I'm just practicing my own MA. What I see is that there is insufficient angulation at the apex of the turn. From what I see, I feel that the skier is intentfully trying to bring the inside hand low to the snow, as if he thinks that is the right "form". What happens though is that the skier is too inclined at apex, because the edge angle that is achieved does not justify that low a hand. Now, that's not MA, that is an attempt at reading someone's mind. But, something about the skiing makes me think that. After turning on the volume and listening to what Klaus has to say, yes, I see park and ride. And, I think that park and ride is a result of the skier's primary goal, placing the hand low to snow. So, change the primary goal. Let the hand get low to snow as an outcome, not an objective. Having used it as an objective, the skier will not get the edge angle needed to achieve the objective naturally.
Hi karlo88, just found your comment now. I agree to everything you say, good summary! The hand to the snow move is quite distinct and I agree that it is a result from him trying to get low. Which, as you explainded, moves him too much on the inside, which is not a problem at the start but then later in the apex as he does not adjust enough. The interesting question is always what is it that I want to tell the student and what do I try to achieve by it. It is never about telling the student everything you know, as it is not about us but the student. In this case i did not mind him playing with the early inside lean and wanted to see if he could still get over the outside enough by adjusting more later. If I realize that this is not possible, then i will make him stop to drop the hand,... Dejan has joined us for camps every year since 2017.
