I have attended a couple support group meetings hosted by a state run agency. I am learning disabled. I am positive that they probably report to the SSA on what they notice with various attendees. None of those people are on my paperwork as a contact or anyone I know. Is there any chance the SSA could send them a 3380 asking them to fill it out about me? I only attended a few of these over these meetings with may 15th being the first one. I go to these because my sister wants me to meet people and it is the only reason I attend them. A lot of the activities are probably discreet tests of someone's mental and or physical residual functional capacity. By discreet I mean that in no way do they tell you that it is the purpose of their activities which often involve games or crafts. A lot of these activities meet at 10 am and they may also be documenting our ability to show up on time on a regular basis. The events are all optional and you can choose any one of them you want. You really don't have to attend a single one of them if you really don't want to. What makes me a little nervous is they ask me about me having a vehicle. I simply tell them that where I live there is no bus and everything is too far to walk to. I mean a walk to the places I usually shop would take 4 hours one way!! They ask if I am employed and maybe even suggest jobs like Uber driving or delivery. Of course I don't want strange people in my car. I am also not good at dealing with customers who have any problems. I am not going to give the details on my case but I am worried that if I continue going to those groups it could sabotage my case.
@@goodmshawn So, I've been on disability for 13 years. I have multiple things wrong with my back and at this point for years I go to the dr. for medication apt and check ups but there's nothing they can really do. I returned my update/review paper work in March/April and received a 3380 now? My question is why now after all this time (13 yrs on SSD) would my husband get the third party form? He's never received one before? Thank you! It just feels like I've done something wrong, when I haven't!?
Thank you for your video! It's extremely helpful. Now here's some silly (or maybe not so silly but may be helpful to somebody else). My 18 year old daughter has a moderate intellectual disability and I am her legal guardian and rep payee as she is transitioning to adult benefits. Here's where I am SUPER lost- The Adult Function Report request letter is addressed to me for her- so as I fill out the first report, I am filling it out on her behalf. She doesn't understand any of this and functions at a five year old level. Here's my question- the THIRD party report- can I complete that as her third party family member even though I am completing the SSA-3373? Or do I need to find a teacher, aunt, or somebody to complete it?
Family members, Friends, Neighbors. Anyone who has a close relationship with you and knows your disabilities. hopefully they will agree with filling that form out for you . I’m not sure what would happen if they don’t choose to participate in the process maybe SSA might use what they already have on file regarding your disabilities.
