im nervous to go to a physical exam and tell them about my back and knee injuries plus my mental condition and then show them a list of all teh medications I am on. I am on 2 medications for my mental illness and I am on painkillers for my back/knee pain plus taking vitamins like B complex and Vitamin D2. those are the medications i am on. I take B12 vitamin gummies every day but its not prescribed. I am in constant pain everyday in my back and knee and I am getting PT for that. I am just concerned why it takes 5 months to get thru the medical review. I am not making any income right now and even if i do have money in my bank account it will be gone in 3-4 months and I do not know how I will pay bills without finding out if I am getting approved or denied. I know it takes a long time and I wish it never did but I am getting frustrated everyday and my anger (another case why I cannot work besides anxiety and major depression) is getting worse without no calls from SSA or DDS. I am working with my case worker to find out why the wait. I just hope and pray I can win my case and get approved for SSI or SSDI because there is no way I can work right now due to my physical and mental illnesses :(

not going to lie BUT I feel doomed to go to a CE appointment plus I will request it to be virtual if possible I just feel like this is a setup for failure. I feel like the cards are staked against me. This doesn't mean that I am not disabled it means that I feel like the whole process is going to hell after this appointment

Hi . Is an ssi consultive exam considered objective medical evidence?
@DisabilityExams
@DisabilityExams Месяц назад
Objective evidence is evidence that is independent of how the patient feels. It can include things such as fever, swelling, and abnormal blood tests or X-rays. Subjective evidence relies on how the patient feels. It includes things such as pain, dizziness, and nausea. In a Consultative Examination, both subjective and objective evidence are gathered.

My husband will need visual field and vision exam, but he is blind. His last one was 6 months ago. Will they send us to ophthalmologist or optometrist?

Should I bring my medical reports as proof in case they don't have the documentation on file
@DisabilityExams
@DisabilityExams Год назад
No, don't bring your reports to your consultative examination. Doctors who do the exams do not look at records on the day of the exam. They ask about your conditions, and do a physical exam. However, make SURE Social Security has all your reports. The number one reason claims are denied is lack of medical records.

If I have a skin disorder can I bring pictures to demonstrate my issues ?
@DisabilityExams
@DisabilityExams Год назад
Yes, if the problem isn't present on the day of the exam. If it is present, it's best to have the doctor see it. Social Security will approve disability for some severe rashes that cover a large area of the body - the doctor will need to see the entire body if the rash is extensive. I had one unfortunate patient with severe psoriasis from head to toe, they qualified. Social security wants to know how severe the rash is, and what percentage of the body is involved.

You seem like a genuinely nice and caring human person, but I'm not sure what planets you're from. Just had a consultative exam. The doctor read off my OLD records. She told me I had this, and I had that. She had me push my hands and feet against hers. She said she had all she needs. Never asked a single question about my problems. Never asked about any symptoms. I didn't even have a chance to interject anything, she was in such a hurry. She didn't care and I'm guessing 90% are like this considering that everyone I talked to said it would be exactly like it was. I wrote everything down and sent it to my representative. I doubt there is anything I can do. It's very upsetting.

Not everyone who applies for disability sees a Social Security doctor. If there are complete up to date medical records, it's usually not necessary.

Can you please advise if the CE examiner asks to see areas that are causing your disability, in the case of wounds from disease for example? Or am I allowed to show them without being asked? What if they are in private areas? I have seen some sources saying they do not look at your wounds, its only a discussion of what you can and cant do. Thank you.

Im going to answer my own question. My examiner did not look at any of my wounds. He read the report he had about them, asked a few questions, took my pulse and sent me out saying Ill ‘get this off to the jokers downtown and we will see what they say’. Im not sure what to think lol.
