Similarities between Frogger: The Great Quest and The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind include... 1. Both possibly take place in a third age of some sort (Third Kingdom, Third Era). 2. Protagonist is a prophesied hero ("The One," the Nerevarine). 3. Enemies call out that the protagonist is a foreigner ("Stranger!", "N'wah!"). 4. Protagonist defeats antagonist with the help of a magical sword (Grim Bite, Keening). 5. Critical revelation comes to the protagonist in a cavern (The Tree of Knowledge, the Cavern of the Incarnate). 6. Frogger uses the sound effect for casting Mysticism spells in Morrowind a lot, for some reason. C0DA Digitals have confirmed that these are the same goddamn game.
i think the same sound effect thing is because the sound effect is from a popular sound library, the Sound Ideas General Series 6000 library. it's been used in pretty much everything and you'll inevitably come across sounds that are used in multiple pieces of media (e.g. doom's doors, doom's BFG sound, the same "magic" sound used for teleporting in quake 1 and mario 64...)
I want to kiss you for making this, I got like an hour into the vod and stopped because I have a lot of other stuff to catch up on. This is much more manageable.
Certain enemies in this game trigger a fear response from my inner child and I think that makes me hate this game even more knowing it would have scared me and given me nightmares if I played this as a kid.
