Wilson just understands what his minions tell him. He has little knowledge, or very limited collecting experience. He just has a lot of disposable income (very affluent in the technology industry).
Sports Cards is huge in the UK and Europe now and naturally, we gravitated towards the Soccer Market driving the pricing up and PSA pop report numbers!! Great video and research!
Jeff, interesting video. Enjoyed the overview and basic knowledge summary. BUT I do have to point out a bit of irony. I met you at the Culture Collision Show in Atlanta in July, 2021. Anna Kim and I were having a conversation & you came over to the table to talk about pouring money into Zion & Luca. I introduced myself and you were kind enough to take a photo with me. I told you about my channel on RU-vid and my interest in soccer cards. I tried to turn you on to a wide variety of older greats (Maradona, Beckham, Scholes, Xavi, Iniesta, Henry, etc) and current young stars (Pedri, Foden, McKennie, etc...... & ESPECIALLY Halaand!!!). You very pointedly told me that you had no specific interest outside of Ronaldo, Messi, Mbappe and Pulisic. (I can understand the first 3 but had a laugh about Pulisic. I've been dumping his cards at every opportunity.) Since you have been trying to inject positivity into the hobby lately, I'll do the same & resist being negative about the video. I really hope to see more soccer content from your channel. You have a big audience & it could definitely aide our side of the hobby and/or market. More than anything, I'm much more interested in seeing the love of the sport continue to grow in this country but also recognize that this will in turn be good for soccer card collecting & sales. I wish you further success and am truly happy to have seen this video published on your channel, honestly. Maybe we can run into each other again at the Culture Collision Show again sometime & share our collections.......or maybe even have a pack battle!! 💪😎⚽ I'm'm hoping to attend the February show but not sure I'll be able to yet. 🤞🤓
Mark my words those Ronaldo and Messi Mega Craques Rookies are so undervalued those guys are gonna be mainstays of the hobby for the next 20 years especially as the soccer card market grows
I remember during COVID there was a Portuguese guy based out of NJ that was selling the Megacraques packs (the one where Ronaldo was a rookie at Sporting) for $200-250 a pack. I’m such an idiot for not buying. Now an empty back is going for $50 on eBay. Crazy!!!
Hello, i am from Germany and in my opinion many RU-vidr and Twitch Streamer finnaly destroy our Hobby. At the Moment it is Not possible as a normal Person to get a rare Pack. They buy all of this, and stream their packopening. Fun fact is that many dont have a big knowledge about Football (Soccer) or the Player. The price 4 some Packs are really strange. But that's the Business. Sry 4 my bad English, i hope you understand what i mean.
I had my eye on a soccer card (before EBAY) that was featured in a book. I finally found a copy 5 years ago. It was a common, but no one had any 1976 Topps UK soccer in the states. Now they are getting to sites in the US, but many are still overseas listings.
Love the video. The Ronaldo megacraques is still highly undervalued. No one will ever break his records at least for another 20 years. Still under 1000 graded out there.
Well done. I agree with you. Internationally the hobby is becoming bigger and Internationally soccer is absolute #1 by a mile. Many new hobby activists from outside the USA will bring their passion for soccer into the hobby. Soccer will be booming in 5 years!
During the entire down turn of most other cards during 2021 Vintage Soccer has risen rapidly as there is almost no inventory in the early Pre-war cards and there is an actual collector base not just flippers. The thing with early soccer is most of it is sold off EBAY on INTL sites so its not as simple as looking on EBAY and finding what you want. It takes actual effort to be a Vintage Soccer collector and having the most $$ doesnt always win.
Big time facts right here. The vintage soccer market is not for the weak. It takes endless hours of research, language translations and a massive learning curve to know what to look for. It’s an amazing community and enjoyable to learn about pre war and other vintage legends through collecting. The vintage soccer discord is the best place for all in the growing niche market for anyone interested.
Interesting video but to be honest, as a soccer collector I hope things tank from the investment side so that prices can go down and it can go back to being an affordable fun collectible. I would also advise to read up on Greenwood in case you’re not caught up on his recent news.
It is affordable again, you can purchase almost (Most) any player for a couple of dollars (now sealed wax is tooooo expensive, that should also stabilize sooner than later). If you want Autos, Rookies or any other rarer cards then premium prices will be paid. And as the hobby continues to evolve prices will stabilize.
I coach soccer and a few years ago picked up a box of those 2018 world cup prizm cards (from a local drug store) to give out to my players as an award just for fun - and just a few weeks ago, i found i still had 8-9 packs left over. So I thought hey this is interesting - so opened them up. then thought, hmm i wonder if these cards are worth anything so did a bit of googling, and omg, i didn't realize the packs sell for 170 each. lol. I didn't get any mbappes - oh well lesson learned. but it did spark my interest in collecting soccer cards
2026 World cup will be huge for card collecting because it will be in the US. Rookies that may be bona fide stars by 2026 could potentially be hot (ex. Pedri, Gavi, Jamal Musiala, Jude Bellingham)
Are PANINI Adrenalyn XL 2014 FIFA World Cup and Champions League trading cards worth something nowadays or have potential to have high value in the future? Sorry guys. I don't really know anything about card investing but I have an important collection from that time and would like to get into the business.
be careful with some of the Messi rookies, all those Campeon cards were made after his debut season and could easily become 2005 in time. Would also say be careful of trimmed panini stickers, do a lot of research into how thick the white borders should be. Some have slipped through the net into grading slabs, the 1970 Pele in this video for example. BGS especially has an awful track record with big rookie stickers. Would say only buy BGS graded cards, not stickers.
Hi there. Do you have any suggestions for women's soccer cards. That are super affordable for kids? My daughters would love to get some nwsl cards or women's world cup cards but I'm not seeing anything cheap. Maybe I am just looking in the wrong spot since I am very very new back to the hobby.
Are you ever going to do a video on tennis or golf cards ? I know quite a few people collect those and would be curious if they are worth anything ? Thank you for all your hard work with all these videos.
@@egyptianhebrew91 I didn't know there were ping pong cards. Since tennis cards are becoming so popular I would guess ping pong cards could be next. Thanks.
"thousands of soccercards". what he means is: 2020 cards. (two thousand and twenty cars. not the year). hope the database will grow, because this is kind of a joke for a soccer collector...
I had 10 of those Ronaldo Megacraques 2002 cards. Sold them all stupidly. Had 4 Psa 10's, 4 Bgs 9.5's and 2 9's. Thrown away about $1.7m's worth in that card.
New to collecting cards and looking for info. What grades are good to buy? Also what about the cards different variations? (which are best to buy to hold value?) and where can I buy packs or do they only sell them in boxes?
I think a brand that is worth picking up is Topps Museum Uefa they have super nice patches, although most autos are stickers autos I think it's worth the pick up for future players.
Been buying soccer topps nfts. The states not as popular but international big. Easy to sell soccer nfts vs actual cards in being digital it's easy and quick to sell internationally also looking into panini soccer.
Nice to see you focusing on Soccer, don't forget the Women's Euro 22 in England. With the USA cards i would buy now and sell just as the World Cup starts as The US team will not get out of the group stages. That is of course if they make it to the World cup in the 1st place.
To invest in something is to eventually gain money by doing so. Question - when do you or when should you try and make that gain? Have you any videos on the reaping of your investments?
@@egyptianhebrew91 mundi cromo were La liga Cards printed from teh 90's to 2010... Messi, Xavi, Iniesta, Iker, Puyol, all have rookie cards with thatg manufacturer
Always funny that no one is talking about the vintage stars of football(soccer) Meredith from Manchester is considered the first soccer superstar in the World, but is no where nere the Old baseball stars. Billy Meredith should be known World Wide
amazing video, sleeping giant given the popularity of the sport is the best expression. Especially when we think how the South American, European and Asian markets are with the exception of EBay not served ( grading, selling platforms and custom fees). A hint to American collectors, be careful very much for Spanish messi and ronaldo cards and stickers in general. Prefer PSA and in my own opinion SGC is by far the best by labelling correct the years and the sets. Becket had graded numerous times fake ronaldo rookie stickers and who knows what else. Do your due diligence before investing a lot of money because there are a lot of frauds out there.
Good day, Can you help? I recently purchased a ohtani project 70 #621 baseball card and the seller returned a 1/1 bobzilla Ronald Acuna Project 70 1/1 card. After doing some research bobzilla is a mural street artist and illustrator who puts a touch of art on sports cards and when you use a ultraviolet light it makes the card stand out. Is he trying to scheme or is he legit? How do I know it’s a true 1/1? I think the seller at CT card exchange scammed me from the ohtani card and give me the bobzilla card to lead me to believe he gave me a great deal. Bobzilla could be harming the sports card network. Would appreciate your view on this since many of his alter cards are out there, What do you think? I think this will make a good video. I can provide pictures if you need. Thank you very much.
Nope! Basketball cards have flourished because of professional athletes, hip-hop artists and rappers have decided to spend/buy in to the hobby. The influencers have spoken.
@@ozsportscardcollector4720 was hoping Serie C is like a minor league and maybe some of the players became famous. Need to find an Italian person. Thanks for the intel. They are cool looking. Def holding vintage anything!
@@Al-ImprovEd2022 There's no such thing as a minor league in soccer. The really good players are generally scouted before they are even teenagers and are put into a clubs junior academy. They will them be bought by a club with money if they are not already with that club. Soccer has no salary caps and no drafts. It's the ultimate prfessional sport in that sense. The clubs with money win.
The majority of soccer enthusiasts, unfortunately, are from developing countries that have little or no disposable income to spend on trading cards. People have been wondering, going all the way back to 1984, when soccer will become a mainstream sport. Every World Cup cycle it gains a little bit of stream that inevitably dies as soon as the event is over. There's little chance it will get a huge boost in popularity, due to the next upcoming World Cup, based on the fact that Team USA didn't even qualify. American sports fans simply do not understand, appreciate, or care about soccer. Soccer will remain a niche sport, in the foreseeable future, due to it's lack of overall coverage from sports & sports news networks The only ones I see hyping soccer are those who've already invested alot of money into the cards in hopes that others will eventually jump on the bandwagon 🙅
@Gizmo44 what I meant is that every four years you get mainstream sports stations and ESPN/Fox Sports Radio talking a little bit about the World Cup, but they quickly stop once the event is over, and it's been a continuous ongoing cycle in that sense since the late 80's & early 90's
@@globalwomenssportsradio7192 the MLS has one of the highest average attendances. Soccer is definitely growing in the US. It’s night and day difference between the 90s and now.
I guess baseball is a dying sport anyway. U fortunately I've seen it first hand as to why. It's all money daddy ball now unless you are cuban. Kids with single parents or who grow up poor will never even play travel ball and that's where it's at now. I know parents who have spent over $50,000 this year in hotels and show cases
