Soifia is a PhD candidate in the School of Natural Sciences at the Ryan Institute. Sofiia’s research explores novel techniques to extract commercially valuable seaweed compounds useful for food, agriculture, medical and pharmaceutical industries. The innovative eco-friendly approach of seaweed-derived products can improve sustainability and human health. Her research has been funded by the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Programme, Cybercolloids Ltd and the Irish Research Council.
