I was playing soccer in high school and didn’t really understand the positions in soccer now I’m off to college and planning to play in college too! Thanks for making me better understand the game! ❤️❤️❤️🔥⚽️
This is my first time playing soccer in years and ive never been able to understand the positions this year im playing for my middle school this helped me understand the basics of the positions thank you so much ❤️
I am brazilian, but never been too much into soccer! actually i have forgotten about it and focused and learned other sports, mostly american ones, as basketball, baseball, volleyball, even football, but now i would like to try soccer for real! i gave up of soccer when younger, i learned many other different sports, and now soccer became a different option for me! xD and that's the first time i see an explanation of the positions, i learned a lot of things i didnt know before! thank u man!
It’s funny because similar thing is happening to me when I was younger I played soccer too up into junior high then gave it up and got into other sports like basketball & football mainly basketball but now I’m slowly regaining my interest in soccer!!
33 year old mom here who has never played soccer once, not even in fun. Signed up to coach U12 soccer since they were short 🥴 gonna be watching a lot of this stuff. Thank God I’m assistant coach
I've been really finding myself falling in love with the game and it only took me freakin' 35 years to do so lol. Thanks you so much for your info and wonderfully clear explanations. You're the best.
This helped me so much bc in my team I always used to believe I was a winger but when my coach put Me out of my comfort zone as a number 10 I loved the role (and got more goals) however I was so confused whether I wanted to be a CAM or a winger! Now thanks to this video I am happier with my decision as embracing playing as a 10 and I understand the game so much more
Just now starting on playing soccer because my school's team is in desperate need of players. Never was a huge fan of this sport, but I hope I'll learn to love it. It's probably a good thing that I know what I'm doing if I'm gonna be playing on the team.
Thabk you for the vid. I would've loved if you included some abbreviations for the positions, as those are the ones we see on tv and games. And also knowing the best examples for each position wouldve been nice too. Good worl gho
You should not mention backs as full backs. A back is the guy who would defend on their side of the pitch. A full back is a back that also helps in the attacking side of his squad, usually with overlap movements.
Playing cb or dmf was fun for me at least in middle school cause more often than not, kids dont know how to dribble that well so it would always be an easy steal and easy pass to my wingers.
The most saddest part is no one plays this game on my town and the most worst part is there are no football field too i practice on our backyard its not that wide but i can play well just bought a soccer ball yesterday and its different when i use my sisters rubber ball 😂😂😂
Stopper is basically another term for a centerback, or someone who plays just in front of the CB's. Whereas a sweeper always plays behind the CB's and is the last line of defense!
Ngl so many things in here are kinda wrong. The 4-4-2 is popular, but AINT NO WAY IT IS MORE PORULAR THAT THE 4-3-3. The fact he brought the 4-2-2 up first is... interesting. PS. I'm English, I know what I'm talking about.
@@Emily__vm I was just trying to show their average positioning during a game. If I included both sets of 11 players, I would've put 1 team on 1 half, and 1 team on the other. I guess I didn't want to use only half of my screen for the graphic
I played futsal (5v5 soccer/football) originally, now I’m trying to play 11v11 in high school. What would I play if I’m pretty fast, okay passing, bad shot, and good defense?
@@user-xh4xg1jf8cIf I were you, improve in either long passing or scoring. Your speed is going to help you if you are also at least on par on those two skills.
I like your videos and I subscribed. But I think you should say football instead of soccer (I know people call it soccer in the States…maybe it’s just a silly thing for me to say).
@@davidb7212 i didn’t get in💀I asked the coach from a level of 1-10 how much do I suck and he said 2 so I not upset about it.iv never ever played soccer in my life and I wouldn’t have time for it either seeing as I’m concentrating on my music and art so I’m fine with it:)
For 8-9 year olds: Can and should the midfielder or the defenders be allowed to cross the center field line? Is it the forwards and midfielders or..? Help!
Of course there's no set laws for where you can and can't go, but for kids learning the game, it's probably a good idea to tell them defenders shouldn't cross midfield. Midfielders, on the other hand, should be able to run anywhere on the field. And then Forwards should stay in the attacking half of the field
I'm sure it exists, but I've never seen a professional team begin a game in a 3-3-4. That's more of a formation a team will switch to in the last few minutes if they're down a goal and need to push numbers forward
If you are in the starting 11, somewhere in the defensive half of your field. In practice you may start by being substituted into a match for a purpose but in the long run, grow your stamina.
@@Ktsquare2008 I usually pace myself but can make pretty quick sprints from outta now where usually for around a minute before needing a breather. Now I’m a defensive mid, and I’m currently working on stamina
@@Gamer7906uMidfielders are mostly good at stamina so if your start a match on the bench your coach could substitute you in to play defensive midfield or defense for ADDING ONE MORE TEAMMATE TO ATTACK. Like a 4-4-2 to 4-3-3 or 3-5-2 or 3-4-3.
