Did you know in some cases it's possible to get fast approval for SSI or SSDI benefits? Social Security has a Compassionate Allowance List. This list has been vetted and contains conditions, diseases, and disorders that meet Social Security's definition of disability. If you have one of these diagnoses you do NOT have to prove you are disabled.
Most of these are for very significant conditions like ALS, some cancers, and children's disorders. If you have a condition you think should be on the list, but isn't, you can submit it for consideration. Not sure if your condition is on the list? You can look it up using the link below. The list is alphabetical.
www.ssa.gov/co...
You don't have to do anything "special" to apply. When you submit your application Social Security will review what disability you are applying for. They are human and may make mistakes or miss something. It doesn't hurt to double-check your diagnosis with the master list.

My son, 27 at the time, had waited 2 years for the court hearing. He had heart failure, lupus, bi-polar, and other things such as depression, anxiety (ALL DIAGNOSED) etc. His lawyer, for like the 3rd time was unprepared. My son was not approved. He died last Easter at age 29. It would have made his last two years of life more comfortable.

It shouldn’t even take that long to get approval. Especially if you worked and put money into it . What gives Ssa the right to play God with your money and your life

It’s a complex process, & millions try every year . Low pay high turnover rate, just one case could have 1-2 inches of paperwork , each page has to be verified It’s always been this way , but now So many people trying to receive benefits. The average wait is aprox 6-12 months just for the initial Response , good luck 👍

WOW , sadly you still have to wait more then 6 months, for benefits, when your near death,any disability,leads to depression, isolation,etc,along financially struggling before anything,then depends on states, nowonder so many homeless are in the street.either way god bless you and your family for your help.

I have a brain tumor & just got diagnosed with MS. They’re doing a review now, but I’ve been on this for over 20 yrs. now. It did take at first about 4 yrs. to get approved w/ an attorney.

Not sure what to do. I've been dealing with vertigo, double vision spells, and dizziness for a year now everyday. I'm seeing neurologist and MS dr. They dont really know what's wrong with me. This week I just started my short term disability through work because it's hard for me to drive with these conditions. I can but I have to cover one eye with my hand when the spells hit me. The MS dr and neurologist have started paperwork for me to sign up on disability. I'm scared to death that I wont be accepted. All this crap started including my gallbladder failing 3 months after my moderna booster shot. Funny thing the MS dr told me he wouldn't rule out the vaccine, and told me there was no reversal drug on the market., so I'm stuck with being a sober drunk for the rest of my life. I dont hunt, or fish, or do anything I love to do anymore.

Why won't the SSA or the doctors inform that individual their medical findings/ diagnosis?
@ericjorgensen5140
@ericjorgensen5140 8 месяцев назад
I don't know, this is something you would have to ask them

Because ultimately the findings belong to the insurance companies who are paying the bill.

Only your PCP can inform you of your health issues. SSA only reads what your doctor says in your file. It’s important that you & your doctor are on the same page.

It shouldnt even be government run at this point. It should be contracted to an investment agency and government pays back what was taken from that in the past and paycom dispurses payments and you have a case manager at all times so things dont get overlooked or dismissed.

@@richardturner7664 you realize billions of dollars were taken from social security and me asking the government to be held accountable and return the funds that are peoples money not the governments is why I shouldn't be in charge of anything? Thank you for showing the world you're ok with embezzlement. Stop trolling. Try again. It's just sad at this point.

I am 44 years status post a TBI. Struggle every day of my life to survive, have struggled to stay in my position at work and am judged every time I open my mouth because my speaking voice was destroyed from the trache that I had when I was in the car accident that I got the TBI from. I am also a cancer survivor which has destroyed my energy level, to live life. Is there anyway that you can guide me on what I should do in regards to disability?

What if I have heart disease ? More people die of that than anything else. As far as I know it's incurable.

I don't believe heart disease is in the Compassionate Allowance list. Here's a link if you would like to check - www.ssa.gov/compassionateallowances/conditions.htm

The term “heart disease” refers to several types of heart conditions. The most common type of heart disease in the United States is coronary artery disease (CAD) and it can take decades before the disease becomes debilitating enough to prevent the afflicted from being able to do some kind of work.

For-profit medicine is not about regaining health but about maintaining illness. Dean Ornish, Prtikin. Look up their work. Don't believe everything you hear, particularly if coming from big money.

I don’t know your personal health, but from what you’ve saying, I’d wager you have a good chance to win SSDI I was approved with two of your conditions + 1 more. The best advice I could offer is keep excellent records. Go to every doctor visit take all your medications Make copies of everything. , I was putting my records in separate files/ folders In 64 days I was approved. No attorney. Wish you luck 🙏

I retired in Thailand because my SS in America would restrict me to living in poverty. As such, i survive on SS of 1400 per month. I will be 83 years old in February 2024. I have been healthy until the last 2 years. I have had a series of skin cancers and have severe thinning of the skin on my forearms and face. A slight bump results in shredding and bleeding of the skin. Obviousky, i can no longer work. As an American citizen resudung abroad am I eligible for SSI? I don't have Medicare because Social Security in Manila informed me that it was not valid overseas. So, any assistance in obtaining SSI regardless of the amount would be greatly appreciated.

If you're getting $1,400/mth in Social Security you won't get anything from SSI, even if you qualify. It's reduced dollar for dollar. And to get SSI you have to live in the US. secure.ssa.gov/poms.nsf/lnx/0500501410

I heard ( years ago) that you can't get any kind of social security if your residence is not on American soil properties owned by usa. Like a military base. They won't accept out of country banks either. ( this was to keep medical retired vets from living in Mexico and having a post office in America to send checks to. They would come accrost cash their check see the Dr. And LEAVE THE COUNTREY WITH THE MONEY. Spend it in Mexico. It's a ton cheaper down there)

Would a tbi be the same or similar to a brain disorder?
@VisibleNationalTrust
@VisibleNationalTrust 9 месяцев назад
@armandoaguilera2969 I don't think a TBI would be considered a brain disorder for the purposes of Compassionate Allowance. It is a disability and you may qualify to receive Social Security benefits. I recommend talking to a Social Security attorney. NOSSCR offers an automated Referral Service, call 845-682-1881
@DearMe247
@DearMe247 9 месяцев назад
Depends on what part of the brain was injured and no tbi is not 'a disorder' which is customarily associated with mental illness not medical ..

It took me about 5 years. I was denied the first time so I got a SS lawyer. She took me on cause I had a strong cast. When I finally got to see a judge I got the toughest one and she denied me. But when I got her report 90% of what she had in it was false including what my disability was. My lawyer kept me on because my case was so strong and she requested an appeal. She told me if I won the appeal they will send me to the same Judge. Well I won my appeal but the judge was forced to retire so I did a phone hearing in Oct 2020 during COVID. The new judge was disgusted by what the last judge did and said that she told me she will have me an answer asap because I have waited too long. Exactly two weeks after my second hearing my lawyer called me and said it was over and we had a fully favorable decision. I cried because it was so e and it was a long and stressful time for me and my family. I was found to be 100% disabled and the work expert said that there was not one job out there that I could do . The only thing I am questioning though is, if I was determined to be 100% disabled why is my review every 3 years and not five or more and could that three years be changed to five or more after my three year review?
