The bicycle nailed, home run bulls eye, hit for six, slam dunk,jackpot.I did a group ride a year or so back in the UK. We set off after lunch stop and passed a bike shop that had £10000 racing bikes on display. The ride leader told us that " these are the bikes that everyone wants". I said that I did not want one. He told me that that was because "you haven't got £10000"!!!!

They swallow all the bullshit marketing from the manufacturers who tell them what they ”need”... They pay crazy amounts of money to cut a few grams... And then they make videos and write articles to complain that the bikes are too expensive... The only group of customers I know who are so guillible and ready to pay big money for extremely diminishing return is the world of audiophiles...

You sold me folders. I now have four, I like you can buy them for cheap, and if someone should steal one, well, they are welcome to the ride home. You definitely don't need a brand, but good tyres are tubes are a must. Keep up the work on the channel.

Each to their own. I spent £2,400 on a Tern Verge X11. 7 years ago. Alot of money right. But here's the thing. I don't drive. That's my only form of transport inside London. And over the last 7 years it's saved me over £25,000 in travel expenses. So it's paid for itself 10 times over. It's super quality and there isn't a hill it cannot climb without killing you. And nothing has needed maintainance or replacing in 7 years accept tires chains and a few cassettes, chainrings. As the saying goes you get what you pay for. If you only want to ride 30 or 40 miles a week. Sure get a cheap bike. But if you are going to ride 2 to 3 hundred miles a week. And it's your ONLY transport. The quality will show itself. With the fastest most efficient stable ride you can get on a folder. And that be a Tern verge X11...

I agree with all you say, my folders are used and abused, left under hedges and chained to street furniture sometimes for days ata time., for that reason alone I wouldnt buy, say, a brompton@@fender1000100

I love my folding bike! It does streets and single track trails. I get to see all the details. It's so much practical fun in such a small package, never awkward. No thanks to the Lycra bike. The folder is the bike I like.

I like that my big, heavy, steel beast of a bike carried me through a herd of mating bison and over mountain passes this past fall. I went 2,000 miles and didn't need a car for a single one of them.

I especially love shopping by bike and doing all errands by bike. I've loved every bike that I ever owned because of the rides. My bike takes me where I want to go and brings me home again. I'm all about enjoying every moment of my rides no need to race. I use folders now because it's more practical for me and they can be stored easily. I met a woman who had a folder but said she was practicing her riding to get rid of her horrid bike the she would get a proper one. Whatever bike you have at the moment is the best bike for you.

Bikes, any bike, are cool. You've absolutely nailed the movement and travel aspects ✊ It's like that quote from Elizabeth West... When mankind invented the bicycle, they reached a pinnacle of achievement. Here was created an incredible machine of such precision and simplicity for the advancement of humanity. Allowing for a greater freedom of movement across the world. And (unlike subsequent inventions for man's so called advancements) the more it is used, the fitter the body and mind become. Here is a machine that is incredibly beneficial to those who use it, with no harm or degradation to the planet we all share. Progress should have stopped when the bicycle was invented.

I like bikes, but what I don't like about bikes are the saddles. They're not tailored for every man's or woman's butts. But seeing every landscapes change without having to being slow or fast as a car is truely convenient.

Your title had me worried! 😮 Nice mini vid and so true. I like "simplicity" of bike yet "very" practical. Like how they good for your exercise and hardly damage planet (just old bits rubber/ odd rusted metal). Like how they keep going for decades without much repair costs & keep you close to nature (can hear bird sounds etc whilst travel). The list can go on for ages...if you listed everything it would be a long vid! Generally i think bikes & electricity two brilliant inventions! 🙂🚵⚡️🔌💡

I experience at least 4 flat tires a month. I have to buy tubes in bulk in order to have tubes on hand to keep biking. So I bought a airless tire for the rear. I assume most flat tires are in the rear since that is where the bodyweight is. The front tire is light enough to maybe glide over a sharp. How do you deal with flats? Driving to work and biking to work cost me the same in the money I was spending on tubes.
