Companies like EA, and Blizzard are worse than we thought with the way they market their games. Using E3 Fails, and Blizzcon Fails, they get people to buy an unfinished product. People like Internet Historian, Girlfriend Reviews, and VideoGameDunkey , or Dunkey, have discussed this pervading issue in the past, but I wanted to come at it from a more unique angle. We even see this at Nintendo Direct, or with the whole Dead Mario Meme.

Just to give people an idea how a celebrity can skyrocket the popularity of a product. After the E3 2018 Cyberpunk gameplay demo(which was fake btw), cyberpunk sub reddit had around 70k members. After "Keanu Reeves" reveal at E3 2019, the sub reddit went berserk. it crossed 300k mark in few months & subsequently crossing 800k mark as well Seriously, This channel at least 500k subs if not a million

It pains me that every thing you said in this video is true. I just wish games would be made with gameplay in mind. The money will follow regardless as a triple A studio. They fail to see that playing the long game would even bring more profit to the table by actually bringing out a good game and people remembering your name, trusting you and buying the next game regardless. That's exactly what happened with CD PR with the Witcher and cyberpunk and they knew the community would cough up all their money. Hell I don't care if cyber punk would have come out in 2030, but as long as it's a masterpiece, the wait would have been worth it

It's baffling how boring live service games are. All the franchises that turned into live services only have a fraction of the content that their predecessors from a decade ago LAUNCHED with. Best way to visualize it, we used to get the full puzzle set at release. Now we get a corner of a puzzle at launch and wait a year hoping they'll finish the fucking puzzle before the next one comes out. Either we get a couple pieces every couple months, or if you're EA you just leave it entirely. Then a lot of the puzzles are just garbage that aren't worth being pieced together anyway.

Ok so games are either under-developed or the crunch crunches the team into cheerios and they barely deliver. Or they just fix it. Or, even rarely, they make an actually good game. Fun fact:Fortnite devs cracked 90 hours a week for the updates and stuff
