Yeah, I think the worst strike I've seen was from "How to cook that" who made a warning video about wood burning with electricity and how many people die due to that. Her video got taken down because "she was advertising a dangerous hobby" and all the hundred of actual tutorials on how to take apart a microwave and use the transformer to burn wood were still available. This is just a shit show honestly. Getting random strikes and not being able to appeal to them is utter garbage

i watched the video and really enjoyed it, not because of the content but because of how you present the content and talk about it with such enthusiasm :’) i really don’t think the video broke community guidelines or whatever so that’s pretty upsetting. i’m sad that your hard work went to waste?
RU-vid's hypocrisy goes one step further: have any of you guys noticed the ads that get thrown around YT? If you use adblocker (like me), switch it off (or use YT mobile) and take a look at the ads. So many of them are suggestive looking ads for adult games (much lower quality than the ones Matt talked about) and straight up scams that impersonate big RU-vidrs (like Mr. Beast)! Meanwhile Matt has to walk on eggshells to even keep his video (and channel!) live on the platform, let alone make any money from said ads! You'd think that a creator with over 1M subs could actually get support or feedback from an actual human, but no! He gets support from a bot, just like the bots that plague the comment section with spam and scams!
The other night i got a spanish ad for a yogurt pop that involved a woman and her two kids sucking on it for the camera and making "foodgasm noises". Super, super, super not appropriate on many different levels. But got forbid a content creator say poop.
@@belgopolac no one knows how! All I know that is that the Ads are very low quality, inappropriate, and sometimes straight up SCAMS, and YT doesn't do shit about them!
I have been advocating against youtube since 2016 right when shit hit the fan, never did I defend them, and god thank that because they will always be making the wrong decisions all the time upsetting so many and treating so many like utter shit. It's insanity
I was looking for this one lol In all seriousness they only care about companies liking their platform The reason restrictions get more and more restrictive, is because they don't want them to pull out of it But at the same time they don't really want to spend anything in doing it right, that costs money N why care if a few leave? Everyone, their grandma, and their dogs are making videos after all. And ads play on all of them

Seen it happen to a lot of my heroes on youtube. Maybe that's to strong of a word, but several of the creators (you included) that inspired me to try content creation on YT have gotten abused by the platform. It's terrifying acknowledging youtube is a career for many and annoying for viewers because reality check: I'm here not because of YT but its creators. Start a patreon or whatever and I'll follow you man, if all my creators move so will I. RU-vid isn't what it was and I'm afraid it never will be again, so please voice your thoughts wherever you feel safe doing so because I'm listening and it's a conversation worth hearing.
I understand what you are talking about when I go through RU-vid Shorts (I used to like some videos on there but try to do less) there are a lot of bots or spammers that keep popping up with scams and 18+ stuff which doesn’t disappear and I reported several times It’s stupid that these things just exist while people who make honest work just keep getting thrown into the garbage I like a lot of your videos and it’s sad that these things happen to you
I've tried to report one of these spam comments once. I got an email reply: "The video you reported doesn't have any sexual content, please refrain from false reports." I replied that I reportet a comment in the comment section of the video and got the same reply again. So useless to even try to do anything.

@@Nigolasy yeah i had this same thing happen to me. A bot posted a video of them like literally top less shakin titties. I report it and move on. Later i get an email saying the video didnt violate any guidelines.

Any human can tell that your video was plainly not intended for sexual gratification, and I think I could safely argue that it even falls under "educational" or "informative" umbrellas. Discussing content that you find sexually gratifying is not the same as being sexually gratifying. If discussions about sex ed and sexual health are permitted on youtube, and titillating lewd but not explicit content is allowed, then your video should absolutely be permitted. Definitely try to appeal in any way you can (read: summon a twitter hate mob, the only method that actually works).
i actually really wanted to watch the cultured video, I really enjoy dating sims and other visual novel type games..but sometimes it's really hard trying to search for something I'd like through a sea of (objectively) crappy games. Thanks for putting up somewhere so we can still see it
RU-vid Is a really scary place here in Latin America there's two music genres called reaggaton and trap that it's music is mostly about gRape and it's promoted whithing ads and and the algorithm.

Years ago youtube banned my original account without any reason or explanation, it was when they transitioned to more strict ToS about youtube channels, ever since its my unwavering goal to either get it back or simply stay anonymous by my own choice. There is plenty of unfairness and every time I make an appeal, they reject it, I keep making appeals because I am a human providing a solid reason for my requests, I did not participate nor contributed to any harmful material therefore I find it unjust to be treated that way, youtube should take its users more seriously and treat them as such instead of banning or restricting them on a whim.
I'm happy I got to see it and read some great comments on the topic even if I'm not really interested in that type of games, pretty sad that it was taken down I thought it was a great video hope you can reupload it somehow Matt
There are three major problems that have come to light over the years; RU-vid's disconnect from the US' standard for dealing with copyright claims, RU-vid's push for becoming a streaming platform like Netflix and the like causing it to lose focus overall, and RU-vids terrible automated systems (ad restriction, moderation, copyright) and algorithms it doesn't bother fixing because it would cost money to fix it and people still use the monopoly anyway. Susan has honestly done nothing but ruined the platform since she has become CEO and it shows.
I feel your pain here. I had my main channel taken down by RU-vid due to, "Nudity and Sexual Content" even though I followed the guidelines to a tee. Sure, the videos I posted were for 18+ people, but I made sure I checkmarked that box for every video I posted. If RU-vid doesn't want adult content on their platform, why even bother having an 18+ button to begin with?
I am not sure how far you want to go, but in most countries, if you take youtube to court, they are not only obligated to exactly tell you why they did what they did, but they also usually fail and have to take back everything - essentially giving the channel a free pass unless you actually 100% do something "wrong". Those things are usually just done by an algorithm and cannot be properly argued in court. (At least from what I heard from those creators who went that way)
I was lucky enough to see the video in the scant few hours it was up. I really enjoyed it and played a few of the games you brought up. I hope this fiasco doesn't discourage you from making more content, I look forward to more of you.
We need a new RU-vid a creator controlled platform,the monetary system would be donation and in video eds, creators will share a minimum to pay a team of moderators that would remove pure smut,racist and real gore content it's probably a lot more complex then this but I hope people with the proper skills would consider this
I had my music playlist that I tailored for 8 years, removed and got an community strike for hate speech. It totally sucks to spend a lot of time on things, that are okay to just get an automated removal of that time.
You are one of the best creator in this platform and always had a special place in my creative heart since I found your channel. Your editing is always top notch, you always have creative ideas for videos with a crazy range of different style and subject. It feel so bad to see the system turn against you and penalise you after all the passion you put into your craft. Ugh, from the attacks on content creators to the INSANE amount of ads on video RU-vid now sucks for everyone involved. I'm really hoping a new video platform can come along soon and either give some competition for RU-vid or wipe out this site completely.
So RU-vid finally put this video into my recommended. Its been over a week since it was uploaded and its just now showing up in my recommended and subscriptions tab?! Whats even worse is the videos before this one weren't shown to me either. The last video I saw in my feed was "an entire year of warhammer." so its been a crazy amount of time. Granted I am only subscribed I dont have the bell notifications but it should at least show in my subscription tab right?! Crazy how shit youtube can be sometimes. Thanks for coming to my ted talk.
RU-vid does not respect their creators. It's like stabbing yourself in the heart with excuse that your own heart sucks? In other words zero sense with their iron fist.
I work for a company where my boss writes and owns tons of music, it's a music licensing company. Our company RU-vid channel got banned because, get this, some guy in Germany, claimed to own some of Barry Whites' music, he falsified documents saying he owns it and RU-vid gave him the power to strike videos. My boss literally has the paperwork and has submitted it to RU-vid, but RU-vid does not care, we think they are burning the mail they receive. Our company channel cannot even submit an appeal the normal way, his account is completely banned off the platform. Now this thief in Germany is collecting ad revenue on stuff he stole, and banning channels that has the song on it. I love that RU-vid gave some random ass German person the ability to ban channels on stuff he stole, yet our company never had that option. I wish I was making this up, but it's completely true. It is quite literally criminal and RU-vid has no form of contact.
What can we do? No really, what can we do? Tweet at them? Protest RU-vid HQ? Get a bunch of decent streamers who aren't trash together with fans and make a better content website?
It’s crazy how YT has these wild problems with multiple creators, and their systems can never figure out what to do when a person with half a brain can have a 2 min convo and see something is not right… having everything be automated has made a huge disconnect with creators and the platform and it’s insane to me
Hope someone within RU-vid sees this to understand how ridiculous these strikes are. It probably won't happen, but would be nice if something that wasn't a machine saw this.
Matt the reason video got banned is most likely because of that brief footage of *spiderman porn* in the begining. Even though both dudes were fully clothed, maybe the algorithm recognized it and auto flagged it?
"Hey we don't feel like you're being family friendly enough could you please tone it down a bit?" "Sure, what do you want me to? I can edit the parts you don't like, put an age restriction, edit the title, thumbnail-" "Actually we aren't letting you do any of that, see you in a week !"
a bunch of youtubers i know have recently been flagged for violent or criminal organization. I feel like there are either people mass reporting that specifically to actually do harm to youtubers or someone at youtube straight up not doing their job correctly.

One of the reasons why RU-vid is so random with bans is because of people who report videos en masse and the algorithm quickly pulls the ban. That's why the same video on a channel without recognition can last for years. Here the problem lies in the bad people who take advantage of the system and Yotube for having a broken system and do not attend
I am sorry you have experienced this. I wish there was another platform for you to use like RU-vid. A competitor that would force RU-vid to no longer have a monopoly.

I dont really know any other video platforms, but if you and/or 1-2 other RU-vidrs change platforms, so will I (or at least watch every single of your videos on the other platform) RU-vid isn't even enjoyable as a consumer to me anymore with the sheer amount of ads and their trash quality. The only reason I'm staying is that everyone is still uploading here
This is really sad to hear dude. It is baffling how RU-vid puts 0 value into this platform other than literally keeping it running. Every big move they've made has been a disaster, and the fact you can do nothing from this spot shows how on the small scale it's just as bad if not worse.
This reminds me to an extent with how the jimquisition gets copyright strikes etc all the time and how they have to immediately go to the nuclear option with brining a lawyer into it, not really suggesting that you go that route but it seems like thats the only way youtube actually has a living person review things anymore

Same happened with me on Facebook. Automated system banned me for literally nothing haha and now if I swear or anything, then I get an instant 30 day ban. All appeals get auto denied. I just censor everything on there now. It sucks, but this is the world we live in now.
