I like this fisherman, with his swearword free running commentary, no drum music, and meticulous attention to the ecology of the ocean.

This young man knows his fishing a great channel to watch.

Something about that saltwater. Some of the prettiest "sky views" ,sunrises and sunsets, moonrise, constellations. Just beautiful. Makes a great added bonus and some you'll never forget.

I love seeing the work being done to the fishing pier. Hopefully someday they’ll be completed!

Part of the flounder family fluke are more aggressive with MUCH larger mouths. John Skinner has some excellent underwater shots of fluke in pursuit of bait. We will target them this May off coast of Long Island NY out to Montauck. Thanx for a great video..tight lines!!

If you want a truly BIG 'flatfish', you gotta head up to British Columbia, or Alaska. Up there we call em halibut:) My biggest so far, around 475 lbs. Biggest I ever saw was closer to 800, and yes, they can and will kill you given the chance. Also, never try to 'horse' a good sized one into your boat w/o administering adequate 'lead poisoning' first, 12 gauge is best. Since they are almost ALL "Muscle", just flapping around in the boat, they can break legs, and even knock out your transom- don't laugh, I've seen it done (from my boat standing off, watching some inexperienced fellows from Chicago, who came up to catch some "BIG" fish:) After pullling their target aboard, we then watched as they desperately tried to throw him back out :) We fished them out of the water as their rented skiff started sinking, and when we all got back to the lodge...well let me just tell you, I've seen men "drink" before, but THESE guys almost redefined the term :) They went home the following day thankful that the fish didn't get em with his jaws. Halibut up there have teeth that STRONGLY resemble those of a shark:)

Love some flounder... I need to fish for them more, but always a tasty bonus fish when we get a nice one as bycatch!

Flounder rock. Love that smell. Middle of Topsail island NC & both inlets is one of my favorite spots. Oct.of 97,the bite got crazy. 19-23 inch fish all through November & some of December. We owned a ocean front rental at the time .& Yes..me & my brother had to find new jobs.wouldn’t change a thing. Going to try that jig rig. . Take care.

I guess there's much smaller fish in your area. Up here in Jersey, a 19.5 inch fish is definitely not a doormat lol.

I remember being at Chandeleur probably 25 years ago. We were all fishing mainly cocaho plastics for Specks and before the trip I had bought several bags of off the wall colors. On one particular afternoon the fish wouldn't bite anything but red with a white head and I was the dude with red! LOL Of course I shared and we tore them up on red when they wouldn't bite any other color.

The small guy that the shark was chasing is called a Squirell Fish. I catch alot of those offshore in Pensacola and Destin. Decent bait...

I'm worried about fishing so close to a rig. Broken fishing lines tangle divers down to do maintenance. In the UK there's a 200 yard exclusion zone to protect divers - in the early days divers were killed when tangled in fishing line. Just saying.

it sucks in NC, the season for flounder is only in september and u can only keep 1 a day

If u have a soft plastic with a cavity. Tube bait hollow cavity, crawdads cavity. Stuff the cavity with cotton balls. Now ur juice attractant will work 100X better and last 15-25 casts. Dead shrimp chop up. Leave in cup. Black oily juice for ur cotton balls. Oily salty scent rainbows every cast. Ever chase oil slicks following the birds? Same concept but strictly ur lure.

Fishing with live shrimp is addictive cuz you're always getting bit, but it's always the little ones.. if the little ones are out I'll throw down a block of chum and then throw some good fresh chunk mullet or pinfish on a knocker rig about 10 yards behind the swarm of little guys

Those tender boats throw the biggest wakes! Beware full when they are underway they can flip a smaller boat!

Surprisingly hard heads are very clean tasting meat if cleaned right. Honestly cleaner tasting than most fish. Less fishy than redfish.
