By Emmanuelle Cambois (Senior researcher at INED) as part of the « Les Rencontres de la démo » on "Inequalities in France", 21 January 2020 at INED.
The chances of ageing in good health are very unequal in France: a 35-year-old worker has an average of 6 years less life expectancy than a manager, and yet he or she lives on average 10 years longer with functional disorders in this shorter life. Although the extent may vary, this observation is generalized to men and women, to the youngest and the oldest, to all countries and whatever the way of understanding the social situation.
