I applied for SSDI nov 2018 and was approved April 2019. I receive almost $2800 a month. I am disabled and I did use a good attorney. My first attorney I saw was a jerk. Get a good attorney, this is important.
I heard it’s very difficult to prove you have a disability to SS. Yet I hve friends who receive $1800pm chks or more since they were veteran. 2 of them admitted they hve no health issues now. And they work full time
@@user-js3ee5qv6g I sent in on a spread sheet I made in Microsoft Office. I had all my doctor’s names, addresses, and phone number. I included my surgery’s, surgeons, surgery dates, and hospital records department number. I was thorough and it made the SSA workers job easy.
I hope they're working under the table. When ss finds out they'll make him pay past payments plus fees and penalties. Happened to a friend of mine, he had to pay back 50k
@user-js3ee5qv6g sounds like your friends receive VA disability. This is different than SSDI or SSI. VA disability allows a veteran to work and still receive their VA disability checks. I believe SSDI allows a person to work as long as the pay is under a certain amount. I think it's under $1400.00 a month as of 2024. I'm not completely sure of the dollar amount.
I was not able to collect my Railroad Benefits at all (money that I paid into it) I also seen where some recipient's were criminally charged .So the ones that had their money clawed back better be thankful they are not going to jail on top of losing their money. NOTE: I have also seen reports that the Railroad Retirement Board spent a quarter of a million dollars on ammunition ? Why does a Retirement Board need ammo ?

You are correct I just got the link to check my Social Security if I retire at 62 I'll get 1,250 if I apply for some type of disability if I become disabled it's like $1,800
At 40, 22 years back, I broke my back, tore my rotor cuff, was hit in the head, which caused epilepsy. My doctors had me file for disability. But I had to do it on my own and was turned down because I had no idea how to do it. I didn't have a lawyer or any assistance, so my paperwork was not in order apparently. Disapointed, depressed, and embarrassed, I spent the next 4 years broken and attempting to rehabilitate myself with no help, no insurance, a divorce because my personality apparently changed from the head trauma. But I rehabed myself enough to make out as though I was not disabled, even though I suffered in severe pain and occasional seizures. But I was forced to go back to some work for 22 more years, although in a totally different career paying much less. While working, I have retorn the first rotor, and now also torn the other, which I just finished surgery and rehab on. But I lost my job while on WC from that injury, seems illegal enough, but whatever. But now, if I refile for disability again, and I have multiple documented injuries, how long back will the back pay be since I first filed years ago.
im schizophrenic. i do not know what is right to do. i just filed online and filled out the question form. i assume that every medical record is related to my doctor. i went to the exam and i told the truth and acted like i always do. 2 months later i was getting pair
That all depends on the judge and how good your lawyer is .medical records from back than probably no longer exists so u need all the paperwork u can find
Ohhhhh my mistake. I misunderstood. Sorry!! I did not know what we were discussing - yes 1350 a month allows u to keep ssdi. I have not been able to make 1.00 yet. So…..maybe one day, my body will heal and my BSN will be done and I can jump back in with the ticket to work - 8 months of as much money as you can make. If successful, then off ssdi. If not, you continue on with ssdi.
I’m on Disability. No time in the last 20 years have I felt scared of the price of things. I’m gonna be taxed out of my house soon. Gas prices I will have to quit driving.
Yeah things are tough. Florida insurance for homes has been given free rain by the dude NOT in the Govenors mansion, but stumping across the country to try and become potus. God help us all if he gets NEAR the WH.
I just became Homeless. Because Biden took away that extra 80 for food stamps..ive been spending my cash on food. It caught up with me. Could not pay my electric. In debt first time in my life on credit card. Going to food pantry now. Camping in the woods. I have a full college education to be brought to this. I need my meds. Had a stroke..need medicare and medicaid but at this point I need to get off disability go back to work if I can. Been on disability since 32. Now 50. Don't know how I'll get a job.
But then when you said if your sick and taking a lot of prescription medication 💊 you can retired at 62 years old, Im confused who’s going to pay for all my medication if I retired at 62 , I have auto injections I need to retired but how am I going to afford my medicines ???? Please need your answer. I subscribe to your channel please give me an answer. I have 6 more years to work, before I plan to retied.
U only get Medicare A and B ,you are responsible for the other 20% which is part C and they don't charge you for party D which is drugs unless u already have a plan . So the bill you twice for something they aren't giving you. You need a Medicare advantage plan ,which u will pay for but u will get your meds
Help If your spouse who was on disability dies and you are left As a widow and are receiving Social Security would you be entitled to her benefits which is the greater of both amounts. I get confusing answers to this question.
@@cassie101 You jump into full view, not a blip, when you start the trial work period. All work has to be reported but working at a low capacity , below 1,050, creates less of a target .
I don't understand how people are able to work with disability I just spent two years proving that I can't work which I cant... isn't that the whole point of disability that you cannot work anywhere???? if you can work why are you on disability?
@@pepper1188 They have a system. In that system they don’t consider part time or limited hours as “substantial gainful activity.” Basically, you can have some kind of ailment but you’re limited as to your ability to work. In turn, that’s a disabled person.
If I'm on disability at 61, can I also get my X's social security and keep my disability until I want to get my social security when I'm 67? Or which ever is higher?
You have to choose. Disability or Social Security. At full retirement age it will automatically turn to whichever social security you claim , yours or your husband. You can contact your local security office before you turn retirement age.Early retirement is less and the amount is permanent.
What if I’m 66? I’ve been on long term disability since age 64 from work. Now they are talking social security disability so the insurance provider will have less to pay. Makes sense to me, but does it benefit me after full retirement age?
There's ss, ssi and ssdi. You cannot make a total of 1300.00 including what you get from ss. If your low income on ss..ssi kicks in. So your question all depends on how much you will get from disability. If you make more off spousal support it's not worth it to get on dusability.
@@kittycato2023please if you know .why the ssd are taking 165 $ every month from ssd they said for medical insurnce ( Medicare ) can i canceled because am in such need for $ .i really appreciate your help .
Here’s my understanding that… say your spouse was eligible for 3000 a month that means you were only entitled to 1500 of that a month …if your disability check is $1500 and then you don’t get anything if it’s less than $1500 …you would get up to the amount equal to $1500 and you will not get less than what you originally getting … yet you can’t add another 1500$ on top..or exceed the amount past 1/2 of his…
@@TheMedicareFamily I was just approved for disability after I turned 62 years old. I was told I had no other alternative but to apply for Early retirement because I was approved after I turned 62 years old. I hope that I wasn't misled. What is your advice on my situation? Love your channel, New subscriber. 🙏💜
😂😂,wrong, you can't own any other properties other then the one house you live in,also can't have life insurance cash value you can take out over 2,000 dollars . Also any amount over the allocated funds s.s. disability allows you ,you'll have to pay back that money. I know happened to my mom. S.s. won't tell you about that. So good luck with disability.😂😂
So my spouse is on SSD now for past 20 years. When he turns FRA at 67, can he draw off my record if it’s more than the SSD? I’ll already be drawing when he turns 67 he is a year younger than I am.
I've been on disability since I was 37, I'm 53 now & I get $2000 a month from SSI/DI. Does that drop at retirement age? At 37 to now I started at $1600 to $2K now
On disability you are already drawing your full benefit. At your full retirement age it will automatically switch to your retirement benefit and the amount will remain the same.
You can work 40 hours but the SSA will hold back some money over the limit above which goes up every year. When you hit full retirement age they give it back. Some people say take SS early and invest it. It's up to you. But you can work as many hours as you want to.
A Supplemental plan F OR G THAT ARE BOTH THE SAME IS $345 DOLLARS LIVING IN the state of New York will leave you starving and broke. In NEW YORK BLUE 💙 CROSS BLUE SHEILD
She's right I took disability at about 29 and I'm still on it and pays less than a part time job. Lol! 😆😂🤣 If you are a younger recipient, after you pay your bills, you practically have no money left afterwards and you end up missing tons of events. 😥
@@Earthtime3978 . I do. I hear whispering voices all over my body. My illness is called paracusia. I see a psychiatrist every 2 months for it and take medication for it. Like I said it sucks it doesn't pay much, but it's something.
I have to work until 64 so I’ll have my 20 years in with the government plus Social Security I’ll be bringing home around $80,000 a year plus Social Security I think I’ll be OK
😢 So sorry may God bless you 🙏🏽. My mother was diagnosed with her 1st cancer ♋️ at 60 and began receiving social security payments at 62. She wasn't sure if the Lord would allow her to live to be 65. Lord willing she's still here and if God spares will in 79 in April of this year (2024)
It all depends . If you cannot work ,you are eligible.the fact that your cancer is terminal they will probably award it to you knowing that they won't have to pay for that long. Sad but true.
Your not even close to the truth.i got SSD at 60. It wasn't even close to my full retirement amount, just a few hundred dollars more .and when I hit 62 the SSD becomes ssi and gets reduced.
I'm 61 and a half. Currently on disability. And yes I was only able to make 1350 a month gross. I think I'm going to just continue to stay with the Social Security disability
If you get your full amount if you take disability, but you will only get 1350 a month that is less than full Retirement. Retirement would be more than that at full retirement.
It’s not 1,350 a month. That number is the amount you can make if you work while on disability . And actually in 2023 it’s 1, 400 and change if you work .
@@Earthtime3978wait so I thought 1350/1400 was based off the 40 work credits. This is very confusing. So it's possible for ppl to make less than 1350/1400 on ssdi?
Our country cares for illegal immigrants while we are tracked and cheated by our GOVERNMENT. I lost MY LEG. WHY WONT THEY GIVE ME FULL retirement my friend always worked off the books and he gets supplemental money that equals mine ¹
