SOCIENTIZE: Taking Citizen Science to Senior Universities 

The Senior University of Águeda hosted a "Workshop on Citizen Science - For an active Society in Science" organized by SOCIENTIZE, a European Citizen Science project, spurred on Portugal by the University of Coimbra (UC) and the Science Museum of the University of Coimbra, which aims to promote the active participation of ordinary citizens in studies and scientific experiments.
In this initiative, the senior students collaborated in experiments of the SOCIENTIZE project covering various areas of science, such as cell biology, linguistics and astronomy. Through an online platform, SOCIENTIZE project intends to bring science to all of an educational form and integral with the main purpose to promote a more active and engaged society in the scientific creation process.
