does the socialist speaker have a channel of his own? you said they would be links in the description for everyone, but there aren't. was hoping to see him speak more. I really like how he thinks.
Interviewer question to socialist “Would you say the paradigm duopoly you saw in the Spanish Civil War with the anarcho-communists vs the fascists and authoritarian communist… Interviewer question to libertarian “Do you think socialism is bad?”
A piece of small private property for everyone as a birthright is the solution. The idea was bandied about under Distributism. A better way to organize the economy is residential/commercial. Residential would have as its foundation property rights for all by law. Say 250 sq/ft today. Food, education, and healthcare would fall within the residential economy. After a certain threshold, a capitalist commercial economy could work.
Complete contradiction of what the socialist said!! Early on he said socialism can’t thrive because of capitalism, but later on he says capitalism needs to come first in order for socialism to thrive! This is why I am a libertarian
Socialism is built on Capitalism lmao Socialism is nothing but industrial democracy, Marxism is sub branch along with Classical Libertarianism, Mutualism, Social Anarchism, Syndicalism and Social Democracy.
no all socialist believe that capitalism is necessary for industrialization or to transition to socialist society, if that’s your only reason for being a right libertarian sounds like a very weak one
that was not very solid representation of the liberty perspective...she let him get away with a million ridiculous claims about capitalism...it doesn't promote diversity but socialism does?!?!?!
+SpookySocialist lol nice theory. capitalism creates shelves full of a diversity of products, media content full of a diversity of ideas, societies full of a diversity of lifestyles. socialism breeds the opposite. look at Venezuela. or visit 'Socially Democratic' Sweden and see how much diversity is appreciated (hint: it's not). socialism in reality is all about conformity for the greater good. capitalism and free markets drive a range of goods and freedom of expression.
+Victor Johnson You have no basic understanding of the examples I just gave, do you? As for a "diversity of lifestyle", the facts don't support you. 35% of Americans are working menial low wage jobs just to pay the rent, you have an even bigger percent working jobs just to be able to afford what they want to do in the spare time and provide a decent life for their families, and then you have a bigger percent who use their wealth to work as little as possible and pursue completely alternating lifestyles. What you're arguing is theory, I only have to look out the window to see what it is exactly that your system promotes and that is conformity. As for the issue of conformity, the fact of the matter is simple. The less workers have to work, the more they can pursue whatever career or lifestyle they want. This is reality, Socialism only cuts the worthless jobs that nobody wants to do, especially not for 60 hours a week. Freeing workers from their chains is how you get diversity. Not by arbitrarily mandating what jobs people need to pick as the free market does. Also, workers are much happier with the Nordic social democratic system so again, you don't know what you're talking about.
+SpookySocialist so is Sweden a Social Democracy or not? Sweden went from a third world nation to #4 in the world in per capita income from 1850-1950 with low taxes and low regulations. in the 70's they started the massive state/socialist apparatus and slowly became poorer. today they are cutting taxes and government because they know socialism has to be paid for by capitalist piles of money. as far as diversity...do Swedes value all the identity politics we have here, as you must believe they do? no! they don't value individual expression like we do. as far as the US economy goes, the issues of inflation, needless war, rampant welfare (corporate and individual) and unemployment tie directly to government intervention in the economy and crony capitalism. in a free market our big banks would have been broken up years ago. millionaire farmers would NOT be getting taxpayer money. the prison state would NOT exist. capitalism breeds opportunities and prosperity.
+Victor Johnson In a free Market, we'd all be. sweeping streets for 2$ a day. Go to any capitalist country where the government doesn't interfere with half of the economy. Oh, back already? Also, the Nordic system that Sweden has is not Socialism, it's just social democratic. Socialism requires the abolition of the state and workers control of the means of production. As far as Sweden goes, I highly doubt you bothered to factor in all the free shit they get out of those taxes. Or the fact that their worker's average wage is still considerably higher than ours. Or the fact that they rank better than us in every category of the human happiness index. I could go on, but there seems to be obvious reasons why the Swedes keep voting in liberals. If you want a actual Socialist economy to criticize, 1930s anarchist Catalonia is a good place to start.
