SO WE'RE MOVING TO VERMONT | VLOG 

Watched half last night and half today! You already know how much I love this!!! 🥰 The leaves towards the end of the video are unreal wow 🤩

I grew up in Vermont and have to say, the winters can definitely be harsh, but it is so worth it for the beautiful Fall, Spring, and Summers. It almost makes you appreciate them more! I’ve also definitely noticed that winters have become more mild than when I first moved to the area (thx climate change 😭), but definitely be prepared with cold weather gear! So excited for you guys!!

I’m New England born and raised and went to undergrad in Vermont! when I first started watching your videos, the first thing I thought was “she could be a Vermonter for sure” - you’re going to love it so so much!

you guys might really like pennsylvania!! it has a similar northeastern vibe with tons of historical towns & farmland, with pockets of urban newness & such. and the winters are much more mild but fall is just as beautiful here!!!!!

I lived in NH for most of my life, and always bopped over to VT for shopping and events and all sort of stuff! Their school districts are amazing, and it’s a great place to grow up. The winters can definitely be harsh, but it’s completely worth it!

my family has had a house in Wilmington for 10 years and when it cut to you guys driving through the town it made me SCREAM!! I was just there last weekend😭 and I could 100% see you in Brattleboro it’s one of my favorite towns💛

Omg this was a throwback for me and my husband when we would road-trip to where he grew up (rural Southern NH) and would drive those roads and always stop at Hogback 🥺❤️ this was such a nice vlog. We’re considering heading out to VT/NH soon so hey maybe we’ll see you around someday!

Homesteading in winter states is alot of prep work, it makes the harvest season busy and purposeful! I have lived in Maine my whole life and while winters can sometimes be difficult you find things that make it fun like ice fishing, cross country skiing, or just accepting the slower times to relax! I went to college in Burlington, VT and it was the best decision I’ve ever made in my life. I visit once a month since I’ve graduated because it’s literally my home away from home. Burlington, williston, winooski, shelburne, essex, all amazing towns!!!

I've lived in Vermont for the last four or five years and it is SO weird seeing you, someone I've watched and felt like a friend for so freaking long my guy swing on the swings I walk down to in fall by the lake and be in the same neck of the woods. I lived in southern Vt for 10 years growing up! It’s a beautiful place to live, but when picking towns, just be aware of how accessible things are, especially in the harsh winters. Winters used to last from basically Halloween and would snow sometimes through late May!!!!

i live on coastal maine and its been an incredible & wet summer/fall for mushrooms !!! my partner & i have had such amazing forest feasts this year :) these new england forests are such a great place for foraging - hope to see yall enjoy them :0

I went to uvm and also have family in vermont!! Montpelier is definitely one of my fave little towns, there’s a beautiful river running though it and plenty of little farms/homesteads in the surrounding areas. Happy yall are getting to experience vermont 💚

I cried when you were driving through Brattleboro. I have so many memories there from when I lived there years ago. My fiancé lived there for years and I moved up there with him from North Carolina where we lived and walked to downtown Brattleboro almost every day. I absolutely love Brattleboro and I miss it so much. We ate at Chelsea Diner so much. We tried to move back up there this year but it didn’t work into our budget. Brattleboro will always have a special place in my heart. I love Vermont and it’s amazing being so close to Boston, my favorite city! ❤️

Born and raised in New England! I’m from Southern Maine which is an AMAZING and coastal place with less harsh winters than our northern Vermont counterparts! I took 2 years of undergrad in Vermont and LOVED IT!! I’m headed back in November to stay with some friends from my time at college and to take in the scenery again. If you ever vacation to Maine I really hope I find you to show you the beautiful state.

It’s wild when I first watched this I had the same dream of moving there but it seemed distant. Today I have an interview that could make this a reality! Manifestation baby! I haven’t ever been so nervous/excited for a fresh start in a beautiful place

I live in upstate New York about 30 minutes from VT, and It’s definitely one of my faveeeeee states to visit!! it’s so beautiful there at all times of the year and the towns are quaint and cozy 💛💛

I was screaming seeing you go to places I've grown up around and been to, I live in Plattsburgh NY right across the lake which is a super cute town if you ever want to visit I'd love to be your guide! But seeing you at Higher Ground, on Church St, Chazy (not far from me at all lol) was so surreal. It also was cool hearing the perspective of someone who wasn't from the area, I honestly don't plan to move for a long time cuz there is something special to this part of the country. I live in Colorado and have always wanted to live in Vermont. It’s hard to leave such a beautiful state for another though. So excited for you!

SO about the boats lol, you put them on a trailer, sometimes it can already be converted into a trailer, then there's a ramp that goes into the water and you back the trailer into the water until the boat starts swimming pretty much, remove the boat, then drive up the ramp again to get the trailer back out. This is for smaller ist boats, for really bigger ones they have small cranes :)

Meghan and Finley thanks for sharing the fotage from your trip. I enjoyed every minute of this video; so much so that I actually watched it twice. Meghan thanks for being authentic; RU-vid needs more content like this! With that said, I am a bit bias because I too am planning on moving to North East, US. I was born and raised on the East coast and I moved to the Mid-West to attend graduate school. The pandemic has truly amplified what I want, and what I do not want in my life... Needless to say, I am very excited to relocate! Also, I can't wait to get back into skiing (cross-country and downhill), which I use to do in that area. Funny that your video just uploaded because I was planning on going on a spur-of-the-moment road trip up the East coast next week because I wanted to check out several of the states in that area. However, I rescheduled my trip for December after seeing the crazy skyrocket hotel rates. I quickly got the memo that now is not the time for the random trips. I work in a specialized field so I plan on working in the city but live in the suburbs. I love living close to nature while also being less than a 1hr car drive from a metropolitan area. Also, having access to more culturally diverse areas with a wide variety of retail/grocery stores is a must for me. Not to mention, I like having access to increased job opportunities and income. Lastly, I totally agree that if you want to relocate you have to put in the work. Oftentimes people on social media portray moving to another state as effortless, which isn't reality!

I love Burlington!!! Just camped there this past august, took a boat out on lake Champlain it’s so beautiful I’m so excited you’re moving to VT! I’m from mass but Vermont is one of my favorite states! 💖

I'm in Massachusetts and grew up in New Hampshire. Even though I'm biased I can honestly say New England is the best area to live (though it can be expensive but everything is these days). We don't have wildfires, tornadoes, sometimes we get hurricanes but not too bad, and the best foliage. If you can survive the winters (still fun like skiing , snowboarding etc), you'll love it. Vermont is also the healthiest state in the US! I can totally see you fitting right in.

Vermont and the areas you visited look soo pretty!! The amount of ticks and potential lyme in that area scare the YOU KNOW WHAT out of me though

I live in Wisconsin and it’s pretty miserable outdoors January-March, but I find it to be a favorite time of year for indoor activities I put off the rest of the time. I love to read, bake fresh bread and make pasta from scratch, weave tapestries and care for many houseplants, start spring seeds indoors, and make candles. I join a hot yoga studio ever winter, too. Having a snow blower for the driveway and a long down coat are musts for me!

I lived in VT for 2 years and it was a wonderfully beautiful experience

i stayed in a hipcamp in brattleboro area over labor day weekend and as we were leaving a farm nearby we saw bernie sanders in a parking lot and screamed.. peak vermont experience lol
