@@tanyipan3554 Of course it could be, but it is a timed connection, and usually in the timetabling industry, we only do that if a large proportion of passengers on one train want to change for another. I very much doubt it was NWR passengers wanting to board the SKR train, hence why I'm assuming a large proportion of the people who crowded round Fred missed their connection, especially as it shows Bear leaving in the background.
I find it interesting that Fred is always painted as sickly or unreliable, the complete opposite of his basis. Alf, on the Talyllyn, is know for being extremely reliable, never playing up, and just always being there ready for whatever's needed.
Kind of disappointed the reunion between Atlas and the MSR engines weren't illustrated much... Love the references though, Carlin, TUGS, the LITTLE ENGINE THAT COULD practically killed me! It was the only intelligent locomotive story I could stand watching aside from RWS! Again, can't believe it's another month until such a masterpiece!
Great job WNW! I love how you developed Fred's character, and a reference to the classic children's book, The Little Engine that Could, which is just as popular as the Railway Series! I can't wait to see the story arc with the diesels, BoCo and Caden! -Cheers
This episode, so far, is my favorite episode of this season. Not just because I was in it, but because of the character development you gave Fred, the reason why he pretended to be ill in the first place, and how he overcame his fear of straining himself because of hard work. And it was really nice to see Atlas in his full Skarloey livery, as he truly begins work on the Skarloey Railway for the first time. Well done, Wildnorwester. I am honored to have worked with you. :)
I've been a fan on the Thomas based genre since I was 5. I developed a keen passion for stationary engines at age 10. Now 20 years later, I've just made the connection as to why "Rusty" is his name... you would've thought I had made the Ruston-Hornsby diesel engines connection years ago...
XD interesting to see Duncan being just a little mature here. Maybe it's the delivery of his lines but he does sound just a little less crass. But regardless, an amazing story! I loved it! Interesting to see the other diesel Fred pulling his weight
Atlas looks pretty smart in his Skarloey Railway livery, and I'm very glad that Fred will be fully restored so he won't have to suffer any more engine troubles. Well done, WildNorWester!
Dan, you never cease to surprise us. I can't really say much here today because I've got a party to go to later, but the characterisation of everyone was amazing. As a sidenote, I'm surprised at how many engines you fit into a single episode: Sir Handel, Rusty, Skarloey, Rheanes, Ivo Hugh, Duke, Fred, Atlas and Duncan. That's nearly the whole SkR crew!
Another fine installment. It's great to see Fred being fleshed out as a character as opposed to being randomly mentioned in 'New little Engine' and bam, never seen or even mentioned again. Quite chuffed to have been part of the voice cast, not to mention a well rounded plot. I think something similar once happened on the Talyllyn now that I think of it :) On a side note the detail on the models is outstanding, particularly with Fred nd Duncan. Makes me want to get TANE for the sole purpose of your modelling works :)
***** I've been trying but I always end up with missing dependencies, some critical to get them to work. I just recently got Trainz 2012. I think they should definitely work on that.
Not a bad episode. After seeing his design, you'd think Fred should be given a cab roof to keep his driver dry from the rain. LOL Love the new TV paintwork, Duncan. It really fits you! Hold on. How could Rusty overhear Duke and Skarloey when he was about 100+ yards away from them? I'm confused.
There's never been a limit mentioned as to how far the engines can hear. Generally, it's whatever works for the plot ;-). Also, sound can travel, especially around water.
Pip and Emma can talk to each other, yet they are always back to back with coaches inbetween them. Plus, they could hear the other engines fine in the sheds in 'Runaway'.
On the first point, that's because they're not too far away from each other; and they're basically _connected._ On the second point, they weren't even in an area surrounded by roaring sea water and loud tugboats. It's all a matter of acoustics and location.
It's actually not all that odd. During his tenure on the Corris Railway, Sir Haydn was "cannibalized" with parts from the numbers one and two of the railway.
@@NickolasMontagnino Would you like to voice Miguel the Black Tender Engine in my videos and would you like to the narrator for Thomas and the Little Mermaid Adventures Season 16 episodes and would you like to be my friend?
Definitely a very different type of episode from you WNW, I certainly enjoyed watching the engines get down to the root of Fred's troubles as it's more one of confidence instead of a faulty build. Nice job I must say and kudos to the voice actors for some great voice deliveries!
Sodor the Modern Years just keeps getting better and better. Seeing Atlas in Red is still a little weird, and Duncan's stick out quite a bit, but that has no effect on the quality of these videos. One question I have, is: What route do you for the Arlesdale Railway, and the one for the Mid Sodor?
A very Excellent episode and batch of episodes from start to finish~ I must admit, I never knew much about Fred, but after seeing this episode, I am quite curious. Plus too, I could relate to the episodes message about confidence, I suffer from a lack of self confidence at times, mainly in Motor way travel, I would feel very sick if I would ever have to use them, not because I am actually sick, but only out of fear that something would happen at those high speeds. Much like how Fred did not have the confidence to take the train due to not wanting to strain his engine. But, I do believe, much like Fred, all I need is a bit of confidence to take on what we are afraid to do. keep up the grand work~ ^W^
In my Thomas series The reason why Fred used to be lazy is because he was built with a bad engine which means he often got sick in those days and that he doesn't want to strain his engine too much back then he really did get sick so he wasn't pretending to be ill
Eventually after he helped bring Duncan's train to the station after Duncan broke down the thin controller told Fred that he will be going to the works to get a new engine and he would also go through a full clean out not a single part would be left unclean and worn parts will be replaced and ever since that day Fred hardly gets sick now
I dunno if it was intentional but the story of The Little Engine That Could sounds like a parralel to the story Wilbert told Christopher when he had the measels about Edward who was old but did his best regardless.
Now I really want to see Stanley in an episode now other than him just being a voice, he could be in a flashback or maybe he secretly preserved and not scrapped
Will you please drop the Stanley thing? I have told you several times already, on several different posts, that it is NOT GOING TO HAPPEN. Further posts on the subject will be considered spam.
Also I would like to apologize for being annoying also I don't recall you not saying that Stanley wouldn't be in your series I only remember you saying smudger wouldn't be included. again I'm very sorry for annoying you, your vids are great and they've been going on for so long I think you are one of the best Thomas content producers out there
I have always had one question when it comes to the skarloey railway what is the point of the cut out where fred is "broken down" is that meant to be a tunnel at what I think is lakeside?? What is the point of that spot??? I am so confused
Definitely have to say, I was rather surprised that you didn't give Atlas buffers and a cab, the cab certainly would give his driver better protection from the elements, and the buffers also seem like a bit of a requirement on the Skarloey Railway. I can understand why Duke doesn't have buffers, as his frame and buffer beams are too thin to have them, but I do think Atlas's beams can be widened to accommodate them. Either way, it really makes a nice change to see Atlas working on the Skarloey Railway instead of some alternatives like being sent away from the island or scrapped.
Though I wanna know, in the later seasons of TTTE, when they have the American locomotives come over to Sodor, hows that possible? Not just with the difference in gauges, but coupling as well.
Very Very nice video! I have one question. How did you fix the SKR railway crane? is there like a video or something that you followed or can you tell me what you did? If its possible could you tell me? Thanks if you will, if no then, Okay.
A carborator? Does that mean Fred's a diesel mechanical engine? If so, that would explain the jackshaft between his axles. Also, he was built from TWO old diesels? Even for narrow gauge standards, Fred's tiny. How did that work?
Also, they don't have a carburettor. That's how Rusty catches Fred out - "It's a bit difficult for an engine to get sick in a component they don't have."
How's the progress of the next three episodes, are they close to being done and ready to be uploaded or is there still some technical work that needs to be done?
I've already announced on Twitter that the next one is going up this weekend. Also, when people ask questions like this, it makes content creators like me feel underappreciated and reduces motivation to do more.
I didn't mean to cause any trouble or make you feel under appreciated, I was just wondering as its been about three weeks now. I don't have a twitter account so I didn't know and am not the type of person who wants to create one. I know that time is essential for everyone and anyone to create and produce the best quality of any video, to review the story collared to the story line and make sure everything makes sense.
Alf From the Talyllyn is the exact opposite of Fred. Alf is there in case something goes wrong because of how reliable that bunker or a diesel mechanical engine is. If an engine breaks down, it’s press a few buttons and start Alf up to go rescue a stalled engine.
Great episode. My only complaint is that during the second half of the video, Rusty's voice sounded muffled and it was hard to understand what he was saying.
I’m literally so confused about what Duke Said about Stanley because I thought Andreas was the rude one when I watched the video about Andreas and I wonder what ever happened To him. also I like Stanley in the Stories of Sodor 👌
WildNorWester oh I see and I think Andreas is alright and also I saw Andreas Basies Hunslet 303 When it visited the Ffestiniog Railway for the event back in June
WildNorWester it's a three parter question. number one what inspired you to do this series including Sodor the early years. number 2 why don't you include TV series characters and number 3. what happened to those characters that are in your Series in Sodor the early years
Strangely, the answers to parts one and two are the same. When I started, it was during the badly-written seasons 11-16 of the TV series. I caught one of the CGI episodes, and couldn't believe that this was the same series I'd grown up with. So I started making my own, with the stuff I wanted to see. I'm not sure what you mean by the third part of the question.
WildNorWester like what happened to Alfred and the rest of those characters in sodor the early years that aren't in sodor the modern years, I think one of those diesels was called Shawn, I never really watch a lot of episodes of sodor the early years, except the episode which Alfred and Gordon switched colors and Barry the rescue engine, but bedsides that its hard to tell, the on!y reason I know adout Shawn is because I started watching an episode Ware Alfred derailed on the point😕
Various fates. Alfred is on the Bluebell Railway, and Shane is still working on the Other Railway. He was only introduced for the Modern Years, and appears again in the episode 'Caden'.
best WildNorWestern, I want to say that I want to join your team. I see a lot of your videos and I thought to myself that maybe can I join in to help or become a friend. It's sound maybe weird because I'm a weird or strange person for you, I'm not 100% good at English, I don't know any of you or an other person of the team and you're already working to make the next three stories. but the most reason I want to join is that I'm a thomas fan (not the CGI version but the books and models version) and I really like the way that you work on the stories and I can't do anything with trains because no one likes trains or they find it boring and I want to do some more with trains or with Thomas the tank engine. So I want to find Some train friends or group to have fun together regards, FALLUX (Roemer)
Don't be so rude. I have explained here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vinn8F6wZck.html how things will be working for this lot of episodes.
