I ordered an SC28 a few days ago. I didn't really _need_ another flashlight, just wanted to expand my modest collection. 😀 The TD02 is a light that I didn't think I would like at first, and almost wanted to return it due to a change of mind. Gave it a few days and I grew to love it. I had expected something with an SST40 emitter to have a yellow-green tinge at low output, but surprisingly the TD02 is pure white from low to Turbo, just like my FC12. I have yet to find a Sofirn with a Luminus SST40 that doesn't have that green hue! It's very noticeable on the SC31 Pro but not so much on SC31T and SC32. I'm wondering if Sofirn is buying LEDs from the lower quality bins to cut on production costs. 🔦🤔

Just came across this light. As far as Sofirns, it is one of the lowest rated on Amazon and is listed as 'frequently returned '. Sounds neat, but I am skeptical.

Just got one on amazon sale, bargain for the quality. Love the smooth spill gives you a good flood with a graduated hot spot. Personally not keen on a pattern with a defined central hotspot. Your right its a slightly warmer white which i like compared to my olight ld70. It is also usb c to usb c. Yes i can see how the menu options cud seem complicated to some, but its not that bad. Most of the time ul have it in one mode and use the simple all in one tail switch so not a prob for me. Finally i love its ability to go from 1lm to 2800lm. A little big for me for a true edc but il use in my car set to tactical mode! Lol😅

The UI definitely isn't terrible, but it's worth noting that it holds the adjustability menu for a little too long in my opinion. It makes it easy to accidentally switch modes unintentionally.

I love the look of this flashlight, but the blink worries me. Just how annoying or bad is it? With a coupon, I can get it for $19.99 right now, but I'm hesitant just because of how complicated the UI is and most of all, the blink.

UI isn't really complicated, and the blink is easy to ignore. I think they could have made it so 6 clicks or something like that would have activated the click. Then you wouldn't have had to worry about it.

sofirn will make a new version with simple Ui, only moon-low-med-high-turbo. This Ui is not all that complicated, just annoying, even if you use momentary and want to change to the next level, with a bit of bad luck you will switch the mode. This is a problem in non-tactical modes. If you want a tactical flashlight, buy it now, before most of them come with only simplified UI. If you have other flashlights, you can always use this one, only in a tactical setting and not worry about changing modes, and I don't mean only in self-defense or other "tactical" situations. I use it for walks outside the city, or in the city in poorly lit places. One click and boom, over 2000 lumens, not 2800 however, more like 2200ish, after two minutes the efficiency drops to about 600 lumens and then very slowly and gradually goes down to about 500, this happens for over 3.5 hours, then light turns off. I have this flashlight and I measured output and runtimes on turbo and high.

The SC 28 UI is way too complicated for me. I can not switch programs I am constantly in high or turbo

I agree that there needs to be a way to disable mode switching. It takes a minute to get used to it, but hang in there, I think you'll grow to like the beam.

When in tactical mode does the memory deactivate? this is importand to know and i went to numerous reviews about this light and no one is mentioning it. If the memory doesn't exist in tactical mode then this is a perfect tactical light cause you always have it turn on at turbo even if you left it on medium the last night. Can you check this out please?

Yes I tactical mode turbo is always first. No memory for tactical and the New Ui only has 2 modes. Regular and tactical. This is a great light 21700 to.🔦🔦

SC28 and TD02 both work well, however they have their UI quirks. The TD02 is slightly more user friendly, in my opinion.

Haha. Our barn cats follow us around EVERYWHERE! These two in particular, they love wrestling with each other and will probably be making frequent appearances.
