Something else to keep an eye out for. At the end of clip 8, the player who gets the card runs off (maybe this is a rule?) and another player comes on. The new player runs onto the pitch immediately, without waiting for the other player to come off or for a signal from the ref that he can come on. That is a yellow card offence, 12 players on the pitch. Also, there is a red player standing at the halfway line, probably warming up, but his bib is not on and the coach (wearing identical colours to his players, which is a no for me) is not only out of his box, but actually on the field of play. Make sure you stamp these things out.
How would you call the end of the clip 9 (assuming no previous foul, obviously)? Seems like the defender comes out to clear the ball, gets to the ball, but takes out the player on the follow-through. Foul on white?
Hi. Yes, I agree this is a foul. Even if white touches the ball, his follow-through is a foul and the way he throws himself into the tackle is hopeful, but with little chance of getting the ball, so you would be justified giving a foul for this alone, IMO.
Foul 7 - looks to me that red actually touches the ball twice and that white trips over red’s legs. I would not have called that. Am I missing something? In real time I would admit that this is not always easy to see in the moment. Replay makes it easy to judge.
Not sure you are right. In slow-mo I see the tip of white's boot just poking the ball. Black maybe also gets a touch, but he is coming from behind, with studs showing, sliding along the ground on his backside, with little chance of getting the ball (even if he did, as you claim), so it is a foul for white. But, as always, it is 'in the opinion of the referee'!
