There is a new version launching in second half of 2024. It will be the x2. I held off on the x1 recently. I own the u1 remote and have had no problems with it. Just purchased the u2 for my theatre room and it works great. Faster response time. I can literally point it anywhere and can turn on all my stuff.

No number buttons. Useless with cable set-top box. Mine sits lonely on a shelf unused, 3 harmony Companions w/ Hub still work great

Does the hub have outputs? I have the AVR, Comcast in the basement. Video coming up on cat6e so, I need blaster to live upstairs and hit the TV and send the output downstairs

How did you hook up your receiver? I was waiting for that part in the video but I don’t think it showed. I’m worried about line of sight issues to my receiver if I just put it in the same closet.

I watched your video twice. Pretty good video. Then spent an hour trying to configure the X1 to work. Gave up so it’s being returned. Why can’t everything be as easy as the Logitech?

Great video thanks for your review. I'm planning on using the sofabaton for a home theater setup with an elite screen motorized screen, a Sony receiver and an Epson LS11000 projector. Do you think it can integrate all of those pieces and allow me to control the screen without using the projector's 12v trigger? Reason is I have young kids at home and want to be able to have the system on to play music but not drop the projector screen to protect it from said kids.

Sofabaton has elite screens in their IR database so it might work if you can have good line of sight to the projector.

Why did they take away all the buttons that are on the U1 and U2? I hate having to scroll through menus on the display and need hands-on buttons.

I have two Harmony Elite's with 7 & 8 devices attached respectively. And like every other Harmony user out there I'm always on the lookup for a replacement for when my remotes die. For me I don't think the X1 would cut it. I've been looking at the Unfolded Circle (formerly YIO) Remote 2, which looks interesting, which is a Kickstarter that shipped recently. Quite expensive though. They have a wait list for those wanting one. There's also the AVA Home Remote and Cinema Remote. Again they look really nice but they are dealer only like the Control4 but are self contained so no need for other equipment.

It's a tough market right now. Definitely one of the downsides of control4 is the need to an installer to add equipment. You can tinker in the home composer software, but the learning curve is steep. It's not intuitive at all for me at least.

Hi, there great video! I was just wondering if you have encountered any issues after that with your Sofabaton x1. Your installation, adding devices, and creating an activity were pretty simple and easy to follow. I am wondering if you used the settings that the app gave you as you were installing the devices and the activity or if you changed anything at all. The reason why I’m saying this is because I also have the X1 since two weeks ago, and until now I haven’t gotten it to work as it should… I have an LG TV, an LG sound bar, in an Apple TV 4K. But for some reason, all three devices don’t work together. Whenever I’d click on the watched Apple TV activity, in the beginning when I installed it, I had issues with my sound bar. The television and the Apple TV would go on and so would the sound bar but just for one second and it would turn itself off. I would try to turn off the watch Apple TV activity, and both devices that were on would go off, but then the sound would kick in and turn itself on! After a few days of trying all kinds of combinations, I was able to get it to start whenever I hate watch Apple TV activity. But now the problem is the Apple TV 4K itself whenever I click on Apple TV activity, only the television and the sound bar will go on, but not the Apple TV . The only thing that I did different than you, is that when I installed the watch Apple TV activity, the app itself told me that I needed to configure some things in the start up settings as well as the input settings and commands . I am not sure if something got all mixed up. To make a long story short after two weeks, I’m still trying to get this thing to work to no avail. After seeing your video, and seeing how simple it all went, I’m considering to restart all over from zero and you ignore the warnings that I need to configure things. The only thing that is holding me back right now, is all the trouble that I went through to get the sound bar finally working the way it should. I mean I have done so many changes to the settings that it’s probably all confused now heck, I know I am.! That’s why I just wanted to ask you before I did that if you just did it all like in the video or if you did change any of the settings at all. Thanks a lot.😊

I suspect that you have one or more of your devices “talking” to each other via hdmi connections. For example, when your receiver turns on it might send a “turn on” signal to the sound bar. The separate signal from the remote telling it to turn on might actually turn the sound bar off. Check the settings in the receiver.

Thanks for your reply. I finally gave up on it. I think that the issue was a combination of the hue sync box, the SofaBaton and the set top box. I just use it now for only one simple activity. The strangest and stupidest thing is that whenever I want to watch my set top box with ITS OWN REMOTE, the SofaBaton goes out of wack when watching the Apple TV, which is what I use the SofaBaton for now 😮

Great video! I have the Harmony and it always has issues. Can the Sofabaton turn items on and have delays as to what goes on and the order too? I have Anthem, Sony, Lumagen, Oppo, Apple TV, Stewart screen with horizontal masking. Like to get something that works but not spend 3-4K.

You can edit the startup sequence and add delays as well. It may take some tinkering but it could theoretically be possible.

I bought the Harmony Elite and it was a total nightmare. I'm done with universal remotes. It's easier to pick up whatever remote you need and use it.

The sofa has so many bad reviews, harmony is great remote sucks it’s discontinued, control 4 in my opinion is over priced plus proprietary software that only dealer have to program
