I really like this theme, and I'm not too fond of Eastern Wind. I guess I'm in the minority here. XD Eastern Wind is okay, but it's a bit repetitive, and it's a more generic theme. Hakurei Shrine Grounds is more interesting, in my opinion.
Okay, i know its tastes, but how is hakurei shrine grounds boring? Its atmosphere is amazing, it has a fast and exciting feeling, it fits like the beginning of a new mystery to solve. Eastern wind, as much as i love it, i need to admit i find it quite repetitive, sure it fits, but its just its a calm sound before the storm, thats it. But hey, you called sunfall repetitive so...
God, this could easily be my favourite PC-98 track, but there's the Strawberry Crisis... Second favourite! IMO, it outshines original Stage 1 theme by 1000 points.
This sounds like it could've been LLS stage 1 theme tbh, I really like it. Just doesn't fit well with Shrine grounds and tanks, but like a fine prelude to Orange.
This is like... Brightness-darkness, if you look one way, it's a song that kind of symbolizes the surprise and excitement in Reimu of beign able to test her newly trained powers, and look the other way, you can see Frandoll's Bad Apple smile peeking through the youkai invasion.
I like this a lot, but the actual Stage 1 Theme of SoEW is far better in my opinion. Fits more, you could say. But this is just as great, just not as fitting as Hakurei ~ Eastern Wind is.
All these years I skipped over the beginning of this track whenever it started up on my music player. Finally giving it a proper listen all this time I am just dooped. I may be stupid.
ZUN's comment about the track: "I made this, intending for it to be the first stage theme, but... Since the early songs in HRtP were so dark, so I thought I'd make this one brighter, and it ended up like this. But, I threw it out (^^;;;;"
There's potential, but maybe he could have made the song main part a little bit earlier. Its a shame Touhou doesnt use introductory cutscenes or something of the like, this is quite the space for that song.
would love to see an arrange of this theme; it's not awful, but in its current state it's... lacking something. i don't know, i feel a more intense modern mix would be suitable for like, a phantasm stage or something
A mí me gusta más este tema, es más bonito :c Aunque Eastern Wind queda mejor con la atmósfera de pc98, por muy inocentes que sean los argumentos siguen teniendo un aura oscura que los juegos de Windows han perdido. Sé que estoy respondiendo a un comentario de hace 8 meses, pero qué más da xDD
