'Dominique' by the orginal composer and singer Soeur Sourire. This 7Inch single was produced in 1982 by Marc Moulin and Dan Lacksman of the Belgian electro band Telex! A re-recording made in a time of need.
Each human being worldwide has a dignity (this is known also in Germany and was known also in the 90s). Empathie is an emotional honesty for other human beings worldwide. And values and fortunes should be lived instead of just talked about. Action speaks louder than words! And a malice behavior did not becomes better by using medical treatment and to vanish memories! I hope the right human beings understand what I am talking about! I helped by the way to solve a lot of self learned problems of the generation V like very special. I am/started the generation W like www or web for all human beings worldwide. And not all human beings worldwide follow the male military thinking (Bundeswehr Denke in German). Thank you for all who helped to realize more peace worldwide in the last 27 years! Best wishes Peter Babnik Viva TV inventor (MTV in German)
Music (the song) starts at 0:18 - audio quality is good. Like a lot of "techno" / disco music of that time, it uses some sampling: the real sister's voice is in there. Harmonizing vocals also! Nice version of the song.
I so love this, in some ways it reflects on the Roman Catholic Church very well. One only has to go to the Vatican to see this sort of stuff. Cardinals strutting, it is such a laugh and yet so sad in many ways. My prayer is that the Church releases itself from its materialism and comes back to the simplicity of the gospel. Br Francis
LOL WHAT . YOU KNOW THAT THE CATHOLIC CHURCH REMAINS THE LARGEST PRIVATE CHARITABLE ON EARTH . ALSO I THINK ALL THE THINGS VATICAN OWNS HAS HISTORICAL VALUE AND IS USED FOR TOURISM . THE FROM THERE IS USED TO PAY SALARIES AND MOST IS DONATED AWAY . STOP HATING ON CATHOLICISM
@@hirdhandas4158 Soeur Sourire had large debts, but she had taken a vow of poverty. Her convent and her record company hardly helped her. So she released this remix 10 years after the original, but it didn't meet with any success. She committed suicide a few years later
The then cardinal (Suenens) in those years has finally broken her career with the cooperation of the politicians and the bishops at that time. (Fortunately, this time is now over). That is why all its agreements with international organizers have been canceled. Not only in Belgium and France, but also in Canada and the U.S.A. That Cardinal Suenens was not a charismatic person. He was a wolf in sheep's clothing. Read the full biography of Jeanine Deckers (Soeur Sourire). Then you have an objective idea of reality. I still think about Jeanine and Annie every day. They had been good to me. And they have always helped me. Sometimes with a little something and sometimes with words of comfort. Soeur Sourire and Sister Annie are now close to God in Heaven. Blessed are the merciful! Soeur Sourire and Sister Annie, pray for me!
@@rebeccaanderson5626 This is a pretty harmless song but was used in American Horror story. Now this video is so weird. And the whole aura is crazy. So,the original comment was quite believable considering the works of Yoko Ono. So ,I responded to that jokingly.🙏
Very good combination between movie images and song! The song „talks“ about poverty and preaching god´s message (in a kind of ironic way) and the church (worst man-created institution!) showing off how rich and vain it is!
Lol do you know that the song is literally talking about Saint Dominique a Catholic Saint. Also Jesus found the Church there is no salvation outside it .
Amazing video that I interpreted as a mockery to the Christian church and its richness that has nothing to do with the character who inspired the song, " Domingo the Guzmán or Dominique" the Spanish priest who founded the order of the Dominicans and who lived in a extreme poverty.
this production was typical of the Disco era which invade the world from 1977 to 1987. It was not intended to be a perversion of the original song, just an 80s disco version. If nothing else, I remember the Flying Nun TV series (1970s). I thought the headdress with wings was magnificent (tongue in cheek) but may have been sacrilege, That was all I liked since having a Catholic Belgium heritage and heard the original played for decades at my grandmothers house. This was just an artistic performance, tell me what art is, no such thing as bad art, just bad taste
Produced by Fellini. That explains a lot more and at the height of The Gay era just before Aids devastated the Planet. Fellini the Italian film director and screenwriter known for his distinctive style, which blends fantasy and baroque images with earthiness. He is recognized as one of the greatest and most influential filmmakers of all time.
Vatican II began with Soeur Sourire strumming her guitar like Bob Dylan singing about St Dominic. It progressed through her breaking her vows and committing suicide, and ends with this... Bergoglio must love this. Pray for us, Mother of God.
Matthew Palardy the original song is NOT about St Dominic ... Learn French, first ! Soeur sourire (stage name given to her by the Church who wanted her to go public, not herself) was thrown out by the Church (she sure did NOT leave it on a voluntary basis). Of course, as usual, the Church kept her money from all the royalties she had earned and she was left broke. She committed suicide together with her love partner (yes, another woman : spooky, isn’t it ?), being sick of all this. By the way, the video (soundtrack excepted) is a famous excerpt (Vatican fashion show) from the movie “Fellini Roma”, by the great Federico Fellini. Go to school, have some education (starting with respect for dead people) and get a life !
I don't think it is mocking religion in a very intentional way, but they are trying to be most entertaining with the juxtaposition of the film clip with the familiar sister sourire song, it worked for me but then I always liked religion and the song...
