I received my two SP10 Pro's about 2 weeks ago and I really like them. Excellent little lights! I almost forgot to mention that both of my SP10 's were off on the temperature reading by 10C. They were indicating 31C when they should have been indicating 21C. So don't take it for granted that they are perfectly calibrated from the factory.

Nice video. Glad to see sofirn using anduril in their small lights too! I have a few fw3a's with the anduril UI, but I don't have any experience with the 2.0 version. Is there much of a difference between 1.0 and 2.0?

This is my first light with Andruil but here is ToyKeeper's post. At a glance, seems to be a lot of polishing as opposed to major changes. budgetlightforum.com/node/73470

@@IllinoisDailyCarry Thanks for the link! Looks like most of the simple things stayed similar. I usually just used the simple functions anyhow with the exception of a few other functions. But I definitely love the anduril UI! (Once I got used to it that is) lol

@@tylerm1070 that's exactly where I'm at. But even Simple UI is a step up from most flashlights I own.

If you're used to Anduril 1, version 2 will be relatively simple to pick up. What I see as the biggest change is that now it takes 7 clicks and hold on the 7th to get to the programming mode for things like setting the floor and ceiling of the smooth ramping and stepped modes and for temperature calibration and thermal limit and voltage calibration (new in version2). But now you have to go thru that procedure for each one individually. You just have to hold on the 7th click a bit longer until you see the second or third flash. The first flash occurs almost instantly when you do the 7 clicks and hold on the 7th. The problem I had was I would let up on the button after the first flash all the time when I needed to hold it down a bit longer and wait for the second or third flash. For example, while in stepped mode, you will have a total of three flashes if you hold long enough on the 7th click. The first flash is to set the floor (the flash occurs almost instantly). The second flash is to set the ceiling (takes about two to three seconds). The third flash is to set the number of steps (takes about 4 to 5 seconds). If you miss it, just don't do anything and wait for it to exit out and do it again. With Anduril 2, 4 clicks from on or off locks it. And now you can set it to automatically lock out at a specified amount of time after turning it off, if you want to. It takes longer to explain it then it does to actually do it. LOL There are many other changes too, but some of them you may not even use, like shifting aux light colors or tint shift ramping. I love Anduril UI in lights! You can make your lights operate exactly how you want them to.

@@craigs7181 Thanks for the nice detailed information but I disagree that you can make Anduril lights operate exactly how you want them. What if you want it to come on strobe with a single click and SOS with two clicks? You can't do it. Sure you can set brightness levels and test voltage but there are so many simple things like setting the number of clicks to get into different modes that the developers apparently never thought of. I bought one and while I wait for it to arrive I looked over the UI diagram and text but am a little disappointed in how little it allows you to configure.

Most 14500 cells are 49.2mm in length. I wonder if this light will accept a longer cell, like the Nitecore 14500 that is 52mm in length?
@IllinoisDailyCarry
@IllinoisDailyCarry Год назад
I'll see if I can get my hands on a nitecore cell
@DRayL_
@DRayL_ Год назад
@@IllinoisDailyCarry Specifically it is the NITECORE NL1485. They make other 14500 cells that are the normal 49.2mm length [the length of AA and NiMH cells], but the NL1485 is what I ended up getting and two lights recently purchased don't work with it [because it is too long]. The Lumintop EDC15, and Maratac Compact Tri Flood. Both those wouldn't accept the length of the NL1485.

@@DRayL_ Intriguing. Looks like I can get it on B&H, and perhaps some other spots. I'll try and get my hands on one to test in the SP10. I could try it in some other lights as well if you were curious.

@@IllinoisDailyCarry Sounds good. I'd hate for you to spend the money on one if unable to use it. There are a couple Nitecore 14500 lights that can accept this specific cell.
@IllinoisDailyCarry

@@DRayL_ Anyone one of those you would recommend? Perhaps I can order one that comes with the cell and get two birds.

I bought one of these and while waiting to get it was looking through the UI diagram and text. I am a little disappointed in how little control the UI gives you. Yeah you can adjust brightness levels and stuff but simple things like being able to set it to come on in strobe or SOS with one click isn't configurable. I hate strobe and SOS but that was just an example.
@IllinoisDailyCarry

Perhaps worth messaging the board the programmer is on as it may be easy enough to add those features.
@MrWhaatay

@@IllinoisDailyCarry I have a couple AVR development kits laying around and possibly an Attiny 1616. It is open source code but would be pretty easy to program a custom UI from scratch using the AVR instruction set. The strategy, lightning, and candle modes are not what people buy flashlights for so wouldn't even have them.

You can set it to come on in any of the strobe modes in one click. Get the light in the mode you want, then click five times. It will come on in that mode any time you hold the button down. You can also have it turn on in the last strobe mode you are in with 3h.
