I started 3 days ago. 2 days of my training the barista trainer was really nice and patient. 3rd day training new barista, totally opposite, she didn’t say anything much she just handed me the Starbucks recipe book.
Yea unfortunately there are some trainers that forget what it’s like to be a new person and they get frustrated super easily. Those type of people shouldn’t be trainers but there are people like that everywhere and you just gotta figure it out! You can do it! Just be Patient with yourself and don’t be hard on yourself if you mess up! It happens!
I'm currently 2 weeks in training at a Starbucks kiosk in my grocery store, and am honestly overwhelmed and stressed. Not only do I need to get the (basic) drinks down a pat AND work faster like you'd mentioned employees will request of you, but on top of that I have to be able to prep/maintain/setup/do CAP for the kiosk... And one day very soon on my own. And I feel like they just keep throwing one new thing to remember after another when I still haven't even gotten the basics down confidently, let alone the register. And what's more this particular kiosk is constantly having some sort of malfunction due to the equipment not being taken care of. I honestly feel like it would take me about 6+ months to get anywhere near my coworkers' level of confidence (which tbh they're all really sweet and considerably patient with me during my training), but it makes me feel mentally drained at the thought that all of this needs to be done in a month by myself.
I’m literally going through the same thing, I’m on week 2 and I’m super overwhelmed with everything & drive thru is making my anxiety so bad my trainer isn’t the most patient which doesn’t help either
@@everythingatpeace8873 ugh, sorry about that. I've had people like that with me; both in training for a job or teaching me. Like putting pressure on you like that to remember every little thing within a very small window of time + an impatient person who can't sympathize with you and what you're going through builds. It's honestly why when I got better in other jobs where I was more comfortable after sufficient training and teamwork, I made sure to help new people as much as possible; even if they weren't fast or completely accurate.
I was going to but I couldn't! I do plan on going back once he turns 16 months because that is when he can start the certain daycare I want him in! lol Right now I'm just babysitting until then!
Hi Desire'! I start my first training day at Starbucks tomorrow and I've been watching these type of videos for weeks now and i'm so excited to start in person and physically start working rather than just watching videos lol. Your video was the most useful because you actually teach us about the job rather than just showing us you at work making drinks and showing your day in the life as a barista, Those videos are useful in a way as seeing how their day Intel's of and see what were going to be doing and getting into but I like how you really went deep into the shot and syrup amount! Thank you so much and if you have any more advice please let me know! ****FOR ANYBODY ELSE WHO MAY BE A BARISTA OR STARTED ALREADY & HAVE ANY ADVICE FOR MY FIRST DAY OR WEEK OF TRAINING OR JUST ABOUT THE JOB IN GENERAL ID GREATLY APPRECIATE IT!****
Awesome! I’m so glad I could help! I noticed there wasn’t any videos when I searched a long time ago so I figured I would make one! I hope you are doing well in the job!
@@desireheldenbrand2353 I finished my first week of training, I learned espresso bar, & cold bar so far & espresso bar is sooo confusing & frustrating to learn lol. Im really good at cold bar! This coming week I'll be doing drive thru order & drive thru register & I think I'll also be good at that since I'm experienced in it!:)
Your so sweet, very helpful and useful information. Thank you for making this video. I will be working there next week. I hope to master these drinks one day. It really helps open a part of your brain. For all these years back again into the barista world, everything is so new. Wishing you the best in life.!!
i was totally rushed through certification just so the trainer wouldn't look bad. like how teacher just pass students even when they are failing just so they don't look bad to administration. she literally made some of the drinks for me and I didn't even make any fraps or custom drinks, just basic hot bar and basic shaken teas. then on the first day, the guidebook i was told I can refer to isn't even available, did somebody take the friggn guidebook home to study on their own? where the heck is this guidebook? plus they are irritated if i ask any questions its my first friggn day! also the people I am learning from are screwing up, so my teachers are literally screwing up the drinks! i am just going to stand on oven until they bring the dang guidebook for me to study, not wing it with a bunch of people who are impatient and can't even makes drink properly on their own
The abbreviations come with time! Since this comment was 3 weeks ago I’m going to guess you are better now 😂 sorry about that! The app has been updated since I left so it has changed. I won’t be able to help with that! Hope everything is going well for you!
Haha! They aren’t all crazy! Just some people who think everyone should know their drink even if it’s their first day 🙄 lol. Just brush them off and move on! It’s still a fun job!
Thankyou so much very helpful. Congratulations I seen your baby on your pic. Lovely so pleased to see after you said IVF. 💞💞💞💞 May Allah SWT Bless you and your family.
@@desireheldenbrand2353 yes ill call or text them If I reach 2 weeks which is on friday because i searched that up it is better to call them between 1 to 2 weeks. Anyways thankyouu!! 💖
I know they have cards on the wall that show all the tasks! I honestly never looked at them tho! I work best in routine and I just knew what I needed to do at certain times!
I mainly made this video to help people who want a job at Starbucks for their IVF benefits. But it can be helpful for just normal people who already got a job there 😁
@@leigheaux928 I love it!! First two days you might feel overwhelmed because it’s all new but you get the hang of it, tills and making drinks are really easy don’t worry you got this fr
@@Carla-fv2wp I just got home from my first shift! I learned register and oven and a littleee bit of the till!! I actually really enjoyed it. It got a little busy so sometimes all of the stickers printing for food can be overwhelming but I got through it :) thank you!
Why can’t they? Training periods at ANY job can be pretty stressful and tough. But if you just keep practicing and “studying” you can get it and it will, like all things, become easy 😁
