I received a letter such as this about 2 years ago. I had to borrow money from my daughter to pay back over $4,000 they said they “overpaid” me. I don't understand why this had happened. They have all My info, SS came up with the money I should receive, I didn't make this up so why did I receive this letter 2 years ago? I PRAY I don't receive this letter again! Though $4K doesn't sound much to others, it was my whole world! God bless
Karen are you on SSI and do you live with family possibly? That could be one of the reasons. SS took away just under $500 from me for that exact same reason.
@@judythbabbar5323 No, at the time of this letter, I lived in my own apartment. I have moved in with my daughter now, but she is charging me rent. The same amount as my apartment complex but no penalties if I'm late. 😀
Every time I've ever gotten a normal payment letter that I had to pay it back. Yes, but it was only so much each month out of my check for so many years. They didn't make me by pay it back in 30 days. I'm not gonna say it's not possible, but they normally work with you as dumb as you will willing to work with them.

The social payment center has a computer mistakes my girlfriend has Autism and he got a letter saying he was overpaid, but he never worked.And the computer sent him that he was owed $3000.That is a big mistake.The computer is messing up really big time
I raised 2 kids by myself with no child support until my daughter was a sophomore in high school. Their dad passed away in 2001. Still owing back child support. I know child support falls under a different category, but what the heck, if they tell me that I draw too much 😂😂😂😂😂😂. Good luck
I got a second overpayment letter after just winning on my first one that dragged out for over a year. This 2nd one had nothing to do with me, but they busted the phone lines open to do a financial review weeks later. Then I got a letter yesterday about how I waived having a representative payee, and they could assign one to me if they wanted to. Yeah, just beg a state employee for every purchase I want to make. Ridiculous.
say you got this letter and the 4th stimulus come in and the SSA has cut you off ssdi already... are you still getting the 4th stimulus check or will that go back to SSA as back-payment or garnishment
