Just sorted my dart. Using this stuff works wonders. Gas being the price it is, I used a glass herb jar on a mesh over a tealight (candle). Kept water at temperature high enough to keep the bubbles rising. I used about 3 tealights.
I've used this method twice & it worked like a champ both times. I used it on some 21g red dragon freestyles (had a black coating) the 1st time & it did remove the black coating but oddly enough the green paint in the grooves was unaffected...I actually prefer the silver barrel so I performed the same treatment on the other 2 barrels. NOTE- it does not take long to remove the coating, I can't remember for certain how long but I think it only took one or two hours. I do remember it taking about 8 hours the last time I had a broken point though (20g Unicorn Blue XL 95's)....I'm thinking maybe my solution was not optimally mixed. Anyway, I think it's a brilliant method...thanks for the video!
Thanks for your kind words. interesting about the coating, I looked into it and I believe it was because the Freestyle barrels are coated with PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) witch is a very week coating, while my Kronos darts are coated with Titanium nitride witch provides a much stronger coating. thanks again for your feedback Lazarus.
I tried this method once with one of my Target Rob Cross darts. It worked but it left my barrel looking like shit! I also tried the white vinegar method on my Red Dragon Amberjack 18’s and that took two months!!
@@untitledsportsentertainment I probably just did it wrong. Your video wasn’t out yet so I followed another one that used a crockpot. That’s probably why.
I have same problem but the big problem is my dart from target darts and the point is swiss point and he broke from the top and its impossible to remove it .. anyone ha e idea about this ?
yes of course, if you had a suitable container to make this happen, but a smaller vessel will hold less solution & therefore more susceptible to evaporation. with this method the heat of the solution is critical. If you need to replace solution the temperature of the solution will drop and result in an even longer cook time.
