At some point he steps from left to right multiple times around a tree, that isn't even line of sight while Soda was drinking. Wasting several seconds. Watch it again, and really look at the paladin movements, and then tell us why you think it's optimal.

That wouldn't matter, no? He would see where he went invisible and know he Shadowmeld-ed there. If he was prowling, he would still have to come out of stealth to eat/drink, then re-shadowmeld, which produces the same result.

@@Ryan_hey Nope. You can make a macro to leave cat stealth, eat/drink and SM at the same time. The enemy cant see you since at no point do you leave stealth for long enough. At least this worked on classic vanilla.

For it to be staged and to get so close to going either way so many times is just crazy. Sodas spec doesn't really let him finish the pally easily his game plan is to wittle down and stay away and win the long game. The paly is clearly afraid the whole time. Lack of experience maybe but also the adrenaline of the moment. Id also add he didn't just back off when he got him low they both jumped away from and opposite each other at the exact moment that happened. He had already probably decided in his head to exchange there then heal and didn't expect to get him that low.

I get what your saying but this is not a normal duel this a mok'gora, a duel to the death. The community has already ruled these as anything goes. Also engineering was always part of dueling culture even way back in vanilla. People used grenades and engineering gadgets all the time in duels. The only thing that was really frowned upon was potions and consumes.

Asmon back in the days had parses better than 99.99% of all players throughout multiple tiers and expansions. Might not be good at pvp but saying that Asmon "wasn't good" is dishonest, furthermore neither of them really play highlvl wow anymore so soda basically sits on what he had achieved (idk if he still plays, I dont watch streams and his YT doesn't show him play at all)

@@ZonZorZerx Outplayed? Mate, I played as a paladin in vanilla and what he did was so blatantly staged that he may as well have been a stand-in for the background. Soda got down to 1% health and mana, one more hit would have sealed the deal but instead of delivering the final blow he decided to instead scurry away as far away as he could and let Soda not only heal but also eat and drink to full strength. It was an absolute joke. All the paladin had to do to win was land a single attack and stay on him after the critical attack but then for some (staged) reason he ran for the hills and then, after allowing Soda to recover, didn't eat and drink himself and charged in half-cocked, seemingly without a plan in the world, running around a fence and not jumping over it like he did at the beginning of the fight and playing as if he lost all sense and motor controls. Stream sniping? Ah, so you make my point for me. The guy could have easily won but he was a subscriber and didn't want to ruin it for his precious streamer. Well done, sir.

not that obvious tbh, it makes sense that hots should heal more as getting the payout over time is usually a downside. same reasoning as why 5 combo point rip is usually more damage than 5 combo point bite.
