the show is definitely a source of lots of memes in anime communities. It's got a lot of good reaction gif worthy type things. The chika dance was idk if I'd call it a meme but really popular there for a while you'd see so many people doing it in cosplays or making animations of other characters doing it etc

15:26 SAME. I can't stand love triangles. The little bits of Kaguya being jealous of Chika doesn't count because it's all in her head, so it's really funny. But actual love triangles... I can't. Absolutely hate it

I will make an exception for if a love triangle is written really well and is exploring how messed up the situation is. I can't stand the versions where characters A and B are the main focus and character C is pretended to have an actual shot at disturbing that. That kind of thing happens way too often for my liking. Though, spoiler alert, this series does allow love triangles with the side characters with Maki being the most miserable cute bean in the show, lamenting her missed shot at being with Tsubasa (the boy that asked Shirogane's advice back in season 1 episode 2) and plotting to break up the couple in hilariously inept fashion. It's funny and kinda cute, I'm mostly happy it's simmering in the back rather than the main plot.

Your comment about getting SpyxFamily vibes was funny, because when it aired there were memes about the 2 casts being the same (the Spy x Family cast being the older version), there's even lots of fanart of the Kaguya cast dressed as SxF!

Kaichou's comment about pubes is a reference to Japanese obscenity laws which specifically prohibited any depiction of pubic hair even if the babymakers themselves weren't depicted. IIRC it ceased to be law some time in the 90s but is still culturally taboo.

Fact: at this point in the story, Rubí and Aqua are 10 years old, meaning that at this point 6 years have passed since Ai's death, so when Miyuki and Kaguya were 10 years old was when Ai died.

I feel like the SOL elements are just better in this show compared to Spy x Family, and also more funny. Not to mention these characters are actually kids/teens, where as Spy x Family expects us to believe adults (who are basically superhuman) act that way

1) Episode 3 with Alabama stuff still gets me everytime, it's like going too far as a joke but it's also cute to see they are so innocent 2) Chika Dance was really popular for a while ever since the episode aired in Japan and totally deserves it 3) I live in France and yeah, it was (still is ?) considered the most otaku country after Japan 4) The first words the lady says in French are ""Bonjour! Merci pour votre invitation d'aujourd'hui" which means "Hello! Thanks for today's invitation" 5) I'm not a Spy X Family fan, I think it got popular because of its family-friendly theme. I watched Kaguya-sama way before and I like it better. If you want to watch a comedy/romance "Maid-sama" is really great despite being old now, I wanted to watch it again too

Nobody ever seems to get the real conclusion of the forbidden word game. It's pretty much the same as the 20 questions. Everyone focuses on Chika winning the game, but miss the fact that it was Kaguya that assigned Miyuki his word. Miyuki won 20 Q's because he understood Kaguya and Miyuki was "totally defeated" because Chika won the game AND Kaguya demonstrated her understanding of him. On the other hand, he did achieve his initial goal of arranging a shppoing date so I'm not sure it should have been called a "total defeat".

I mean...there kind of is tho...! (SPOILER) ... All the Ishigami stuff with Tsubame and Iino(an later even Osaragi) and also kinda Shirogane/Hayasaka and Kaguya/Mikado, also the whole stuff with Maki and that couple

@@anirac1506 I can see it with tsubame/iino/ishigami but to me it's not really the case because one of the girls (tsubame) never liked the guy. And there is nothing between hayasaka and shirogane. And mikado liked kaguya but she never liked him. Besides, there wasn't really enough focus on this part of him. Same with maki, tsubasa doesn't love her, or isn't hesitating. To me a love triangle is more than a character loving another one, who is already in a couple, and in a one sided-way.

33:00 Spy X Family may be popular but honestly it's not that funny. I can think of only 2 gold mines of comedy, with Bazooka Bill and the wanna-be spy of episode 19, nothing else. The people who enjoy the show are probably watching it more for the moe, you know, Anya and the dog acting cute. Because regarding comedy, there are way more hilarious slice of life shows, besides Kaguya I can recommend Grand Blue, for instance.

Spy X Family first half is trying to do too much and the slice of life parts are the weakest. But it becomes better focused about half through. It's worth it to keep watching.

Spy x family isnt as good as people say. Its slice of life feels like a waste of time. The manga is even more infuriating. I genuinely don't know how spy x family got so popular. Its mediocre.

Same for me, with the absurd hype behind it I was expecting something amazing but got just a plain slice of life that's not impressive at anything. I dropped it halfway through the first season
