Why are they using the Tesla Truck as the thumbnail???... Why not?... and because, they simply can... and because they expect the viewers to have an open mind... & this comment is for the algorithm.

Because a couple have been lemons. For most of the reports, Tesla has dealt with and fixed the problems. But some of them were a bit slower than they should be. And that's how it is with all new cars! I have a friend who's on his third new Bronco, his first bricked itself.

From my personal experience with two different lemon law buybacks, I would offer that one of the best things you can do is be polite and understanding, but persistant. Check in regularly with the process, but be kind to the person on the other end of the line that is helping you. When my Bolt EV got bought back during the battery fire debacle, it was clear that their staff were overworked undertrained and being shuffled around internally a lot. By being sympathetic to their problems and giving them as much timely info that they needed to process my case, they were in turn inclined to be more helpful and responsive to me. They looked back in my VIN history and found a prior recall that got me more money back in the buyback.

Complaining on social media is surprisingly effective for some companies. As are leaving Google/Yelp reviews, or fill out surveys if they send one. I should note - on the topic of “consumer advocacy organizations” - The Better Business Bureau (BBB) is _NOT_ one of these. It is a corporation protection organization. It exists to help *COMPANIES*, not consumers. Sure, some businesses actually do respond well to BBB complaints, but those are businesses that would almost certainly respond well to direct complaints. A BBB complaint is considered “resolved” and not counted against the business _as long as the business replies to the customer_ at all. They don’t need to actually make the situation right, they simply need to *respond.*

Having experienced 2 lemons in 2 different states in US I will now buy all my future cars from states with very good lemon laws like CA, NJ, or NY.
@AnonymousFreakYT
@AnonymousFreakYT 18 дней назад
Gotta be careful, though. Some of those states’ lemon laws only apply if the purchas*er* actually lives in the state, too. (California, for example. If you buy a car in CA, then move to Arizona, CA’s lemon law no longer applies. The reverse also applies, though! California residents are protected by the CA lemon law even if you buy the vehicle out of state!)

The issue in Australia is that there is no automatic costs order for legal costs incurred under consumer law when you inevitably have to take the manufacturer to court to force them to abide by the law and provide a refund or replacement so unscrupulous manufacturers will try force you into court where the costs mean consumers give up on their rights because they can’t afford the legal representation.
@Peter-vn8ue
@Peter-vn8ue 18 дней назад
It all depends on how cooperative the dealer, distributor , or manufacturer is at resolving the issue. If you need to take the dealer/manufacturer to court, your lawyer would ensure all legal and personal costs that you have outlaid will be recovered from the dealership/ manufacturer, including court and lawyer costs. In Australia, we can always contact A Current Affair who might be interested in the story and name and shame the manufacturer in question on national TV. We do have government departments that will deal with the manufacturer when it comes to consumer law, should you get no help from the dealership. The law in Australia states the vehicle must be repaired in a timely manner, replaced with a brand new identical vehicle or the owner be offered a full refund of the vehicle's purchase price, including any reasonable out of pocket costs occurred in relationship to the vehicle in question. The dealership/manufacturer gets to decide which pathway they get to choose to repair your vehicle if its cost effective in time and costs, new parts and labor costs to do so. I think any vehicle not repaired within 6 months should then need to be replaced or a full refund given and in the meantime a loan car from the dealership for free should be offered to the owner. Because we no longer manufacturer any vehicles in Australia it can take 6 to 8 weeks generally for new replacement parts to arrive from overseas.

That might be my 2021 blue AWD Pro S. Its front motor failed 13 months after purchase, and it sat at the dealer for the next 5 months waiting for a new motor that never came. Unfortunately for me, the lemon law in my state, Illinois, only applies when the defect appears within the first 12 months. VW eventually gave me trade-in assistance that put me in a new ID-4 for the same price I would have paid trading in the ‘21 if it had never failed. Getting that offer from them required putting up a fight with VW of America representative who clearly wished I would go away and leave her alone. A year or so after those events, I got an email from Carfax informing me that the ‘21 had passed a safety inspection in New York State.

I bought a new car (sadly a 7yr-old euro6 diesel because the selection of e-campervans doesn't quite satisfy me yet) a couple of months ago, and after 497 miles the 'Check anti-pollution system' light came on along with a countdown telling me I could only use it for another 621 miles (i.e. one tank) before it would stop working! This was a bit of a shock coming from the world of electromechanical cars where it was either working or it wasn't. I don't think I have a lemon, but it did force me to learn a lot about modern diesel anti-pollution systems and the state of FLOSS vehicle diagnostics. It's a good job I hadn't just set off on a European holiday - 620 miles isn't enough to get to Austria from here. Turned out to be a tired rear NOx sensor (sort-of-working but dropping out about half the time), but I really don't like having a software deadline imposed that I can't delay (or at least not without fancier software). Said deadline is possibly trying to protect me from further problems with other parts of the system, but I don't know for sure. These systems are very opaque. Still - it's encouraging the wife to think that if modern diesels are so fickle then maybe one of these EVs might not be such a bad idea :-)

The car would not connect to the App unless the car was turned on. So couldnt remotely check battery or start HVAC, etc. 2. The main screen would go totally dark for a minute at random times. Took it back to dealer and they had it for 3 weeks and didnt fix a thing. So, I started the official Audi return process. But, in the end Audi said the defects werent significant enough for them to buy back! No wonder many observers say VW (including Audi) will be the first legacy brand to go bankrupt!

I was initially thrown off by the obvious use of the cybertruck for this video. That you kept it up most of the video was extremely distracting... but then I was even further distracted that TE, to my knowldge, hasn't done so much as a test drive let alone a review of a cybertruck or the Model 3 refresh. These strike me as glaring omissions for an ev channel. I say that as a Bolt owner planning to get an Equniox EV and someday an Aptera and Silverado ev. And who owns no Tesla stock. The lack of the above is just glaring at this point. And I find the use of a tesla product never tested or fully reviewed on this channel in a video about lemons to be pretty shytty. You may legitimately be doing more harm than you think to ev adoption at this point. This anti Tesla bias really is out of control. And again, I say that as a Chevy aptera guy with no Tesla stock.
