Post-Sydney Salsa Congress 2012 social dancing at Pumphouse You'll recognise Adrian, Anita, Oliver, Tony, and a few other faces from the Aus Salsa scene.
My respects to all the dancers. Some really cool and interesting patterns and musicality. But I must admit, you cab definitely see who the pros are (Oliver and Adrian). Seeing the social dancers, whom are good in their own way and seeing the pros, their techniques and cleanness on their movements... Is literally like day and night!
Here are a few songs I recognize. I hope this helps: Charles Fox -- Macho Song (na3ouri commented) Babarabatiri -- Tito Puente (Different Version) Heitian Lady -- Different Versions (Haitian Lady by Willie Bobo could be) Escuela de Rumberos - Spanish Herlem Orquesta Vete 'Pa Ya - New Swing Sextet (Different Versions) Cheers!
This was incredibly entertaining!!! How interesting it is to watch people's faces while they are dancing!! hahaha!!!! My favorite face is the "super serious and sexy salsera" face. hahaha
And after watching this video, one cannot say anymore that Oliver is better than Adrian. At this level both are simply amazing in their own personal styles, and from both we can learn a lot. (why am I the only one commenting? feel like a freak)
@Mo Lee : type 'pumphouse sydney australia' on google maps. It's been discontinued though, now it's at Bar100 (still in Sydney, still every Mondays). Also, this was an exceptional night: it was the after party of the Sydney Salsa Congress. The music is always as good because the DJ is awesome, but you don't get the superstars every week like that...
Does anyone know the name of the song before Soul of a Dancer - Edwin Rivera? Starts at 2:05 with the guy with the white shirt and the girl with the black mesh top dancing.
But that's indeed a good thing. If all the training hours pros have gone through could only be seen on stage... wouldn't that be sad? Though not always possible, seeing professional dancers in their first social dances, also sends an encouraging message: innate talent is most times overrated; in the end, it's dedication and hard work what really counts.
i thought they all are pretty good. but lacking originality and musicality. spins is easy to learn but originality an musicality takes longer time to develop. they should learn from people like maykel font and such
