Nice version overall, but I struggle with change of the first note in the to from D to G. I get that you can't play the line in that octave and hit the first D (without detuning), but it just doesn't sound right to me. I simply play the line an octave up. I play it along with our bass player and it sounds great together (we do a Latin jazz version, we make the rhythm totally straight, no swing).

Great video congratulation! How did you get that tone? Amp setting? Volume and tone of your guitar? thanks a lot!

It's a 1973 Gibson ES-175 through a Fender Tone Masters Twin Reverb and a Strymon Flint reverb. Treble, mids, and bass are all set to 2.

Here one question?according to you,can a person become a great jazz player even without learning staff notations..or is it compulsory to learn... pls help...
@alifadzlan8676
@alifadzlan8676 Год назад
If you would like to play great like him, a practice to the standard tabs are enough. Staff notations and other things like music theory would make you a complete player, but hard work and standard numbering tabs will do the job.

Could you kindly give me the tone setting of your amp while playing R. Jordan's "So What" version? I have the same amp and I find the sound very nice. Thanks Vincenzo
@JazzGuitarOnline
@JazzGuitarOnline 7 месяцев назад
Treble, Mid, and bass are all set to 2,5, but the way you dial these in are highly dependend on your guitar.
