowing.... it worked for me! But again your Emma’s mom and will figure a way to give her her medication! Just wanted to share my way!! I can’t believe she is almost 1 😱😱 so excited ❤️❤️❤️

That’s cool that your face cleaner cleans 6x more than using your hands! I bet that really helps!

Glad you took her in and hope she feels better soon. One time I took both of my girls in...one had a terrible cold and sore throat and I wanted to make sure it wasn't strep throat. My other daughter just had a stomach ache. Turns out the stomach ache was a symptom of strep and my other daughter just had a cold and no strep. Weird huh?!

My boys were born in 1980 and had a ton of ear infections and tubes. We went through gallons of Amoxicillin and moved on to Augmentin which is amoxicillin with another medicine added. All the antibiotics my kids got were flavored when we got them. If both boys needed them they gave us 2 bottles, one without water and said to add water to the second bottle when we were done with the first one. It helped that I was a medical assistant, then a transcriptionist and worked for the healthplan. After the babies were born, anytime one had strep they gave us antibiotics for all since we know it's just a matter of time before it gets shared. Good times.

You can write the homeowner a letter and include a family picture. Our realtor suggested that and the homeowner said they picked us because of that! Good luck! Such exciting times!! Praying Emma feels better fast❤️

I don't know how it works in the US, but we bought a house here (Canada) a year ago and we put in an offer by like 6:00pm and a few hours later it was accepted. Crazy! And I think we were the first ones to view the house too. It blew my mind how fast everything happened. Good luck to you both though! :) Owning a home is a lot of work and responsibility but totally worth it because it's an investment and you can make it your own!

We gave our son medicine through a medicine pacifier from Amazon. There’s a little cup for the meds to go in, and he basically just sucked on it until it was gone. After he no longer took a pacifier, we just shot the medicine in his mouth with the syringe, and while it may have taken him by surprise, he took the meds.

Lightly pinch Emma's nose when you're giving her the antibiotic or blow in her face as you're giving it to her. It'll make her swallow it fast. 👍 A dr gave me that tip when my kids were babies & it worked like a charm! 😀

My kids pulled their ears to relieve teething pain, never pulled it due to an infection. I would take them to the pediatrician convinced they had an infection, only to be told it was due to teething pain. Finally figured it out with the third kid so I'm passing it on. Hope she feels better soon! These summer colds going around really seem to lead to secondary infections this year.

Rachelle, your face brush is giving you a healthy glow. I want one. Poor Emma, she’s being a trooper with her earache, those are so painful. I hope she feels better soon. Did meds come with dropper? Those were easier to use when my kids were young. ❤️ u guys!

I had a daughter who used to get dreadful ear infections (which used to burst her eardrums as the antibiotics did not work quick enough). How I ended up stopping this from occurring is I started using a herbal remedy which will work in only 1-2 days (antibiotics often take 5-7 days). If you crush a garlic clove and then mix it with and leave it in a desert spoon amount of warm olive oil for 2-3 hrs, then strain out all the bits with some muslin cloth (or part of a sheet). Its now ready to use and can be put into a small bottle . Use a ear dropper to pick up the strained olive oil, put into the ear and massage just under the ear. Do this a couple of times a day and that ear will be fixed real quickly. (you can test it on her wrist first to make sure the garlic oil doesnt cause a rash but this is okay for most babies, if it pinks up her skin at all just add a bit more oil to it). When I discovered this works great.. my daughter never needed antibiotics again with her ear infections where as before this she was always having to have multiple antibiotic courses (and fortunately in a couple of years outgrew her issue). Dont do swimming lessons until her ear is better.

Ugh ear infections are the worst. My daughter got a nasty one around the same age. Also the bad Beau cracks me up. Especially because my daughter was doing it too. 😂😂

You can put the antibiotics into a tub of yoghurt or something she likes to eat. My son (he’s 21 now) had ear infections all the time but he would never take medication as a toddler. It was a game changer when the doctor said put each dose in yoghurt or puréed fruit. Just try that if you cant get Emma to take it. I hope she feels better soon 🌸🐨🌸

Maybe try making a small bottle like an ounce and put it in that to be sure she drinks it all! That is what some of the parents do at the day care I work at!

Let's see. As a Peds nurse there's a few tricks of the trade. Some babies will take the meds in a bottle nipple. Or squirt it farther back while pinching her cheeks in so she can't spit it out. Or keep her mouth closed so she has to swallow. There'sany tricks! And each child is different.

My son had sooooooooooo many ear infections and the doctor told me that if his nose was very runny give him benedryl I guess it helps keeping the sinuses from getting clogged (leading to ear infections)

My daughters hate medicine! So I put it in a bottle with a little bit of milk or juice or I dip a lollipop into it and they never know when they are taking medicine 😂

It’s Amox clav which is augmentin its not amoxicillin. Should be flavored orange try putting it in the cheek towards the back. It can’t be flavor after already mixed. Same with being put into liquid it could mess with the dosing so might not be as effective but if that’s what needs to be done and she drinks all of it. Amoxicillin is bubble gum flavored my kids enjoy that much better. But the amox clav has an extra additive to help it with overcoming the bacteria resistance
