Awful accent! but it is from when she is from, she probably speaks with the same voice and tone in Spanish and it still sounds strong. But she does know English.
@@plamoretti673 European accent? But spanish is literally an European language. If you see how Spaniard Europeans try to speak English, they have the same exact accent as her. It’s not much different.
@@jennwurst2026 it’s entitled to expect someone else to speak a language without an accent to make it easier for YOU to understand. That, with the fact that Ellen constantly has to bring up her accent like it’s something novel or interesting.
People keep saying that, but it would be pretty hard for her to fake that constantly... that's just how she talks and I love it. She sounds the same and I never notice a difference. If she says stuff on the show and she's being dramatic, it would be the same thing as us saying things dramatically to be funny. We just don't have her accent. 🤷🏼♀️
You are correct. I have seen in other interviews where her accent is really light and at some point or some sentences she has none. For most peopel , accent is the last thing people loose when acquiring a new language.
That’s okay., i live in Japan, and there’s this Chinese woman who came here as an adult and she lived here for more than 20 years but she still have a foreigner accent. That’s normal coz it’s a second language. The most important thing is COMMUNICATING.
Why does her accent have anything with your ability to listen and understand her? She's speaking English. The find that question offensive asking someone to strip what makes them authentic so everyone will feel comfortable.
I agree. I try to not get offended on other’s behalf but I’ve seen other interviews with other hosts, and SV seem always petrified that they will bring up her accent because they fuck with her so much about it. She’s a good sport but I can tell shes over it
You can but you need a teacher..it’s hard to get rid of accents cuz we don’t hear it ourselves when we speak. Like I can hear my accent when it’s recorded..but when I speak everyday, I can’t tell the difference cuz our brains aren’t wired like that.
@@jimguy2023 it’s really difficult when you’re older. Like my mom still has an accent but the crazy thing is I never noticed it until my husband mentioned it to me. Now I always hear her accent but honestly it’s so cute haha but literally didn’t notice my moms accent until I was 22 🤣
Isn’t that basically her trademark? While acting can be a talent, it’s also very touching to know fans want her for her. People fell in love with her voice, which has a sound & energy that signal fans of her presence long before even setting eyes on her. They don’t want her to imitate another. Having something unique to herself makes her irreplaceable.
she speaks english fluently and perfectly, she just had an accent. most people who learn languages past 8 ish will have an accent. If your mouth hasn’t practiced forming certain sounds then you physically can’t as you grow. It’s like how a lot of people can’t roll r’s even though most languages use them.
@@serar123 and actually Sophia has said in a couple of interviews that she doesn't like how Ellen picks on her because of her accent, sooooo if Ellen was a GOOD friend (which we have all now gotten to realize she is a horrible person) she wouldn't keep doing it when she's been asked to stop multiple times 🤯🤯🤯🤯
I hope she never loses her accent. It's a part of her identity and it makes her who she is. There’s nothing wrong with her English; it's perfectly understandable.
This awesome woman accomplish a successful actress career in Hollywood just like that can you imagine if she have a perfect english. Sofia you are so unique never change
